In all seriousness, though: the Savanna Master was 5 tons and made way more sense than a *20 TON* DeLorean cruising along the countryside. Cheers for keeping it serious for a whopping 2 minutes, though. That takes discipline.
I love the post-script commentary! I've always thought there was a disconnect between the guy who wrote the copy and the guy who drew the picture. "Hey, we need a futuristic scout car!" Guy drawing it clearly didn't understand the "scout" part.
I swear I read about people driving around in gese cars in some of the books at least one on solaris, maybe i am miss remembering, or every car was a rotunda
Parking one of these at the foot of mechs that are intended to “Hold the line “ helps provide the line holder with the additional support from a Large Laser and a SRM 2 🤔 Plus the added kitchen and sleeping area allows for additional morale support for both units
Oh this is easy, the large laser are fires out of the headlights when you turn on the high beams, and the SRM-2 fires out of the fog lights when you turn on the fog lights 😀.
Didn't Kieran McKinnon drive one of these around Kentares with food and medical supplies for all the homeless refugees? I also think I heard he delivered a lady's baby in the backseat. if you dont get the nod, look up Helge Meyer's 1979 Chevy Camaro.
Large laser seems like it might be better off downgraded to a medium, and the saved tonnage and heatsink tonnage either ommitted entirely to make it lighter. Or replaced with armor or something. But I am sucker for LLs, and a car that can just hyperbeam through shit is pretty fun as an idea.
That low slung suspension means this scout vehicle is stuck on roads most likely. The large laser and SRM-2 are extra fluff. Maybe an April Fool's vehicle?
Yesssss. My favorite. Probably not very stealthy if it crosses a bridge or weigh station. Or someone scans it for neutrinos or waste heat off the reactor.
this vehicle was really cool untill you mentioned the weapons load out. Like, I love the idea of a fast af car with a few guns mostly for scouting but why does it need a large laser???? Wouldn't it make WAAAY more sense for it to be a small????
And I wouldn't have placed the entire car above 2 tons (that's already 4000 lbs, about double a normal car of that size). So 5 tons for a Large Laser seems a bit much...
Since those weapons are fixed they will be a bitch to aim. I can't really imagine this one to turn on a dime. I mean a 20 ton vehicle drifting to try and aim quickly ? If it's about a quarter of it's weight i might see it do that, But then of course weighing only 5 tons all you might manage is either a couple of machine guns, small lasers or a single medium laser.
in the infamous words of discount Dan "more doors for more whores"
It just looks like a cross between a hatchback and a station wagon.
"When you look this cool, you don't need to see anything!"

It's a cool car, saw a few of them for sale over by Uncle Bucky's Urbanmech Emporium.
Get some custom decals and a double heatsink and she is a real beauty I've been told.
They see me rolling they hating.
Sure it’s 20 tons but unlimited range with its fusion plant it’d be great for the commute

Then I shall keep the post recorded commentary in.
I mean the description did day it goes undercover.
I love that its designed to look like a civilian vehicle gotta love the star league
+1 internet cookie for transformer sound!! Fun vid.

Like some Transformer using its weapons in vehicle mode :D
Wow a locust on wheels
For the price of a Rotunda, even when new, you could buy several tanks and then throw a party to celebrate that you didn't buy a rotunda.

Many things to go wrong there really. It is still hilarious as a military unit.
@@CriticalRocket Good to deal with problem parkers.
A.k.A known as the PINTO

Hey in battletech mech pilots were known to cook themselves.
I never needed a large laser to steam up the windows of a car. All I needed was a hottie with her engine running! 🥰
merry christmas and happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly surprised it doesn't look more like a VW Van...

LOOORE! huf...wheeze.....run....runing out of breath....
