That ACC TV contract is so bad that it seems to devalue its football programs, especially the big ones because Clemson and Florida State carry the other programs. it's as if the government offered you 5 to 10 and your lawyer comes back and says I got you 25.
What if that TV Deal got each Member $16 Million MORE per year that reported AND a $2 Billion Investment in building a Network?
Would THAT be a good Contract? Because THOSE ARE FACTS that nobody ever includes in their DUMB TAKE.
For espn It’s not about paying fsu or Clemson more if they switch conferences , it’s about paying everyone else less. They’ll pay the Big 12 50 million a team if it means they don’t pay 75 million a team between the big 12 and ACC
Thing is, ESPN pays the ACC 50% more than they pay the b12. ESPN also pays the SEC, what, 75% more than they pay the ACC. So who are they going to prioritize?
Just a reminder… ESPN has something of a captive audience that no other sports network has. They did have an even larger captive revenue stream, but the cord cutting (a lot of which was done by people who want no part of ESPN… or even Fox) is drying that up. So, yes, where do you cut? But where’s the motivation to cut Florida State slack on one hand and NOT micromanage the b12 contract on the other hand?
It’s one thing if Fox somehow persuades the B1G to take Florida State (though I think the state’s meddling in current matters is NOT helping). Just remember that Fox is paying the B1G five times what they’re paying the b12. I can tell who they will prioritize in programming. Don’t be surprised if the B1G tries to push a couple volleyball games onto the main network right after their football games.
@@PCSPounderyour numbers are wrong. Lying to push your narrative is short sighted
Exactly. Not sure why this confuses anyone.
ESPN has a look in for the entire ACC and can reduce its pay out to them BUT keep 2/3 FSU/Clemson rights.
But what is clear is the TV partners will decide this.
lol people like Josh should never be allowed to speak about FSU again.
They're gonna pay more for FSU and Clemson because they'll be paying less for the other 16 teams in the ACC. Why do people have trouble understanding this?
I don't know lmao. They keep talking about the current ACC being a cheap deal yet ignoring that they don't make ABC/Disney any money plus ABC/Disney's public desire to pay the SEC more money for more games.
@@xfacta334 The ACC's deal has been called "terrible" since Day 1. That means way below market.
@@tarheel7406 Day 1: it was terrible for the schools only.
Today: It's terrible for everyone involved for various reasons.
@@xfacta334 In this context, "terrible" means far below market. If it was at market, no matter the length it wouldn't have been called "terrible". The ACC's "terrible" deal is expected to pay slightly more than the BIG12's deal that is considered good. The different views are based on the different actual value of each conference.
@@tarheel7406 You say this like the market didn't change after the deal was signed. In the beginning it was terrible for some, now it's terrible for all.
Pac12 said the same thing 😂😂😂
Exactly, and I’m willing to bet ESPN behind the scenes is making this happen.
Yep!
Pac12 had no tv deal dingus. Don’t know if you were listening but the ACC has one for 12 MORE YEARS
@@dallasmustang11 and this is the part EVERYONE KEEPS IGNORING
The PAC 12 desolved because they had no media deal. The ACC has one til atleast 2027
Josh, the challenge is not the tv contract with Florida State and Clemson. The challenge is comparing media rights with media rights and private equities. Yormark said at media days that the NFL is moving towards private equity funding with media rights in order to enhance the league. The Big 12 is looking to become the first conference to apply private equities with media rights in order to propel the conference to the P1 and as the most dominant conference in the nation. So, don't analyze media rights only against media rights and private equities or the speculation will be way off. I recommend that the UA-cam sports podcast start learning more about private equities because it will dominate collegiate athletic funding in the near and long-term. Watch and see!
Thank you!!
The Big 12 the most dominant league in the nation. 🤣🤣😂
Okay I promise you, absolutely the big 12 is BARELY in the P3
You have… Utah?
No one else is very good, doesn’t draw the eyes or fanbase. People don’t want big 12 brands.
Anything the BG12 does the SEC will to and get paid more. That’s the horrible reality of this screwed up world of CFB today. Regionality is dying and it sucks. Rivalries don’t matter, money does.
@collinmarlow9094 You sound like a guy who cleans toilets and tells their children not to bother.
Some of you people need to find the sunshine. The world changes all the time. What you think is true for today is nothing but memories tomorrow. Army/Navy and the Ivy League used to be the bees knees and well... things change.
The NBA was an absolute garbage can for a good number of years before Bird/Magic brought it back.
The PGA Tour was absolutely terrible after Jack and Arnie left their prime and then Bam here comes Tiger Woods...
Yormark is a shark.
The big 12 could never become the top conference it has no blue bloods tiny stadiums and a small fan base. The sec will always be the crème of the crop. Texas and OU leaving assured that
ACC has at least 5 teams that would be in the top 10 of the Big 12. Watch this season play out on the field, not in your minds.
Lol😂 ok
Does ESPN really want to pay for FSU vs Boston College when they could simply move them into a deal they already own and instead get say FSU vs Iowa State instead.
That move might not make sense at SEC prices but sure would at Big 12 prices.
Why would IOWAST be better than BC?
BIG12 fans all have the same conceit that its vanilla members are better than those elsewhere.
ESPN is ruining college football along with the courts … the two of them have nearly destroyed everything great about college athletics
FSU will leave the ACC because they can't afford to stay in it and compete at a high level. They have burned the bridges back to the ACC. FSU will go independent before remaining in the ACC.
Bet you $11,000 it will not go Indy UNLESS it gets KICKED OUT
If the FSU ad didn’t have a public gripe/ grievance about where they are and air it live on ESpN , the university might be in a better position
and viewed more favorably amongst other conferences. IMO.
Once the lawsuits are over and ESPN pulls the TV contract for the ACC they will they then up the SEC contract to bring in FSU, Clemson, NC, and VT or Miami... WATCH. Virginia will go to the B1G along with Stanford... Louisville, GT, Pitt, NC State, Cal, VT or Miami all fit in the Big 12.
I think the school destinations will be different for some, but this basically whats going to happen.
No reason to pull the plug on a good deal even after expected depletion.
There is no scenario for a sensible P5 remainder consolidation in a Tier 2 BIG12/
@@tarheel7406 Oh it is pretty much a done deal. It will be Power 3 no doubt.
@@WeSRT4 There is no feasible path to a peer P3. The BIG12 can't close the gap in value nor competitiveness.
Very unlikely that CAL+2 would have been invited without ESPN approval and assurances.
Once Next June gets here every Big 12 Fantasy will be OVER and REALITY will set in that you are SCREWED FOREVER.
Yikes, going to revisit this soon I fear.
Really awesome , I like it, looking forward for your next video, keep it up!
Thank you for inspiring me to better
FSU is calling the B12 the truck stop league.
Just a little bitter because your team was left out? I think so..
I really don’t understand why Josh Neighbors is portrayed as some kind of subject matter expert? Absolutely no clue. Just an opinion .. he is.
I’ve had a lot of fun at truck stops before
We do have truck stops on major highways here in the midwest. I guess trucks are able to fuel themselves on the east coast and west coast. Sounds fascinating.
Oklahoma and Texas owns most of those truck stop brands lol, QT, Love's, Buccee's
How are You Dear Awesome Stuff
Absolutely stunning
Excellent
Wonderful
I Love the look
Brilliant
FSU fans would riot if we left a conference with Miami for Central Florida.
Stock up on riot gear.
Okie State is very sensitive about everything.
People would cry that
FSU played in a cupcake conference now people are crying because FSU wants out of their conference and wants to play in a better and tougher conference which one is it?
Umm both, why would those be mutually exclusive?
I mean it’s not like Bobby Bowden didn’t literally say that he chose the ACC over the SEC because it was easier. That’s pretty obvious.
In other words, you reap what you sow. Not anybody’s fault, but there’s that the money is not there anymore for them to just get paid for playing an ACC schedule.
It was a no-brainer back when the pay was the same. Now that it’s not and then it’s getting worse fast they’re trying to get ahead of being a complete also Ran
Yall do know Josh neighbors is a X12 guy right😂
ESPN will not benefit by forcing teams in a financially dying conference (ACC) to play worse and worse football. Plenty of room in the country for 3 conferences, and as an FSU alum, I don't care which conference it is, this is about survival. The BIG12 did things right to survive, the ACC blew it when they had a chance to do something about it. FSU and Clemson join the existing teams in the BIG12 would be awesome, and VERY competitive. Seriously, Purdue, Rutgers, Indiana, Maryland, Northwestern, Minnesota and a couple others... sorry, both the SEC and BIG10 are STILL top-heavy, plenty of below average teams.
In context, the BIG12 is already dead. There is no feasible path to a peer P3.
Sure………😂
Nah this guy is not knowledgeable about the legal side to make useful commentary.
love
No offense, but Josh Neighbors is clueless.
I'm sure he's a nice guy and probably mostly a bright guy but he's so stuck in the old way.
I love you
Don’t let your head get to big!!!! Most stilly folks got no clue who you are.
It’s your opinion, so be it. Effects no outcome!!
okie state should be in the SEC. very nice college and championships, facilities
Pretty
O M G My crush
GO POKES!
LOLOLOLOLOL
They are coming to the BIGXII
That's what she said😂
ESPN IS NOT GOING TO RENEW THEIR CONTRACT WITH THE ACC Therefore the ACC is dead 💀 after 2026-2027 season. The 6 best teams will find a landing spot. To save money 💰 they will probably go to the Big 12
WHy would ESPN not renew a great contract for them? 12 years remain on it. ESPN NEEDS CONTENT. The GOR is solid.
what makes u think value is in kansas, lubbock and iowa or arizona, colorado. certainly not in Houston
In context, the BIG12 is already dead.
@@DLTJR1959 Because they need the money to pay the SEC for more games. They need content that makes money not just any content lol. The ACC is dead and unless you're a Wake/BC supporter your gonna be fine afterward.
@@xfacta334 As of right now, the ACC is not dead. They are in litigation over the GOR that everyone signed. The exit fees will determine if the ACC is dead or not.
