My girlfriend dropped my new white N & F coffee cup out on the porch from about 4 feet up and it just bounced. Not a scratch on it! 😃👍🏽
Damm right!! Those mugs are tough as hell. Expensive yes, but you feel how weighty they are and you understand why.
I had thought about seeking made in Canada clothing. I discovered N&F and took the step to make them my first raw denim.
Made in Canada was the essential thing that really drew me in and then the world opened up with the Japanese fabrics, construction, etc.
The great people I've met have kept the enjoyment renewing over and over.
I'm glad that it was made in Canada that brought us together :)
I choose to wear raws because hardly anyone else I know wears them. It's nice to have found something that feels unique, especially Naked & Famous. There are so many cool releases and collabs that youd be hard pressed to find someone wearing the same jeans as you, and even then the fades are different! I am by no means gatekeeping though, I've literally given jeans away to friends simply because I want them to try out this fun process :)
It's very true - if you grab one of our seasonal items, you're one of few with that same pair, and it'll be even more rare and unique to you as soon as you wear it.
I think we all wear raw denim jeans because we get to see the work we put into them. It's satisfying knowing that you can see the progress made with how often you wear and use them. There's no honour in unworn clothing and it's especially true for raw denim imo.
Also Seeing the MIJ 13 makes me hope they come in women's this year 👀 could definitely get great use out of a black slub option.
Sorry!!!!! No women's MIJ's yet - we hear your though. Do consider trying the men's fits - jeans are jeans after all, if they fit they fit.
Great video as usual. Outfits are on point. Seeing the evo and having something to beat up and love and repair and wear is a beautiful thing, it coincides with my love for punk music and fashion (crust). The history and community make this raw denim space even better
It's amazing how raw denim can cross over into so many different scenes.
thank you guys for the black friday sale picked up my pair for the invitational from you.
You are most welcome! Thanks for being on team N&F for the competition :)
These are real Docs. Have the same pair and they are called Walden Boot.
New video section idea: Each week, introduce a new food item to someone on the team.
Barney's favorite bread is pumpernickel the purple dinosaur i watched 30 years ago.
Ive said this on the stream comment, even though Bahzad said to think about it, and Risa originally was asked 17 years ago why jeans are the most popular bottoms, and still has trouble formulating the best answer. Well, I feel the answer is simple. They started off as rugged work wear and for men, I still wear denim, mainly bibs , on the jobsite. (Bahzad, just a reminder that I would love a heavyweight pair of bibs with bottoms like carpenters pants, thanks)
But that ruggedness eventually carried over to mainstream wear after the days of wearing a suit and hat, which i still love, kinda ended in the late 60s. It actually started getting a little crazy, because women were even starting to wear jeans 😱. Because of strength, versatility, durability, and availability and the affordablility of jeans, they slowly became a staple of modern fashion, and were the go to choice for many. You can be more active in them without worrying about them looking dirty from kneeling to check yr tire pressure since they hide dirt well, and mostly because we've evolved our eyes into seeing denim as something that matches any outfit. The indigo rope dyed warp has evolved into a neutral color for many countries now.
Finally cost per wear. If you want to get a $50 or cheaper pair of wranglers at 14.5oz in broken twill, they are going to last longer and will be less expensive than a pair of slacks that you'd have to be more careful in.
Basically 4 main reasons; versatility, durability, availability, and affordability.
well thought out very good answer :)
Yes! The first MIJ true guy! Is the 12 going to be in the true guy fit as well?
I wish i could be in Vinny's mind for just an hour.

@@NakedandFamousDenim yeah he's good.
Pick up my 1st pair of Naked & Famous Raw Denim. I want to give a special shout-out to Vince and Terry for the great service at Tate + Yoko.
Tristan, I love writing with fountain pens, too! My favorites are Visconti. Your Kaweco looks warehouse-ready (delicate nib yet, sturdy!).
Oh those pens look fancy!!
I find fountain pens make me write neater. I've bought various brands, got mainly into the old English brand Osmiroid, especially the Osmiroid 75 piston filler.
@@WrightsW5 Writing with a fountain pen inspires more legible writing and is a lot more fun. It's an experience.
I need to join in on that email segment
We'd love to have you on the show - I can see it now "Stitching With Shane". And now.. Stitching With Shane - cut to you at the hemming table finishing off a pair of jeans. Hey I'm Shane, and you know what I think about while I'm hemming these jeans - insert your thoughts or gripes of the week. We can make it happen :)
Can you guys show us the hemming process in future videos? Very curious
Who goes from engineer boots to loafers? Garrett does, and you can't make fun of him for it till you wear 40oz jeans for a year, in the heat of Hong Kong, the winter of Montreal, and everything in between. I do wish N&F had a 25oz denim, that was a frequent thing. I was wearing my elephant 11s yesterday and they're beginning to feel normal, I kinda wish they were a one was instead of sanforized, the texture isn't as noticeable as the UB 22oz big slub, or even the 18oz big slub, but I do love they. My dream from a year ago finally came through. Thanks for helping me with that one Bahzad.
IMO, When people wear a pair of jeans nearly every day for months/years as it fades and contours to your body, the jeans can end up having alot of sentimental value to the wearer. There aren’t a lot of garments out there that can ‘tell a story’ about its wearer the way raw denim does.
No question about it, I look back at some of my old jeans and a rush of memories come to mind.
Damn Garrett im from Denmark.! So we are almoste family😅😉.
Thanks for, as always a great video.
I hope Vinny kissed my autographed mcnuggets.
He might have thought they were real...
Maxime, I stand corrected! My apologies for suggesting that your Doc Martens are knock-offs. Those must be Canadian-issued Docs. Ha! Vincent, thank you for the information on the 1460/1461 versions that do not have yellow stitching on the welt. " They certainly don't make them like they used to!" 😉 P.S. Don't be so sensitive... I'm not a hater, Vincent! I love you guys! 😘 I wish I had been blessed to work in such a fun environment. Thank you!
Oh we love you too! Vincent calls everybody a hater :)

Why we where denim jeans? 18:00
Howdy y’all, what’s better… weird guy or easy guy? I like loose fitting jeans…
Weird Guy is a regular fit, not too loose. Easy Guy has more room in the seat and thigh area, but has a narrow leg opening. If you want a loose relaxed fit you could try wearing the Weird Guy over sized.
@@NakedandFamousDenim perfect! I think I will go oversized on the WEIRD GUY.
I’m super delightedly thrilled to order my first slubbed out, selvedge, 100% cotton, Canadian - Japanese raw indigo denim MASTERPIECE from y’all today and also try for a 15 year anniversary pair tomorrow !
Sending much love and appreciation from Santa Cruz, California
for the 15th ann. denim will it be 300 pairs for each fit or overall?
also will these be sold at n&f NYC?
In total across all fits - and these will be at NYC.
Because I'm an idiot
When will the measurements for the anniversary jeans be posted
They already are, sometimes it takes a second for them to load, but you'll find them underneath the product description on each product page - tateandyoko.com/collections/naked-famous-denim-15-year-anniversary
@@NakedandFamousDenim thank you
Davis & Strauss intentionally invented rivetted jeans, and unintentionally invented the greatest garment ever.
I wonder what their thoughts would be looking at how jeans have taken over the entire planet.
@@NakedandFamousDenim Yeah!!!
Clean your knife! 🤣
13:45 Vincent pouring popcorn down his gullet from a box. In the back lol. I don't know if i could work there. I'd probably owe them money at the end of every week. Speaking of, I need to take some of the cash from under my mattress and add it to my bank account for this Friday still. Grama won't be mad forever. I feel like these are too special to pass. I mean a 15th anniversary only comes once. I can't wait for the 25oz 25th anniversary jeans. If they put in the same people in 2024 and print an keep having the federal reserve print large amounts of money, it should only cause the value of the money to be cut in half with the amount in circulation, so probably only $600 then. And no wages definitely will not match the cost of inflation, like now but worse. Acceleration. Invest in raw denim, not bitcoin.
We've managed to keep our prices pretty steady over the years - so long as we keep growing at a decent pace we can take a hit on the margin and keep the prices reasonably steady.
@@NakedandFamousDenim you guys are really decently priced. I was joking about modern day inflation being so bad that in 10 years because we re-elect a dementia patient( I really do think is terrible no one in his family is trying to stop him from doing this, but they're all probably getting kick backs) it will continue and $600 will be equivalent to $200 today. I wasn't knocking you. Many companies are charging over $300 a pair, and tho I can find beauty in their work, I just feel brands like iron heart are over priced.
PS maybe UB can make a well affordable 25oz jean? After wearing the 22oz for a while now, even going to the elephant 11s felt normal. Brave star has a decent price 25oz denim, but their fits are too low cut. That's the only thing keeping me from getting the skinny fit. I have smaller legs so I like a more slim thigh, but I like that they don't taper too much.
Sorry my comments are rambling like a Fri night live stream....
im just have ethereal levels of cringe going through my bloodstream at the thought of hanging a naked and famous poster in my house or my room and my parents or the whole family walking in and seeing
Different strokes for different folks
Clean ya knife 😂
