Hey Big C , your trip reminds me of when I went to a place in Mexico and stayed with my ex's family during the holidays. I did a little get-together, and people started showing up out of nowhere. I'm not a drinker, and a couple of her nephews asked me where's the booze. I said no booze, just soda and soft drinks. You should've seen the look of disappointment, lol. Long story short, I had to make a run to get more beverages and by the time I got back. All the food was gone, and everyone enjoyed it except for me. Never again. Also, I was glad to get out of the sticks, I stayed 2 nights at the family's place and I had to book a hotel. That was enough for me. More power to ya if you gonna do that province life, test it out first for 3 months or so. As you probably know. I can't do that stuff, I'm a spoiled American, and I need first world creature comforts like AC and running water, lol. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Sorry this was a long one, but the video took me back in time. Just wanted to share. Cheers !

Clark flies to Caticlan then there’d be a 2 hour bus ride ON THAT END to get to Anne’s town… or, we do the 2 hour bus ride up front to Manila and then fly right in to Anne’s town 👍 one of these days we’ll fly from Clark and ride the non-air conditioned bus full of chickens pigs and goats… im sure that’s not true but that’s what i envision, it is a winding crazy road Anne says
I hosted a few events for my wife’s family in the Philippines and I have the same policy about alcohol. I don’t drink alcohol myself for several reasons and I don’t condone it at all party for kids. Good for you for not bowing to the pressure.

I can emphasize with about the not paying for alcohol at the party. I quit drinking a long time ago (31 years anniversary yesterday). You know a lot if guys are going to be disappointed (and sometimes downright angry) but you also know buying the liquor is going to cost you a lot more and you're going to enjoy the party a lot less.

Here is what I do different at the very end of your journey. Let's just say I don't like the non negotiable price fixing trike drivers. If my bags are light and the weather is good when I get to SM Clark I will walk down the sidewalk, cross the highways at traffic light, walk into main gate friendship jeepney area, wait for first empty one, get in front and tell collector 2 fares, 26 pesos as compared to 150, 160, 175 etc.

Last time I came back from Palawan, I used the airport shuttle bus which only cost 50 pesos per person to go to the other terminal. Quick and easy.
