Thank you for coming to help us in NE Tennessee. Your service and that of everyone else at Grindstone Ministries is greatly appreciated here. One of your convoys came to help me fix my driveway access and clear fallen trees from fences. I got to meet that crew, including Wranglerstar, and worked with them to clear trees. I saw you in videos but didn't have the opportunity to meet you.

Deadly, I was part of the crew taking care of a large number of people who survived the campfire in Paradise. And the bulk of those people and there was 18 families they started out similar to these people in tents, finding homes with their family nearby, etc. What we found was that it took three Years for them to rebuild their house completely. The paperwork inspections, etc. was overwhelming. The rest of those people either moved out of the area or were able to take care of the house. They were living in that had minor damage. While it wasn’t flooding but fire they had the same issues with insurances and now insurance in our heels in California can range anywhere from $600-$1400 a month to live in that area. Some folks living in the hills are getting rid of their land just because of the cost of the insurance.

But Dudley, they now all are safe and secure and living their normal lives again. They’re living different lives in different places but they’re OK. These people will be OK and they won’t be living in tents forever. They’ll be living in a tent, temporary, and they will be moving on as they figure out their life ahead of them. People are very resilient.

Mr. Dudley! I didn't realize you were going back home, or we would have said goodbye and thank you in person. Maybe when you come back, we will get the chance. To anyone who is at the FOB (which is my church) thank you for all the help. It will take a long time to recover, but we will get there. We are trying to get everyone prepared for Winter now, so that's the next phase. Mud removal is a big deal because of all the chemicals that washed into the river. The generators, heaters, sleeping bags, coats, boots, etc will help keep a lot of families warm as the weather turns cold here. Many people are still in shock at the damage and just starting to realize what happened. Just to put this in perspective, our largest flood was in 1900 and the Nolichuckey River crested at 24 ft above flood stage. This flood crested at 33.88 ft. and took out a lot of our roads, bridges, power lines and water lines. Thank you Mr. Dudley and all of Grindstone (even Bear :)) for giving us a hand up when we really needed it.

Problem with that idea is that areas in yancey, mitchell,Yancey,, and avery counties got washed our. So there is hardly any room in the valleys to place trailers because the rivers totally washed away peooles land! Go watch videos of the flooding caused by 20 to 30 foot his raging floodcwate4s along tye cane, north toe, south toe, doe, nolichucky and French broad rivers.

@@harolddenton6031 I understand that. But there are other places the trailers can be put in the meantime so people have a place to sleep and stay warm. Lots of the areas have so much contamination that all of the homes in certain areas are being condemned. I have seen what you are talking about. At the moment people are living in tents. They can't live that way. The cold weather is there. They can't live with the contamination. If they setup the trailers in a parking lot. The trailers can have access to clean water. That way people can have a warm place to sleep, get showered, go to the bathroom. I went through hurricane Andrew in 1992 in south Florida. There were whole neighborhoods that looked like a bomb went off. They setup trailers outside of the neighborhoods for people. Some neighborhoods were totally not acceptable for months. I saw the devastation with my own eyes. Concrete homes totally blown down. Concrete blocks everywhere. Roofs destroyed in pieces along with people belongings everywhere. The office my Mother worked in was gone. My Mother got a job with FEMA. Back then FEMA was not like they are right now. I have been through many hurricanes living here in Florida my whole life. Those people need a place to live to get stability so they can figure out what they are going to do.

What transpired out in TN, NC, GA and now FL will st our entire country back years.
The cost to repair all the the infrastructure 110% and even improve it is Immense.
Then there is the toxicity element of the water, soil, silt and structures.
    Can it even be cleaned?

The Lord has to be our strength. Even though I am not there it’s heartbreaking to see the videos. Thinking the same things you are saying. That one man said their house was almost paid for and now they are living in tents. I can’t imagine seeing any of our neighbors in their homes floating past - swept away and watching them go under the water. We have lived here since 1985. Sometimes you got to watch a movie - something pleasant and get your mind on something else. Today my husband and I went to see that movie Average Joe. Good movie. Today I was thinking about Job. Though He slay me yet I will trust in Him. I listened to that video Bear Independent made, a little over an hour long and posted on 10-15-24 about what’s going on in NC and that was informative. We have to cast all our cares and burdens on the Lord. One day all our tears 😭 🥲 are wiped from our eyes. God says in His word that no one is promised tomorrow.

@@harolddenton6031The original weather model had Helene crossing the Florida area land mass then heading up the East Coast. I can remember mainstream media beginning to display a model closer to what occurred less than 3 days out with all sorts of caveats about it coming from an updated computer program and that it may not be accurate as such; it utilized more real time data and newer assumptions than the models based upon historical data. Even as Helene was reaching landfall in Florida, the old model was seldom shown but the new model was verbalized as being doubtful. I personally believe that anti-global warming based politics played a role in the lack of actual preparation by civic leaders. Further no one believed or wanted to believe the "Feds", no one wanted to interrupt commerce and jobs, no one wanted to acknowledge the potential devistation for the less populated areas, noone wanted to spend the upfront money, inconvenience, and damage to address things proactively utilizing the models developed using among other things the effect of the warming waters around Florida.
Dear 'ole Duke (Energy) realized Helene's potential premptively and actually spent money to begin to assemble crews before Helene hit Florida, Georgia, and Appalachia. They were arranging for Appalachia over the other two.

J.A giving glory to Yah. And that answered prayers for both of you with safe returns to your families. Also that both you and TJ have been open vessels in which the Father has used to touch the lives of so many people. I see so often in His word where the adversary meant to do harm in many situations and the Father used it to fulfill His will in the lives and hearts of mankind. My prayer is that He continues to strengthen and surround you with His wisdom and protection. Till we meet my brother. Here , there or in the air. My love for you is because He that is in me is in you. All for His glory 🙌

Thank you for speaking out about us here! I live just a few miles from Jonesborough. There’s so much horrific devastation all around me in every direction. Our Father is making miracles outta this disaster by way of His children! “Love your neighbor as yourself means so much more now than it ever has. Truly, Thank you!

I'm in Damascus Virginia and FEMA needs to go through all my freezers to see the meats we lost before we can get 750 dollars!! It's been three weeks we had to get it. Out before we lost our freezers too. God Bless You and yours for the selfless help.
