Short answer : NEVER.
Don't live in false hopes. This ain't going to happen & if somehow some miracle happens still you'll always be considered as 'BRIDGED', not a full blown Physician. So better move abroad & flourish yourself in Dentistry, It'll be a life changer. Trust me.

The problem with the dentistry is mushroom of dental colleges and resulting unemployment. , lowering of the standard of education..
The need is to produce quality dentists as per the requirements of the society.
Minimum 50% of dental colleges needs to be closed to reduce unemployment
The BDS course needs to made more comprehensive with 4.5 years of duration.
The preclinical and paraclinical should be 2.5 years with common medical subjects
The dental colleges should give post graduation in pre and paraclinical subjects of Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology and pathology .
Either the government should start bds bridge course or create jobs for bds graduate...... In india, dentistry is not like that in western countries!!!!

Or the government should include dentistry as a speciality after MBBS.......... My final conclusion to government ,, whatever you do, create jobs for dentistry,, beceause everyone is not interested in opening dental chambers

The main thing is to create job opportunities for dentist. In my opinion Gov should implement a plan like every private and govt hospital should have a vacancy for dentist,
instead of creating this bridge course.
But I always have a kind of objection that we are studying all the mbbs subjects till 3rd year but cant even prescribe a tablet for common cold or fever, Its unfair. bhms and bams are allowed to prescribe allopathic medicines also and bhms can perform a delivery after a certificate course in gynecology . When govt can implement new offers for AYUSH graduates then why cant for us. Dentistry is a branch of medicine and not less than a ENT speciality. It's a high time now govt should implement some new plans for creating awareness and jobs in dentistry.
We bpt also want prescription rights wr also read same as mbbs for 4 years

Am a dental house surgeon scb dental college I feel now frostating about our dental job scenario..if there is no jobs then why this course is introduced in the study..like other pg it can be introduced in pgs of mbbs course..
I'm totally in favour of this. Even I don't understand...why did they segregate? They could have simply added it in the PG. Atleast then the importance wouldn't have lessened to such an extent.
Yes, just in covid situation, shortage of doctors is being experienced. Even Delhi chief minister, Mr. Kejrival has allowed, final year MBBS/ BDS students to help doctors to treat covid patients. Each one though MBBS/BDS r being paid 1000 for 8 hrs duty and 2000 for 12 hrs duty. If there exist such bridge course for both ie MBBS/BDS, THIS WILL CERTAIN LY HELP IN SUCH EPIDEMIC WHICH WOULD CERTAINLY INCREASE SINCE MAN HAS CHALLENGED THE NATURE. THERE IS NO HARM IF MBBS IS ALLOWED FOR BRIDGE BDS COURSE. THE QUESTION WHO WILL SUPERVISE. WHEN ARMY, NAVY AND AIR FORCE, THREE DIFFERENT AGENCIES FIGHT SEPARATELY FOR SAME CAUSE WHICH CAN BE CONTROLLED BY SINGLE AGENCY INSTEAD BY THREE CHIEF. LIKE GENERAL MANIKSHAW SUGGESTED.
Absolutely ryt..bt when ..govt should start it during this pandemic BDS docs are capable of treating patients..bt govt is busy in promoting Ayurveda only
A BDS doc has studied all the subjects medicine,surgery, anatomy, pharmacology,..BDS docs fills the acute shortage of doctors in country..
Finally I understood MBBS is khatta angur for me I'm happy with my BDS now , I was getting greedy 😂😂 but now thank you for your explanation 👍🙏

Sir i think such strategy will create a kind of rift between MBBS and BDS graduates. Till now they both co-exist. If the lines of the area of their work becomes blur it won't be good for both of them. Rather than facing the issue of less job opportunity , disproportionate numbers of doctor/dentist in village and urban areas and crying healthcare system the government is focussing on an jugaad as u mentioned in the video.
This course is must.... bcoz there is unemployment in dentistry after wasting 5 years n alot of money no value for dentist.....

Simplest definition of bridge course in it's name only, stuck stop at bridge between 2 courses this student cannot get complete right to practice like mbbs student and also for bridge course they left bds so they cannot also practice bds inshort bridge course means stuck between the bridge of 2 courses and this bridge doesn't have way to come out

Once you opt for bridge course you gotta study so hard for clearing MBBS exam n then you gotta work in rural area as said...then again earning will b obviously less as compared to any doctor practicing in the urban area ...what is the point when ultimately BDS are the sufferers...n i agree sir what you said at last about the gimmick thing .....

@@anjanashenoy3047 i think you want to see surgery area in BAMS MS,, it's a big surgeries of EYES-NOISE-ENT etc.. ,, if you do BAMS MS,, your position automatically goes up from them,, BAMS MS >MBBS & BAMS MS >MBBS MD because MBBS & MD don't do surgeries but BAMS MS can do surgeries

Sir i am going to start my career in manipal college of dental science this year and my parents had promised me that they will provide me all clinic cost to build my own clinic should i go to bds will it worth?
I’ll suggest if you have money better do mbbs from private college. Atleast by the end of your graduation you’ll have job easily if not directly. And trust me being a bds m so frustrated. I know it has better picture in future but I don’t have funds. I’m thinking of changing my line.

My score is not enough to get a mbbs seat.. But may be a can get a bds cllg . And i m already a 2nd dropper.. So i was thinking to take BDS. Anyone here can guide me... If i get a govt. BDS cllg then. What i can do after BDS? Except for personal clinic. Is any chance to be a dentist in a hospital job... If yes.. Then approx salary? ...i m very confused should i take BDS course or not. I need genuine advice.. I already saw 2-3 videos.. But all differ from each other...
See let me tell u one thing.. don’t step into dentistry thinking that you’ll get all feels of a mbbs doctor. BDS is a complete different field, it is equally stressful as mbbs if u don’t fit in it. Ask a dental student about his prostho lab experience, it is so not like a doctor’s.. plus you’ll keep hearing from friends and relatives that dentistry is not like mbbs, “ did u take bds since u lost a mbbs seat”.. I was also an mbbs aspirant but lost the seat by the same mark cuz the other student had scored more marks in biology than me. Step into dentistry only if u ready to face the consequences. Dentistry doesn’t defend you, you have to keep defending your profession. All the best

Kya bds doctor prescribe general medicine?
Bridge course is completely remove by Govt in NMC act . Section 32 is implemented a/c only two cadre can allow practice the medicine at mid level .1 "Graduate Pharmacists" 2 nurse practitioner.they will be mid medical practitioner. Because this concept is well established in country like UK,USA, Canada .where "Indipendent Prescribing Pharmacist" prescribe the medicine indipendently even controlled substance. And should not be less than" bachelor degree in Pharmacy"
