i was watching with a good friend and we were both rolling on the floor because of luffy it was so funny and when we went reading the comments under the crunchyroll episode we were disappointed by the comunity writing so much hate the episode was so intense the music the voice acting the animation it was the perfect introduction and all that is coming the next weeks will top that and i will actually wait 4 weeks to see everything at once and die of laughter

Also there's inherent risk and instability to awakening a fruit, it's not always just instant power at your control, which makes it interesting. Who knows, this statement will likely be outdated by the end, but at least it's not 100% easy mode atm
And the longer i see g5 luffy fight, he gets scarier. Why? Because Imagine fighting someone who is just fooling around but every attack is deadly. And in the fight between luffy and lucci. From our perspective luffy looked like goofy but from lucci’s view, he is very chaotic. It looks like fighting an insane cuphead game boss.

I honestky didnt like the episodes animation, it felt to fast paced and made some of the scenes look to fast and hard to see, also some frames straight up looked terrible but besides that GEAR 5 YUUUUUSSS!.

I'm 30ish years old, and I seen a lot of shonens. And a lot of power ups are just "I punch harder", "my hits are bigger", "my energy has a different flavor", or "my beam is a different color". I must say, Joy Boy has me actually impressed. Particularly when jank animation becomes not only intentional, but literally weaponized.

i love how the idea of luffy is how his abilities are so funny and he himself is laughing so much the entire fight. it feels like its connected to the name of laugh tale and how it was so funny that once gold roger got there he just started laughing. it such a twist on the what i thought would be the peak of Luffy or better yet Gear 5
Unpopular Opnion: although the debut of Gear 5 was great, it took the whole episode, repeated a scene of him bouncing around 3 times, and just 2 punches. I hope more fighting in the next episode, I wanna see it more in action.
The ep definitely had flaws the repetitive use of scenes 2 flashbacks some parts were hard to understand also orchis part could've been skipped or put back for a different episode also kaido not realising luffys haki or that he woke up but somehow sanji wakes up because of it other then that it was a good episode

I've been dreaming of something like Gear 5 for years, a character surging with so much power the fight is an exciting game for them, smiling and laughing all throughout the battle while comically reacting to the furious enemy before them, to me gear 5 was a dream come true
As a gamer I can listen to this for hours on repeat and just zone out. The drums, the bass, the rhythm it's all just peak. Haven't heard anything this good since Deku went up against Overhaul. Just endgame boss music. Anything less and I don't want it. A 10 hour version of this would get a million views from me alone lol
