That was very handy having him there for sure. He did offer to carry all my gear in the truck but I wanted to do that all myself. We did meet others out there riding it that had someone carrying their gear. Either way is totally fine. Just enjoy the journey!
@@mooreoutdoor9841 I just finished part 3 and the blooper of Don figuring out why you kept having flats made me laugh! I am also sitting here trying to figure out a way that I can pull this off and I think that I have the beginnings of an idea that might turn into a plan… gotta do some more figuring and comparing some dates. 🤔
I rode from Columbia to Weldon Spring last fall - my favorite camp spot of the trip was about 1 mile west of Bluffton, at one of those bench spots overlooking the river. The bench was nice as a table and seat for preparing camp, soft clean gravel surface, and even a bike rack to lock up to. I know it's technically not allowed, camping right off the trail like that, but for a respectful discreet solo camper I would highly recommend.
The rivers in northern Mo are very muddy. The further south you get the clearer they are. There are quite a few spring fed truly beautiful streams south of Jefferson City. Tavern Creek, Current River, Jack's Fork, 11 point, North Fork of the White just to name a few.
That was an Eastern Kingsnake. A very handy one to have around. They are non-venomous, but they do kill and eat venomous snakes. Along with mice and stuff.
The guy at the bike shop back home found a tiny thorn in one of the tires that was so small we did not catch it. Glad you enjoyed the videos! Such a great trail!
Coopers Landing is a rip off $30 for a tent and no power no shower and no water and the guy that runs the place is a jerk and it gets loud and lots of drunks

Exactly! My best camp site was at one those bench overlooks about a mile west of Bluffton.
I plan to camp at one of them the next time I'm on the Katy. They seem like the perfect spot for sure.
Nice job making the video and looked like quite an adventure.
It's a fun one!
Everybody needs a Don! He was a rockstar on this trip!

Looks fun. Brings back memories. I did enjoy the sections that ran along the river. The next time I ride I do intend to camp.
I did enjoy the night staying at the Turner Katy Shelter. It's just a shame there at no stores or restaurants in Tebbets.

We enjoyed the video. Looking forward to seeing the other two legs of your trip.
This one is part 2. I sent yall a link for part 1 also.
I will start working on Part 3 this afternoon. I hope to have it up around Wednesday night.
...I change my Maxxis for a set of Continental before I hit the trail.
Co2 is only good for a temporary fix. The molecules of Co2 are smaller than surrounding air and pass through the innertube walls.
Yeah but they go into the tube a lot faster
Sounds like it's time to run tubeless. Why anyone still messes with tubes is puzzling to me :)
I don't really know anything about tubeless tires. I honestly don't know the Pros & Cons about Tubeless.
Keep them coming. Did the Co2 pump work ok?
It took both to fully inflate the tire once. Worked great though!
Cottonmouth snake on the trail I see.

Great video. Did you find out what caused your flats ?

Thanks for the heads up about it
Dat shelter looked cool. You a dummy for not having extra tubes. You need to check the rim.
Boring trail
