JustAnswer Customer: I have a SMEG DF612 SDX dishwasher and an "Acquastop failure" has occurred.
JustAnswer Customer: This apparently is the anti-flooding system.
JustAnswer Customer: There is no visible leaks around the unit.
JustAnswer Customer: Where do I start to identify the fault?
JustAnswer Customer: Where is the sensor and what could the cause be other than a faulty sensor?
    JustAnswer Customer: Thanks Gary
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Hiya, Is the drain pump running all the time on the appliance?
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: If you reset the appliance and start a new programme, what exactly happens?
    Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Thanks
JustAnswer Customer: The unit starts and it sounds like the pump is running.
JustAnswer Customer: It then stops and after a few minutes the error lights engage.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Hiya, OK, thanks for that.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Assuming it's the anti flood device.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Unplug the appliance and take the inspection panel below the door off.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Use a sponge to remove the water on the base tray.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Once removed the anti flood device should reset.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: If it's a free standing version of the appliance, just unplug it and tilt it rearward about 45 degrees to drain the water out of the base.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: If the aquastop has been activated, turn the water off, take the aquastop off the house plumbing and lay it down as low as possible.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Leave it for a minute or two then reconnect it.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Turn the water back on.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Try the machine again.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Hope this helps Let me know how it goes or if you need more help Thanks
    JustAnswer Customer: Sorry, no go.
JustAnswer Customer: It is still not working.
JustAnswer Customer: I have already disconnected the plumbing and checked it was running and cleaned out the sump.
JustAnswer Customer: I have done it again but no use.
JustAnswer Customer: Where is the aquastop that you suggest I disconnect?
JustAnswer Customer: I have checked the filter on the inlet pipe.
    JustAnswer Customer: Thanks
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Hiya, If the machine is fitted with an aquastop it will be a lump on the end of the fill hose.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: It will be the item you screw onto the house plumbing point.
    Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Thanks
JustAnswer Customer: I think you may be talking about another device as there is just a standard pipe from the house plumbing to the dishwasher.
JustAnswer Customer: The "Acquastop failure" is the error description from the instruction manual.
    JustAnswer Customer: Thanks
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Hiya, Sorry, an aquastop is an actual device and your user manual refers to it.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: However, in the user manual, directly under the misspelled Acquastop, it does state the anti flood device has been activated, which is what I said in my initial answer.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Have another look in the base.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: The anti flood device is attached to the base panel and you'll see a thin tube attached to it.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Check to see if the polystyrene float has risen, activating the microswitch.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: If it has, there's water there.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: It doesn't take a lot of water to activate it.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Let me know what you find.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Thanks Fred Bloggs 40379.2922808681
JustAnswer Customer: Thank you for the information.
JustAnswer Customer: I have been able to fix my machine with your assistance.
JustAnswer Customer: For your information, I lifted the dishwasher 45 degrees back and dropped the pan as I found it has clips that hold it up.
JustAnswer Customer: I then found the floatswitch as suggested and activated/deactivated it rapidly.
JustAnswer Customer: I then successfully restarted the machine.
JustAnswer Customer: There was no water in the pan so it may have been dust or the water has dried up.
    JustAnswer Customer: Thanks again.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Hiya, Thanks for letting me know how it went.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Glad you got it going again.
Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Thank you for the payment, it is appreciated.
    Techdesk: Field Service Engineer: Thanks
