Hi Age of Vintage, how are you going ? This is a brilliant insight into the life of Omar Sharif. His first English-speaking role came when he was cast in Lawrence of Arabia with Peter O'Toole in 1962. He was nominated for an Academy award as best supporting actor, & a Golden globe award for best supporting actor & for New Star of the Year. Sharif was one of the many star's in MGM'S The Yellow Rolls Royce in 1964, playing a Yugoslav patriot, the film was a huge success. Sharif had his first lead role in Genghis Khan in 1965, the 4.5 Million dollar film unfortunately was not a huge box office hit. His next film was perhaps one of his most famous, Dr Zhivago the film was a huge hit & Sharif won The Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion picture Drama. Dr Zhivago remains one of the Top Ten Highest Grossing Films of all time. Sharif was also praised for his portrayal of Nicky Arnstein married to Fanny Brice in Barbra Streisand's first film role in Funny Girl in 1968. Other films included Mayerling in 1968 with Catherine Deneuve, The Tamarind Seed with Julie Andrews in 1974, Juggernaut in 1974, Ashanti in 1979, & The Traveller in 2009. Omar Sharif was an Egyptian actor of International acclaim, known for his dashing good looks & his many iconic roles. Omar Sharif passed away from a heart attack on 10th of July 2015 in Cairo Egypt, he was 83 years old. Thanks Age of Vintage for this wonderful video. Love Love from Australia 🇭🇲🎬📽💛💚💙💕❤💖💋💋💋💋💋
Omar Shariff was an exceptionally talented and exquisite young man. I’ve seen Dr Zhivago many times, and he’s just complete “ finery” and easy on the eyes . What a gorgeous man , and a soft voice. He had such a wonderful stage presence in his movies .

An unexpected meeting I sitting next to Omar Sharif, he next to his father, for an hour plus some 4O plus years(?) ago in Milan’s Linate Airport’s departure lounge, all flights delayed a snowstorm’s gift ! Polite pleasurable intelligent conversation in French English seasoned by the beauty that is Egyptian Arabic. In common our birth land and City Alexandria so Historically Impactual and rewarded so with two of the non ever erasable Wonders heading so much else. Flights took off he and father to Geneva I back to London. A ‘soupcon encounter’ not the less life memorable !
Faten was the love of his life, she died in January 2015 almost 6 months before him. However, he forgot that and kept asking (How's Faten) until he passed.. As an Arab we are truly blessed with incredible actors (even better than Omar) but no one ever lived up to his great Charisma. It's great to know he wasn't only loved by us. And I hope every great Arabic actor/actress get the chance to be recognized by the world.

Terrific documentation on Omar Sharif's life...well lived and well loved by the public, who enjoyed all of his movies. He was an important part of the best actors in Hollywood ! Nice job.
In Dr. Z when there is a human slaughter via soldiers….the audience witnesses the slaughter through Omar’s facial expressions….this is when I fell in love with Omar.
I loved Omar Sharif in every film I ever saw him in... He possessed more than extremely good looks and intelligence-though he had both in abundance. He was an unequivocally masculine presence, which made him irresistible on a visceral level (at least to this female), but also seemed lit from within: He had a lightness of being that shone through on the screen, and gave depth to his acting. I wish I could recall the title of the last film I saw him in, but I think it was French. He was an old man, and as charismatic as ever! His character was a Muslim named Ibrahim, who befriended a Jewish boy, who looked up to him as a surrogate father. His character dies in the film, and I found it so moving, so beautifully played... I’m still sorry that he’s no longer with us, but (especially for a smoker) he had a good run! RIP Michel/Omar: Your work here is done, and we will always love you.
Love your reading I suppose it is of or about these different stars, here specifically Omar Sharif! Love your accent also! My grandmother once played in a bridge tournament where he played in San Francisco. She said he was charming.
Great! thank you for that!
Thank you Janet! 🙂
Loved Omar Sharif. He was ideal for romantic roles. Thanks for this video. Greetings from Sri Lanka.
The best!!
Terrific documentation on Omar Sharif's life...well lived and well loved by the public, who enjoyed all of his movies. He was an important part of the best actors in Hollywood ! Nice job.
He was so handsome
Excellent video!
Did you know he did a National Geographic special Mysteries of Egypt in the late ‘90s? It was very enjoyable.
Loved him since I was a child!
My favorite Mayerling !! Great presence! Hunting eyes!
In Dr. Z when there is a human slaughter via soldiers….the audience witnesses the slaughter through Omar’s facial expressions….this is when I fell in love with Omar.
I once saw him sitting alone in a shadowy corner of the Madison Hotel in DC.
No matter how hard it was I feel that he was a lucky guy. Awm
Isn't this the height of nonchalance,
Furnishing a bed in restaurants.
Well a bit of dinner never hurt,
But guess who is gonna be dessert!
I love these lyrics and Barbra Streisand sang them so perfectly! 🤣
Yes..lol..
I was in love with Omar Shariff when the movie came out!!!
Funny Girl
Love your reading I suppose it is of or about these different stars, here specifically Omar Sharif! Love your accent also! And I’m assuming that you wrote what you’re reading and it is very good… sad to hear about Omar Sharif’s life in a way… But sounds like there were happy times, too!!! Thank you very much!
Thank you very much for your comment! 🙂 I hope you will enjoy my other videos too!

Elliott Gould? Not so handsome.
@@fearandloathing75 Now,In the 1960's he was very handsome.
He was so very dashing. I loved him in Dr. Zhivago. His performance was brilliant. Epic movie, a great sweeping drama. An added bonus is that if you watch it during the summer, it cools you off. Seriously.
I didn't know about it.
I did wonder how two eminent people could resist each other!
Handsome man. I loved him and Barbra Streisand in 'Funny Girl'.
Love the video, great photos ... would love to see shots match up more with story dialogue.
