  • Playing golf close to sunset at BraeBen is quite amazing! This golf course is elevated over the city of Mississauga and you get panoramic views of the all the houses and high rises.
We teed off at 3:20pm (arrived early and were able to get out a bit earlier). We booked a twilight tee time for $38.50 per person. With taxes and golf cart included, it came out to a total of $63 per person for 18-holes. Pretty good if you ask me! Enjoy the video!

I totally agree- take a cart and take lots of balls! Apart from that, it's a beautiful course, reasonably priced and well-maintained.

Hi Shan, so glad your posting videos twice a week. You played this course really well. It's not easy playing a course for the first time. As for bunker shots, when you have plenty of sand you open your wedge and let the bounce hit the sand an inch or two behind the ball. With wet sand or very little sand try using the leading edge and hitting the sand right behind the ball. I try to hit a punch shot, so I take the club back about halfway. And finish about waist high. I hope that helps.

Interesting! I'll give that a try next time. Thanks!

LOL Shan that par 5 ate your lunch! I cracked up when you hit the rake. Been there... You take out that hole and those few 3 putts and you had a solid round. Your chipping will improve the more you play so your not faced with those long putts. Keep churning out these videos and I'll see you at or near scratch by then end of next season! 👍

I must've missed this comment, sorry! And yes, that par 5! I actually saw the rake and thought in my head I might hit it... I did 😂 Thanks for believing in my game! I hope to be close to scratch soon :)

Great video and i’m glad you made the decision to post twice a week! Something to look forward to.
Yeah getting a cart was smart since it is hilly but also the walk between holes can be quite long and a lot of the walking is uphill. Imo you summarized the pros and the cons of the course perfectly and really give a great representation of the course to anyone who hasn’t played there before and is looking to play there. That is one of the many reasons i love watching your channel over other golf course vlogs.
If you ever do decide to play braeben again i’m not sure if you knew already but they also have a range tucked away in the course if you want to practice before the 18.

Played there a lot few years back as I was working in Mississauga. We did walked this course. I love to walk and you would be a fun person to golf with. I hate when people hit up on us too but that is weekend golf. We normally play early in the morning to avoid all that drama lol

Playing early is definitely better for avoiding the backlog

The rake hit 😂 also how do you get to the driving range at this course? Which club house do we gotta go to first?

Shan, if the bunker is wet, packed, or dense... hit the ball with a square-faced sand wedge, about an inch behind the ball but no further. If you open the face and activate the bounce, you will bounce off the sand and into the ball.

Thank you! 🙏 I do find that I tend to hit the ball when the bunkers are dense.

Ok so what did you shoot under pressure? Your smile is worth a few strokes. My favorite is Capetown Woods out west a bit.

I've never played that course it looks nice and it looks like you are hitting that new driver great. Those hard bunkers you need to play it more like a fair way shot now if you are close to the green make sure you open the face of your club. It also looks like you are adjusting to your new irons nicely, they are probably stronger lofts than your last set and that is one reason why they are going farther the other would be they are fitted. So all you need to do is spend some time at the range to dial in your new yardages make sure you right them down to help you remember them.

Hi, sorry i must've missed your comment! I believe my new irons are the same loft, but I did get stiffer shaft and had the lie angle adjusted flat so I am hitting the center of the club face more often. Definitely gotta hit more shots with the new clubs to dial them in. Thanks!

If a person is so impatient that they are hitting into you, when the whole course is backed up, maybe golf isn't the sport for them.

No, I'm using my Ping Craz-e putter. It's an older putter, but i like the feel a bit more.
