      It is hard to explain but simply saying that these buildings are not just plain boring glass boxes on flat ground. They displayed more internal and external expansion/attachment, each floor is unique and filled with the evident of living.

    12:19 i recognize this place. I think the road leads to Jie Fang Bei? I used to ride a bus from Nan'an to Jie Fang Bei at least once a week and this was the route the bus took. For years I would look at the uphill path and wondered what the kind of neighborhood was tucked away behind the main road.

      It’s a human instinct to prefer closed areas over open areas, since our ancestors were more likely to survive in smaller, more closed places than open and wide places. Very cool fact to learn and it explains our comfort for places such as this.

      Chongqing is a mountainous city, just like Japan is an island country. The distance between buildings is very close, and there are few spacious roads. I don't know if it's because I am from Chongqing or because people instinctively prefer narrow spaces (similar to sleeping with doors closed), and I also feel very comfortable with this feeling

  • @97202

    I'm sorry I only saw this video now, it was taken very well. I have lived in such places since I was a child, and now I can find them in Chongqing. These buildings are about 40 years old, and due to urban development, they are also rapidly decreasing. Whenever I pass through these ancient urban areas, I stay for a long time, and childhood memories come to my mind. My grandparents, these old stone stools, and old awnings are a kind of sentiment. I am a local and currently residing in Chongqing. If you have any questions about the video, you can ask me

    Hello. I like your videos. Here is my feedback:
    Pros:
    Interesting and beautiful locations
    Good camera quality
    Good ambient sounds
    Cons:
    Need to increase walking speed
    Better to focus on walking straight forward rather than constant turning left and right

    • @streetsofasia8895
      @streetsofasia8895  4 роки тому +6

      Thanks for your feedback my friend.. Many people have told me they like that I turn the camera to show the surroundings, rather than just walking from A to B. I don't understand the point of filming a place if you're just going to briskly walk forward from point A to B without showing anything around you.

    Thanks for this video. It's sad to see how some people struggle in their life. I knew that situation in Chongqing isn't great but this looks really bad. So many poor people, so many bad looking buildings/apartments.

    • @97202
      @97202 Рік тому +1

      Friend, you really overunderstand. These are all old city areas, and the average age of these buildings is even older than you. I don't know where you see them struggling in life. Many of these old urban areas are inhabited by elderly people, who on average have one or more properties in other places for future generations to live in. Young people do not want to live here because it actually looks relatively backward and cannot satisfy their vanity. However, the elderly are unwilling to leave and cannot accept a new worldview. Here are their neighbors and memories for decades, This makes them feel at ease, and the security here is also very in place. I believe you won't doubt China's security. The elderly have pension insurance and medical insurance, and they don't need to work, so there's no struggle. They may have saved more money than you and me who are working, but that's what they left for their children. These buildings may not look good to you, but for us, this place carries the memories and emotions of childhood, because I am a local and we do not want these places to disappear.
      I'm not sure where you heard that the situation in Chongqing is not very good. I suggest watching less Western hypocritical reporting and promotion. You really want to learn about Chongqing, aren't there more videos to watch.

    Hello. This is Mr. Road View. I usually use Sony Action Cam, but DJI Osmo Pocket also makes awesome scenery! I hope this channel produces various views of asia country. and if you have a chance to visit S.Korea, I can tell you a lot of S.Korea's landmarks!

    • @streetsofasia8895
      @streetsofasia8895  5 років тому +2

      I love the Osmo because it is so tiny it can literally fit in your pocket. You can bring it anywhere. And strangely enough I am visiting South Korea next month! I'm not sure how much filming I'll be able to do though, as I'm mainly visiting a friend.

    God i love all the tight alleyways and the relief making everything leveled. Such a neat city. And the density really sets it apart from most Mainland cities in a good way.

      Hangzhou will be completely different from Chongqing for sure, but I've heard it's a very nice city. You won't have this "urban jungle" feel there, as it's one of the wealthier cities and isn't mountainous like Chongqing. Hope you enjoy your time in China!
