Also A baby giving birth to a baby as a bankai is messed up of idea. Totally original in shounen

This episode definitely showcase why Mayuri is both a certified freak but a simultaneous badass too. He was in complete control of the battle and this man was just having a grand old time. It was funny to have him paired up with Kenpachi cuz despite being so different, they're so alike. Kenpachi gets the most joy out of fighting, Mayuri gets the most joy out of the unknown of science. Some people were saying they felt bad for Pernida, I felt bad for Ashisogi. It was just in constant pain cuz of Mayuri's villainous experiment. No wonder he was locked up for so long in the past

I wouldn't be surprised if his ability was the inspiration for such a technique. Reminder that only two Quincies were shown using this ability at all, which is supposedly rare even among Quincies: Uryuu and Quilge. -You're the only one who remembered the flashback scene in which Yhwach wrestles Pernida (or rather, the left arm) from Ichibei. Practically everyone forgot it and asked the same "why is he fighting for the Quincies?" question. I don't think they had territories or something like that. Remember that Gerard's awful sense of direction led him back to the fortress area. They just split up and were doing whatever; probably Renji was already going far enough and ran into Uryuu.

Considering a particular scene shown in the trailers, most of these fights will end in this cour. Cour 4 is mostly going to be the so-called extended finale in order to address how rushed it was in the manga.
Lille Barro was watching Uryuu and Renji at the start of the episode (he stopped sniping shinigami last episode because he was watching the fight). Also, you've seen one of Uryuu's schrift abilities, even if you don't know its name. He used it to swap himself and Senjumaru so that she was trapped by her own bankai. Mayuri needs therapy, but his bankai is very OP. The ability to generate a perfect counter to a single enemy is really hard to fight and he's actually probably the 3rd most powerful captain (Shunsui and Kenpachi could beat him in a straight fight). The only character who Mayuri doesn't screw with under any circumstances is Urahara, who he knows too much about to want to fight. If you remember back a WHILE, Urahara explained to Renji that his bankai isn't the kind to help anybody or be used in training? It's pure nope even by Mayuri's standards, and so Urahara has a pretty much unlimited pass to mess with him without Mayuri making his usual threats. Imagine how stupid powerful the prime Soul King was. His right arm (Mimihage) can stop almost anything, his left arm (Pernida) can control others by screwing with their nerves, his brain (Gremmy) can turn imagination into reality and his eyes posses omni-precognition. His hollowed out (kinda) corpse was still powerful enough to hold the worlds together.

If Urahara had fused with the Hogyoku and fused with his zanpakuto like Aizen did, he would have been able to beat Squad Zero and would likely have taken out Yhwach with Almighty prior to him absorbing the Soul King. He would be effectively unstoppable, as the only way to beat his bankai is to stay away from him until he runs out of spirit energy and needs to release it. If it touches you, it's likely going to be a closed casket.

My only regret with this episode is that Hanataro's comedic scenes from the end of each chapter in this part of the story were cut. It's basically him reacting to being collateral damage from Mayuri vs Pernida. Other than that and the Lille and Uryu scenes in the beginning, this episode is very loyal to the manga. === Pernida is the worst opponent for Zaraki or anyone else who relies on melee combat. === Ashisogi Jizō, Kyōdo Yon (疋殺地蔵 恐度四, Leg-Cutting Jizō, Terror Magnitude 4): Mayuri sticks his finger in one eye of the baby's head, causing it to begin leaking blood while the baby opens its mouth to scream. Kinda. He's a problem for most of Soul Society's fighters, but he's in a body bag almost immediately if either Shunsui or Urahara activate their bankai. Kenpachi would also be hard to adapt to, as his ability is literally to cut anything.
We already know Katen Kyokotsu is one of Shunsui's zanpakuto, as they both appeared in the Zanpakuto rebellion filler arc. And god damn I hope you're talking about the big breasted one xD
