I think you need to read the whole chapter to get the full understanding of why the man died reaching for the ark he died because it was not his job if you read it you would understand that every one each had there own job to do & the man was not appointed to touch the ark if any one is interested there was hundreds who walked out of exile with the ark this is not a good description or understanding of any of the story also you don't use bible references to tell your story's nice picture but nothing real

I believe you confused the story of the sons of Eli with Saul, if I'm not mistaken they are the ones that use the ark in battle against the philistines and lose it to them

I believe that God indeed used Ron Wyatt to find many many archeological discoveries from the bible including the true Mt. Sinai in Arabia (Galations 4:25), the Red Sea crossing, Noah's Ark, Sodom/Gomorrah and the Cities of the plains, and many others. He was well-respected by the secular Jewish head of the Israeli Antiquities Authority in the 1970's because Ron and his sons had found Caananite burial Urns--shedding light on ancient Caananite burial practices. This allowed him access to the Garden Tomb area and ultimately the crucifiction site which He was allowed to excavate with the IAA's blessing. Golgatha looked like a skull and had the cross holes carved into the rock which was above a Roman era cistern with Roman-era pottery and other artifacts. Below that, Ron and his sons found an elaborate 1st Temple-era tunnel system where the Table of Show bread and other 1st Temple implements were found; he did find that The Ark of the Covenant was directly below the site where Christ died. He believed that the subsequent earthquake destroyed the center crosshole, created a crack in the ceiling of the cave, and allowed Jesus' blood to sprinkle the mercy seat just. Around the same time, another symbolic event occurred: the Holy of Holies' curtain was torn from top to bottom indicating that Christ's sacrifice paid everything. Ron shared these findings with his friend at the IAA who, as he once stated, eventually found another entrance to the cave and is guarding these artifacts until the time is right. I failed to see the ark of the covenant was ever destroyed because you couldn’t even look at it let alone approach it without a priest, anointing and giving blood to the mercy seat . and given the history of it, destroying those who have stolen it, I think the ark would have destroyed whoever stole it again therefore it is easy to determine that the ark is still Hidden somewhere because it is also said that priest stole the ark and hit it during the Babylonian siege.
You are poorly led to believe the Arc of the Covenant is gone. It is in a deep cave in Jerusalem underneath where Jesus was crucified. There are angels there all the time to protect the Arc. I’m a believer so what I say is confusion. If you couldn’t look at the ark or touch it, how was it moved from place to place?
