It had problems of corruption, unchastity, abuse, heresy, and bad catechism which is what led to the current crisis. If it were not so bad that it would not have led to this. What we have to remember is that holiness and tradition go hand and hand, but out of the two holiness is superior. If you have tradition without holiness you have a clanging symbol that sounds nice on the outside.
@@markushill8639 I disagree. God's grace is working to make many people holy in these dark times - since grace abounds all the more. Holiness is often hidden don't forget. Angels usually appear as humans to not seek glory, and only reveal their angelic nature if God wishes. Likewise, only a select few of the holy are shown as such when God wills it, while the majority of holy people keep their holiness away from public view. If you need an example, there is a very strict religious order hidden away from everyone. Most of their dead are found incorrupt and yet they don't even label their graves. There are, even in the world, many blesseds, venerables, servants of God, canonized saints, and those up for the cause who have lived a life of heroic virtue even in these terrible times. God never puts us in a situation where His graces are insufficient to make us holy - so the problem is us. Once this chastisement is over, the mainstream parts of the Catholic Church will return to proper externals. When that happens and before it happens we must work with what God has given us. Canon Apple - At my mom's funeral in 2010, at St. Francis de Sales in St. Louis, you said during your homily we should pray for my mom to go to heaven since she is in purgatory. Just to be clear, as holy and good as my mom was, besides going to mass daily and volunteering every day at St. Francis de Sales cleaning, doing odds and ends, plus more. I have no doubt she went straight to heaven since she loved God and Jesus immensely. She was a good person who had no ill toward anyone and never complained about anyone or anything. She always did for others like Christ did. We buried her with her prayer book which she used to say her prayers daily. May God bless you and the other fine priests within the Institute.
Assuming someone is in heaven might lead to neglecting prayers for their soul, which could be detrimental if they are in need of purification. (even if you think they are already in Heaven) It is fine to hope for someone's entrance into Heaven, but it is also important to pray for them.
I am not Catholics I am Buddist who are happy and highly appreciate the theology and the mannerism of Holy Lord Jesus Christ priests .The task of our Lord Jesus Christ fellows is advantageous for the world .We prayer for these intelligent young priests to stand firm and kindness with resilience to their work for the sake of the world in need .I appreciated since childhood for the learning and the every day praying in our classroom in Catholics school .

Does this seminary provide job assistance for seminarians that don't proceed to theologiate? How does this seminary prepare a student for a typical RC parish here in USA?
Hmm, one year, the first year, of "spirituality". Even this initial year is cluttered with every other topic and practice but "spirituality". Not only does there need to be a far more exact approach to this necessary "subject", but it needs to pervade the entire formation, and beyond. It is THE context in which all else needs to be placed. We need holy, and knowledgeably holy priests, not more functionaries.
Isaiah: regarding that first year of spirituality, the director went on to explain that it included Church doctrine, catechism, theology, introduction to theology, philosophy, Holy Scripture and other classes. I don't think we need to wonder if these young man will have a solid formation: they definitely will, by God's grace!
They worship YHWH, you know, the Biblical God. Of course, you sound like the kind that would accuse the Jews of worshipping the gilden cherub on the Ark if the Covenant. What other non-Christian drivel can you present from your non-Christian, man made sola scriptura ideology? Have fun sitting next to Jack Chick on a hot coal.
