I hear you. Costco requires masks and sell them now $19 for a box of 50. They give you one if you don't have one. I wear a home depot n95 mask my friend gave me. I'm 65 with asthma. I shop every 3 weeks and suit up, wear a hat or a hoodie, take a full shower when i get home and put my clothes in a big plastic bag for the laundry. Shoes stay outside.

It was that issue that compelled those people to protest, despite the obvious risks involved.

I am from Canada specifically British Columbia where we’ve done an awesome job with this Covid. And I work in a hospital. Sadly your country is like a sinking Ship with no captain and nobody wants to listen.

As a fellow British Columbian, I have travelled extensively in the U.S. in the past, spending my tourist dollars freely. No more. My wife and I will never set foot in that country again. We can, with education. It is not a "sexy", short-term-quick-return type solution, but it is the one. Parents need to foment a respect for education in their children, if they love them. Educators need to get away from the counterproductive methodology of making schooling a form of student entertainment. But good, solid, and perhaps to some, even boring education is the way out.

@MJB For Trump Why is it always about people actually dying from it? The mortality rate is significantly higher than normal flu and let's be happy that it might not be as deadly as dreaded. It's still a highly contageous virus probably more so than quite a lot others. And dying or not if you develop a serious case you are out for good for quite a long time compared to other deseases.

Data clearly shows that it is at least helping to reduce the spread. Yes it might not be something to protect you but if i cough in your direction without or with a mask makes quite a lot of difference.

most of that money prob went to buying donors for 2020 november, thought the only oversight that was permitted by congress was sacked immediately by the administration .
The money went to helping hospitals, making masks, stimulus checks, etc. This also isn’t square one. Many people already have developed antibodies and if more people get the virus they will develop a natural immunity. We just need a vaccine so that at risk people can live their lives normally as well, but I am not worried. I feel like I can live my life because I am not at risk and I will probably only have mild symptoms or be asymptomatic and then it will go away.

Masks do not work! An N95 is made to filter air coming in, not going out! A paper mask is ok for about 20 minutes then it becomes a moist trap for germs and viruses, a cloth mask is worse, as the fibers get wet, and warm from your breath bacteria grows and grows until it's a huge petri dish!
I'm from a 3rd world country, msia and we manage to control it to 0 cases from 8k++ cases just by social distancing and strict stay at home order. Its not hard but its a surprise that US couldn't do it. Maybe its the leader or perhaps the ppl who too often talking about freedom of speech, etc which could possibly hampering it all.

The friend that was a CNA saw many of his favorite patients die. The hospital didn't care enough to isolate nurses to only covid patients and had the same members of staffing see both negative and positive patients. Wearing mask reduces oxygen level with at læeast 3-4 points, and no masks when tested was above the 19,5 level which is where it gets dangerous. Some masks lowered the oxygen level to as low as 17,5. No wondfer why child molester democrats who wear masks, also get sick.
@Heywood JM ha! my paranoid friend never left her house and when she did she wore two masks. SHE GOT IT. I leave my house all the time and never wear one and HAVE NOT GOT IT. Many stories like this. Also, 4 people I know tested positive and then the next day went somewhere else to get tested because they had no symptoms and were skeptical, guess what....the next day their tests were negative!!! Tests are not accurate, and neither are the statistics they give you. Just take your health into your own hands. If you are scared, stay home. BAM, problem solved.

I truthfully think that most people (myself included) feel this is, in most cases, a badass flu, if that. The severity of disease seems to be directly correlated to 1) prolonged exposure and 2) general health and well being of individual who contracts it. The problem is that we have a lot of generally unhealthy (including overweight, under exercised) people in the US. Probably about one-fifth the population. It's those folks we need to protect. Otherwise, people can avoid prolonged exposure and if they can't, we now know the precautions that need to be taken. My biggest fear is winter. With this kind of escalated spread in the US, how the heck are we going to survive winter and protect others and ourselves when doors and windows cannot be opened?

My job has completely laxed on the whole thing now. At the Restaurants i service - SOME workers are wearing masks. Customers are shoulder to shoulder- No masks. Im scared af.

Yes! So many people got fed up during the first quarantine due to needing to pay bills and make a living. Trump didn’t help with the stimulus checks. Big corps could have helped with loan and rent holds, but greed from these rich corporations and the people who run them didn’t do a thing to help either. People have finally realized the government (most all involved) are in bed with money and large corps and don’t care about the American people. Then outrage came and media helped fuel the fire for a new distraction (racism and white people bad). That’s not the problem not white people, not black, not Asian......not ANY COLOR but green. People who say something like that are not afraid of covid...they checked the flu numbers and made the rational conclusion covid isn't that dangerous despite what your telly says . You could do the same;)

So no, flu stats for this year haven't disappeared, and are not being counted as covid.
I work in healthcare and I have no idea where you're getting that they're just lumping any deaths (heart attacks, really?) In with the covid19 count, because it's simply not true.
The only thing I can think of that you could possibly be deriving this from is not being versed in medical terminology. Most covid patient do indeed die from cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest simply means the heart stopped. So if you see this on cause of death it's important to note the context, because this is actually how the vast majority of everyone dies.
Heart attacks kill the same way, obviously, but are called cardio infarctions. Which means death of the heart tissue leading to its impaired function to a point it's no longer compatible with life.
Where did you get these ideas from? Because honestly, I think you probably pulled it out of your own ass.
Covid19 is not the flu, treating it as if it were is incredibly irresponsible. Stop being a dumbass.
