How to modified the 150 prado traction control wiring fitted with factory rear locker

  • more than one way to skin a cat and this is our version.
    This is for 2019 150prado gxl fitted with factory rear locker.
    Don’t assume it’s same same as yours and you much check the circuit.
    The mods of tc function
    So that the traction will work when rear locker is engaged by pressing the added switch

    isnt there a thrid party plug and play kind of a thing where you dont need to tap into wires. Just not comfortable messing with ABS since most of us are not auto sparkies

      When abs light is on, i means the traction control is off, the abs light is just telling you that traction control/A-track off is off.
      When the Abs light is off , it means traction control working normal (on)
      The switch modification is to turn (ON) the traction control /A-track off when the factory rear locker is engaged and the stability control remains off,
      The problem is when the factory rear locker is engaged , it turns off traction control / A-track off ,

    Nice one guys.
    When the manual TC button is on now, what happens if you try and turn the TC off using the factory button holding down for a few seconds (like normaly turning off)?
    Ive also read a review on a 2019 GXL that stated that sometime during 2019, the traction control remains on with rear locker. Any idea if this is true?

      The prado on video is 2019 model and the traction control turned off when rear locker is engaged, that’s the reason for the wiring mods to make the tc on when rear locker is engaged.
      You can still manually turn the traction control by holding the tc button, completely different circuits.
      Watch our laters video and watch the front wheel of the 150 prado as he got the rear locker engaged for the duration of that video

    I'm keen to do the same mod, may I ask any drawback on doing this? How did you find with this mod and any issue so far?

      No drawback except for the cost for extra switch , wire and fuse. Mods was big in America Toyota FJ Cruiser as they share same system for the prado

      Very easy mods and your prado will become more capable off-road with the mods , just like having triple lock.
      The problem with factory rear locker is when locked, the front tc turned off and becomes open

      ​​@@kuyaneillagalag1948 yea, you're right. Rear locked making front diff open without TRC which makes it kind of pointless locking the rear in some situations.
