It’s my Favorite spot and where my profile pic was taken. Great fishing but it used to be way better in the early 2000’s when I first started fishing that spot. I bet there was amazing fishing in the 90’s there.
I believe it’s 7 foot maybe 7’6”. I purposely made it long so I can push it into the sand deep enough and still have my rods about chest high. The higher the rod tip is the better chance of the wind chop not grabbing my line and slacking it out. With the line somewhat tight I can see every bite I get and helps with hook up easier. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
One thing I look for before I plan a trip is low winds. Also the less boat and wading traffic the better so weekdays are better than weekends. If it’s really calm I start off by throwing topwater then switch to plastic with as light of a jig head as I can to keep the lure in the strike zone as long as possible. Look for shiny patches on the surface and throw to that. Hope this helps good luck out there!
@@InshoreAddict I know! Thats why camradas and I are going! A plus is that i just got a new jerrys led gigging setup and Im gonna try it out there, I tried it out here at Island but wind churned up water making visibility 👎🏼, good luck out there bro!
The old pier was demolished last year, no more T, now it’s a Y and the new pier is under construction. I like to fish at the broken fence line to the north.
I used to fish that pier with my pops back in the 90s. Caught me first red out there👍🤙.
