*Hi everyone! So quick little edit: my practicum forms were signed by the director of my program. Your supervisor and you take care of the supervisor agreement form.
Hi, how do we know exactly which practicum and internship forms we need to submit?
@@klarissa7407 Hi! It’s on the BHEC website with instructions for each form.
I found it! Thank you!!
@@klarissa7407 Awesome! You’re welcome!👏🏼😊
I appreciate this video. I just recently passed and I am in the state of Texas. You also provided consultations for NCE studying. Nevertheless, I had 2 sites.
My pract and 1st intern site was at 1 place
and 2 intern was at another. Do you have any advisory on form submissions? I tried emailing. Still awaiting answers for now.
so grateful for this video... I just passed my NCE and felt so confused about what all I had to do next
I think I just finished ALL of your counselor videos. I am in Florida and we are still called Registered Interns and we HATE IT. Like “congrats you graduated, you’re an intern again!” 😂. Your channel is very refreshing. I’m a plant mom as well and it’s so nice to see a private practice person here. Can’t wait to see more!
THANK YOU so much for watching!!☺️ Not sure who made that decision, exactly, completely agree😂
Thank you, so overwhelmed w the process. Graduated in Oct, passed NCE in December, got my Supervisor and now ready to start the application.
Deyanira, your videos are so helpful!! I had no idea what to do after taking the NCE and you have literally saved my life!! Tysm
That means so much, I’m so happy it helped! The stateboard has made updates since this video so there’s checklists and guides on their site to follow😊👏🏼
Thank you so much for talking about this! This has given be SO much relief as I am about to begin this process myself. I appreciate you discussing this topic in depth. I have been so overwhelmed with trying to figure out where to even begin. Your video lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. Thank you! You are amazing & I appreciate this wonderful content.
This meant so much to read, thank you for letting me know! So glad it was helpful☺️ Wishing you all the best with your licensing process!
This was great information! I am just starting this journey and will also document my journey. Thank you so much 🙌🏾
Thank you so much! Yes, I love that!!🎉🥹👏🏽
Whew!! I’m in Alabama and I looked at the licensure processes in other states and I think Texas was one that I was like never mind. Lol. I just got approved for my associates license and I did not have to submit all of this. Sounds stressful.
Thank you! THANK YOU! T H A N K Y O U ! I just passed the NCE yesterday and spent half a morning just getting STARTED on trying to understand what the next steps were. And wanting some clear and up to date guidance.
@@1973awg Congratulations!!!!! So happy for you!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks very much for this video!
It was crazy enough finishing the coursework for my degree that I hadn't even begun to apply for licensure! This video helped me so much prepare for the next step :,)
I’m so glad it helped, been there and completely felt those words. Thanks for watching and letting me know😊
Love a checklist format. Thank you!!
Thank you so much. This has been helpful.
Great video and very helpful 👍
Thank you for this awesome video!! How many average number of hours expected to gain per week do you recommend? (part of the supervisory agreement form). Thank you!
Has submitting the unofficial scores worked for others? Thank you for letting me know. I've just been sitting here waiting for them. BUT I need a supervisor still. So, I guess I'll just keep calm about it.
Omg I’m so confused. I’m in Texas and will start my mental health counseling here in the Spring. I’m confused because I don’t understand how can you get licensed without the 3000 hours supervised work? Sorry, I haven’t had the time to watch your other videos, but I will. The more I research about these licenses tho, the more confused I get. So many licenses, and every state got a different title for the same professional. My goodness!!!
Hi there! Thank you so much for this informative video! I was little confused regarding the Supervisor Agreement form. I am currently job seeking and waiting to find a supervisor at my place of employment. I am not sure if this is the best solution or to find a supervisor on my own. Any suggestions based on your experience? Also any insight if job agencies will work with you while you are in the process of submitting your LPC-A application?
Thank you for sharing🙏🏾
Thank you! ☺️
Hi. Thank you for your help. What is a self-query. Thank you.
Thank you for doing this
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching 😊
have been a LPC in Chicago and now in Texas, who do I get a License in Texas ?
Hi Deyanira, I thought the Supervisory Agreement Form - This form for the TX board approved LCPA supervisor you choose. But you said it is for both the practicum and internship? I am confused, I have been searching for a TX LPC-A supervisor before submitting the LPC-A application, is that the right order? can you help? Thank you
Hi! There's different forms and the texas state board has them listed for you on their site with instructions for each form. One of the forms is going to be filled out by either the person who supervised your practicum/internship while you were in grad school or your program director. The other form is for the supervisor you find to supervise you as an LPC-Associate. Hope that helps!
I have my Masters in Children and family. How can I apply for the LPC Associate
Thank you
Thank you for this video!
I have recently graduated and moved from another state to TX. I got my Degree from another state, so this process is different than where I am from!
I have a couple of questions, I hope you may clarify, as the board has been kind of unhelpful. What is a self query and how do you obtain it?
You discuss supervisor agreement forms and their licensure. Is this a supervisor you seek post-graduation, or is this your internship and practicum supervisor(s)?
I am struggling to find a job post-graduation in this new state and do not know where to even begin to look.
Thanks for your videos!!
Hi! Congratulations on graduating! The links to the self-query and forms are on the BHEC website. I know it can be confusing and I’m sure even more so coming from a different state. This is the link to the forms, hopefully this helps
www.bhec.texas.gov/texas-state-board-of-examiners-of-professional-counselors/applying-for-a-license/index.html#lpc-as
Also your supervisor that you you seek/hire post graduation will be signing some of those forms and I suggest emailing your program director to sign the practicum documentation form so you don’t have to track down any intern site supervisors but definitely do whichever is most convenient for you. Also as far as jobs go until you get your license you could try applying for case management or facilitator jobs in community mental health agencies. Hoping all of this info is helpful, thanks for watching my videos!
Do you mind if you can share your experience with me. I am in the same boat.

I moved from Indiana to Texas after graduating with my masters, and found the process here a bit confusing, but I think I understand how things work now a bit better thanks to videos like these and more research. I ended up just applying for QMHP positions which from my understanding is what I would call a Behavior Clinician or Case worker compared to my past jobs and experience.
Some places may even help provide supervision as you pursue your licensure, so those are important to ask in interviews
Hey! Thank you so much for this video! I've literally been using this as a guide and helping my other friends by sending this over to them. I so have 1 question though. I requested my self-query report and I sent over a certified electronic copy to the designated email address. However, I can not find the actual address to send it to in here in Texas. I have looked and googled but I have no luck and I do not want to send it to the wrong address and wait another couple weeks to redo it again.
I’m so glad it’s helped, I really appreciate that! Thank you! Yes I hear you, so if you go to the bhec website it says under lpc associates that the self-query has to be physically mailed to their office and the address that shows up for them is
BHEC
1801 Congress Ave, Ste. 7.300
Austin, TX 78701
It’s the only one I can see for them.
Thank you! I figured that was the address but I wasn’t for sure! Thank you again!!
@@TWoods170 You’re welcome! 👏🏽🎉 Good luck with your application, really happy for you.
Thanks
I’ve been a school counselor for 10 years. My degrees are in communications BS. And MLA. So do I need another degree in counseling or can I take the NCE?
Hi! You can look at the requirements to get your LPC-A on the bhec website because I think if you have a masters in a mental health related program and meet their requirements you can take the NCE. You could also message NBCC (who you sign up to test with) because it’s been my experience that they have better communication than the board. I’ve tried emailing the board before and to this day have not gotten a reply. I know it’s confusing, I hope this helps a bit.
what is the difference between an lpc-a and an lpc-i?
An LPC-Intern is what we used to be called, LPC-Associate is what we’re called now through the Texas state board 😊
