That's a nice gift from your wife bud! Good job walking us thru the steps. Every grill has a little defect here and there. You'll foget all about them after you have filled your gut with some of your delicious BBQ a few times!! Take care my friend!!
BBQ PIT DOG Thanks Rob i got lucky this year, last year she got me a tie and socks 😡😡😡. So this year i must be doing something right lol. I can’t wait to take for a spin real soon. Thanks for watching brotha. Cheers and keepbbqing
Nice gift! I've had mine for over 5 years and its still going. Its a learning curve from a pellet smoker, but once you get use to it, it'll crank out the meats!
mironccr345 Thanks brotha i cant wait to do my first burn and my first cook on it. The funny thing is i came from a stick burner to pellet grill lol. So you’re absolutely correct it’s gonna be a learning curve. If you don’t mind me asking what are couple of your pro and cons about it and how’s it holding up after 5 years? Thanks for watching brotha! Cheers and keepbbqing
@@SmokinJazzBbq I recently got a PB 1100 pro earlier this month, prior to that, the Akorn has been my main smoker. Pros: Holds temp for hours once you dial it in, low fuel consumption, can get hot real fast for searing, 5 year warranty, great customer service. If you're not happy with that shelf, I would notify them. Cons: watching it/staying close to the smoker before it hits target temp, so you don't over shoot it. Because once you over shoot, it takes a while to bring it back down. I use a prob to assist me with this. When the temp dips in the low 190's, the fire will go out. Doesn't happen a lot, but it has. Not many cons in my opinion, that's just me complaining, lol. Good luck with the new addition and I can't wait to see what food you crank out!
Looks like cleaning the ash out is gonna be a pain in the ass having to drop the bottom out every time. Other then that looks like it’ll work. Looks like it has a good lid gasket but you’ll let us know how good it is after a few cooks
Paul’s Q i totally agree with you especially when if i gotta dump ash out for another cook in the same day. I m hoping to take it for a spin this weekend since we are supposed to get some nice weather finally lol. I ll keep you posted on everything as i normally do brotha. Thanks for watching. Cheers and keepbbqing
Sorry for the late reply but my mother in law recently just passed. I would recommend the weber performer over this any day. This is really hard to control the temps but once you get to learn how to its a lil easier. I just trust weber products over char griller. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Cheers and Keepbbqing.
Congratulations on the new toy bro. A Kamado is one thing I don't have in my arsenal. Maybe one day though. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
THEREALSHOWBBQ Thanks brotha Scott! I m really looking forward to it as well. I heard great things about this smoker so let’s see what she can do. Thanks for watching brotha! Cheers and keepbbqing
Lasse's Food and Barbecue Thanks Brotha Lasse! I can’t wait to cook on it. Let’s see what the hype is all about lol. Thanks for watching. Cheers and keepbbqing
curtis shaw Thanks brotha Curtis!!! I appreciate the kind words. I do have several videos on this bad boy such as the first seasoning of the grill and the first cook. If you have any questions please feel free to ask i got you covered!!! Thanks for watching bro. Cheers and keepbbqing
1984 BBQ Thanks brotha Johnny i cant wait to do the 1st burn and the 1st cook! Definitely doing video on it. Thanks for watching brotha! Cheers and keepbbqing
Pickles BBQ Thanks Charlie i m looking forward towards this weekend since we are supposed to get some nice weather finally so i can take her out for a spin. I ll keep you posted on anything i find. Thanks for watching brotha. Cheers and keepbbqing
Awesome unboxing video.. I really like how that upper rack swings out the way. You should contact Char Griller and have them send you out a new brackets for your table. Other than that it looks like a nice unit. Great video..!
Joe's BBQ House Thanks brotha Joe! Yea i was thinking contacting char griller about that. I like upper rack as well. It’s a unique grill for sure. Can’t wait to do the first cook on it. Thanks for watching brotha. Cheers and keepbbqing
Nice review! i just ordered mine 2 days ago...getting back into to charcoal grilling vs gas :) looks like a easy assembly.. the only question I had was ..does the fire bowl just sort of sit in there or is it a press fit down into place to keep it from moving around?
Hey Midi Fun, Good stuff right there. The kamado is a nice smoker but I gotta warn it will take a lil while to learn the temp controlling. Also the fire bowl does sit right inside. It doesn't really move at all. This was a major concern for me but it work out. Good luck on your new toy. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks for watching and for your support. Cheers and Keepbbqing!
@@SmokinJazzBbq luckly ive had a bit of practice with my brothers Kamado with dialing in temps :) thats good to hear about the fire bowl. I was about to get a Kamado Joe but 2 things discouraged me 1 being the price.. ouch!!! and 2 the weight ! me and my wife both have bad backs those Joes are about 200 lbs.... and are grilling deck is just the right size for a Akorn... Ive got ribs on the menu for the up coming 4th of July! yummmm cant wait... be safe.. have fun!
@@synthasia-5041 Thats awesome brotha. You got the experience and the skills to produce some beautiful bbq. I totally understand about the weight man I got a bad back from a major car accident back in the early 2000's and I have never been right since smh. Hey man if you ever come up with a concern or question please feel free to ask brotha. Cheers and keepbbqing.
U probably figured out your shelf not moving freely by now since it's been 3 years lol but i think u may have put your bolts and nuts in backwards. The bolt should be going in from the center out. You have the nuts on the inside. You need to turn them around bro.
It took me 2 days to watch it, but I watched it. Really nice video and assembly. You will discover more likes and dislikes as you go, as I did with my Bronco Seasoning Video. Look for leaks of oil, and smoke. Thanks for sharing, your doing a great job
MeatCranium BBQ AND REVIEW Thanks brotha i appreciate the tip! Hopefully it it runs smooth with the first burn and cook. Thanks for watching and your support! Cheers and keepbbqing

11:52; "And you can use this as your second shelf". I think I understand. I'm waiting for mine to arrive from Amazon in a few days so this youtube vid recommendation is probably tied to my purchase. Spooky. Anyway, thanks for the effort.
Wilhelm Taylor 😂😂😂 it’s not even Halloween yet and it’s spooky!!! Lol just joking bud. I think you will love this grill. The only thing is that it took me a few tries to learn how to manage the fire temps. I got a few videos using this grill and another one coming soon. The grill produces beautiful Q. If you have any questions please feel free to ask brotha!!! Thanks for watching and for your time to comment, i appreciate your support! Good luck on the new grill. Cheers and keepbbqing
Thank you! I was stuck with the bottom legs/bottom rack assembly for an hour. Your "hack" for assembling the bottom half made everything go smoothly.
Thank for commenting on this and i am glad it worked out well for you. If you ever have any further questions please feel free to ask. Thank you for watching and for your support!!
This young man did as good a job at covering the subject matter as anyone I have ever seen. I am getting one. Thx

Where do I get the plate setter/heat deflector? How much should I expect to pay?
