Hi, I use kitchen scale a lot, I've had like 8 already, and they all break after one year or so of use. Why would you think that the chip will fail, if that is sealed and protected?
@@InsideOutElectronics I opened the thing like you did. When i pull the beam upwards, while holding the base down, it shows a negative number. When i push down on the beam, it shows a positive number up to 66-67g, which supposedly is the weight of the glass top (I assume). The end fix for me is flipping the beam upside down... It now has a permanent negative sign, but it works...

Over the years i have only one fail. ThIs one. I believe they need to be handled gently. Any fall or heavy hit it can stop working
mine works when i lift it off the table... and shows negative number
nice, i have not tried to pull it to see negative numbers yet !
