I remember when I was young, I used to stay with my Aunt & Uncle in Maine. They had a small farm. I loved hay season, it was a lot of work but I loved working with the tractors and the bailers. And bucking those bails what a work-out. They too had their share of mechanical problems. But always got the hay in. Plus I loved my Aunt & Uncle. Hard word, but I made me feel good.
I have the same memories with my Pap. My husband would love to sell all the equipment and just buy hay, but I want to do those memories justice, they’re special for sure.
We use all older equipment to make hay on 13 acers. Only thing new is the tedder. Otherwise our equipment is prior 1969. 1954 super c, 1969 new holland 469 haybine, 1962 IH 37 baler and 2 hay racks prior to 1950. Our tedder is 2024. Were getting a hay elevator and that's like 1968. I'd have to look again at it. I'm going to bale 3 acers of alfalfa / grass mix in a couple hours. It is very doable and makes you appreciate what we have today.
So happy to see you were able to get your hay done. Sorry about your tractor I hope the issue is easily resolved. Love the Farmall, your son did a great job, tractor looks great!
I pulled a Hayliner 268 for years. Every winter we would go through it. It was low and flat across the top. It was easy to see over with the Ford Dexta I pulled it with. Like we put up thousands of bales every summer.
I think the hayliners are just the best little balers. And they definitely evoke fond memories from all who have used them. The super 66 is another story lol.
Mis respetos y mis felicitaciones a usted Sra.
Just subscribed. We decades ago had a 46T international and it was trouble some. Then we got a worn out New holland 269 and it worked better. We still have it. Then we scored a really good new holland 273 and it bails perfectly using plastic twine. Once I was bailing with a WD allis. Blew up the PTO gears and had to bale the remainder with a Super C Farmall. Same thing as with your H it had a difficult time with thick windrows. We have a H and several other letter Farmalls. We also have a junked bailer the same model as yours. Parts are available from it. If you want we could do a video of that junk bailer.
Thank you! We used an International 47 Demonstrator to vet the summer and it worked great! I had hopes that the 440 would be as nice. The letter series tractors really are just the best. Sure they’re aren’t as expensive powerful as more modern tractors, but man they’re reliable. I’d love to see your 440! Tag me if you do a video.
There are a few really good knotter tuning videos on youtube. I think one is a guy called the Knotter King or something like that because he repairs knotters for a service.
Our neighbor has an M. It’s a fantastic tractor. He uses it for all his farming needs. I think he said his grandfather bought it new and it never left the farm.
Nice job and good lookimg hay., just push the shifter into neutral instead of pushing the clutch in if you get big bunches with the H and let the pto keep going. Much harder on it and the clutch to push the ram when the chamber is full of hay starting from dead stopped.

they nh 69 is a better baler then the ih.. and yes knotters in baler pretty much stayed the same.. like on jd from 24t to 346 knotters are same.. great job on balers..
@@Anarchyacresfarmstead i got a ih few years ago n i couldnt get it to tie.. and i can get any other baler brand to do its job cept ih.. i hope you can figure it out..
@Anarchyacresfarmstead used one in the 80's.similar trouble with knotter.lots of adjusting and trial and error. Even repair guy had a time getting to tie correctly..also,watch slip clutch on pick-up drive.

@@Anarchyacresfarmstead We had one as a kid. It was junk. It was constantly choking itself.
Awesome job. Keep up the great work. Did it for many many years. Enjoyed it growing up.
Thanks!
I enjoyed your video. Brings back memories of my childhood. I'm glad that H could step up to the plate.❤

Debbie and Idid a video of hay mowers & the bailer. Its is a new holland 276 however it has the same appearance of your 69
I have a NH 268, hardly ever misses a bale. Love your videos keep em coming.
Thank you! I hear the 268 is a great machine.
great job! nice to see the old equipment putting in work😁
The old stuff is our favorite for sure. It’s a thing of beauty watching them work.

Thank you! I’ll have to look that up!
Still plenty pf 67's 68's and 69's still out there. The thing to watch out for are the wear blocks going bad .
Definitely agree!
Farmall M is my favorite antique tractor.
One of ours too!
I'll take a shed full of farmalls over anything these days lol . Although I did happen to see a brand spanking new farmall tractor very very cool
Same here! My son just got a C too, great little tractor.
Dad had an M Farmall.
I forgot what year it was.
The M was a big tractor in it's day.

I’m finishing up my 3 rd cutting ( pasture hay ). On 80 acres in Minnesota,, using same type hay bine and using an m
Awesome! Does your M do well with the Haybine? I think it might be too much for this H.
i love it. i have a 1942 H you can see on my channel my wife baling hay with it!!! great to see it still going!

Advance auto parts only closed on Christmas only !
New Holland used to be a PA company. It's a shame wow things have changed!
So true!
Would the baler work better if he was in a lower gear with higher engine rpm so the baler spins faster.
It definitely might. It was doing pretty good for us, but I think we were all just a little leery about that fly wheel lol!

Looks more like mowing weeds.
It wasn’t the best but it’s not our farm, and it’s one that we are trying to get in better shape. The goats don’t mind.
We used to carry a can of shear pins for this.
I now carry all sizes and varieties of pins lol. In my truck, my tractor , my quad etc 🤣
