    WOW! That is one heck of a project! Ingenious use of materials to help you out with your alignment! I didn't even know about the nesting feature...but I've scrambled things to save space, but when alignment is critical, I've not been able to and have wasted so much vinyl! This gives me a few ideas. I don't have a GlowForge, but the process of making an alignment guide is exciting!

    Excellent work. My only recommendation would have been to key the stencil circle, that way you know the circle logo is oriented perfectly in relation to the sign. Also, I wonder if a rubber or silicon roller would help push those letters into place so they don't lift off when you remove the stencil.

I’m unclear on one thing though... when you placed all of your lettering on the frosted acrylic sheet, it looks like the frosted sheet still had the masking on it. Am I mistaken? If not, how did you get the masking off if you already placed your lettering on it?

    This was pretty good and I liked the idea of the cardboard cut out. • @LisaPottsDesigns
      @LisaPottsDesigns  2 роки тому

      Hey Bill! Hope you LOVE your machine. When doing passthrough, the screen will prompt you to move it about eight inches, and at least three inches of the design should still be in the machine. After that, the Glowforge will take a picture and try to align. If it's having issues, it's more than likely moved too far forward and doesn't have enough of the previous cut in the machine for alignment.

      It was certainly a lot of pressure! I didn't put it on the masking. It had it peeled off on the side I was applying to. Since this is clear frosted acrylic, you were viewing the masking on the back side!

    • @LisaPottsDesigns
      @LisaPottsDesigns  3 роки тому

      Ah, yes that can be confusing. The 3M REPLACED the masking on one side. The acrylic was masked on both sides, so I took it off one side and used the 3M as the adhesive, but also makeshift masking for the cut.
