Love the video and the settings You came up with. Just to let you know I'm part of the insider's program there was already a firmware update today that fixes many of the Bluetooth connectivity issues plus it gets rid of the reduction of volume of your game when you connect to voice.

This is easily the best and most detailed review I've seen on this. I actually watched the entire thing and was not sleepy nor did I get sleepy. Solid and very informative review. I've watched others where they just talk about now nice they look and sound more like a car salesman. This review did not sound like that at all.

I really like your headset reviews. They are detailed and informative enough without diving in too deep into the audiophile perspective. Your ability to explain things effectively yet thoroughly is impressive. It is great that you have also reviewed some headset brands that are not so widely known, such as LucidSound headsets. For example your Xbox headset comparison had a really good variety of headsets and therefore it was one of the best - if not the best - available on UA-cam in my opinion. I prefer your presentation over many of the other reviewers as well - personally, I hate the wannabe gangsta style that the UA-cam reviewers often seem to be fond of. I found this beyond helpful. I have been wanting to get a headset for my new Series X and have been on the fence about a certain few. But after watching this I am leaning a little more towards this headset due to all the cool features including the EQ and overall just great looking controls. Best and most thorough review on these I have found yet. I am still struggling with the decision of keeping these or my stealth 600 gen 2. I love the highs and the cloth cups of the gen 2's but I love everything else about the Xbox Wireless.
Thanks Balistik! The 600 Gen 2s are better for hearing footsteps and more accurate positioning. The Xbox headset has bluetooth and the nice ear cups of course, but it doesn't sound as good as the Stealths do.

Hey man great vids and thanks for the EQ configuration. My headset arrived yesterday and i used your config this morning on warzone and sound quality was amazing. I also paired them with my phone to use discord along with game chat simultaneously and was blown away at how well it worked.

These headsets are fire man for the price it's jam packed with features even top end headsets dont have.. I like the simplicity of it at 100 it's a great deal.

Thanks! I'm likely going to take a tiered approach for Xbox. It's likely going to be the best for $100 or less, $200/300 or less, then any price goes. I can tell you know I think these are one of the best under $100 right now. It get's complicated after that because some people like different features.

Awesome review! Thanks for explaining the sound issues and how to fix them. Most of reviews out there just complain about sound muddiness, but no one really tries to solve the problem and leaves bad scores to the sound quality. Really great job! One additional question: Given the drivers are tuned up in the EQ and we've got all those neat headset features, does it still make sense to consider any ~150$ Xbox specific headsets (like SteelSeries X9, TurtleBeach 700, Razer Kaira Pro or Corsair HS75)? Let's skip all 200$+ headsets. I'm about to make a purchase this weekend and based on all reviews, still cannot decide whether it's worth paying extra 50-80$ for the other brands. I don't really care about medicore microphone, the key thing for me is the sound quality & Bluetooth for phonecalls. Will use the headphones mostly for Xbox single player gaming, UA-cam, Netflix and work (video calls on PC). Music is also important (in terms of game background music like epic Doom Eternal soundtrack). Not gonna listen to any Mozart or Opera stuff ;) PS. I'm currently using HyperX Cloud II and I'm perfectly happy with this level of sound. Just wouldn't like to downgrade.
Thanks for the kind words Pawel! I wouldn’t be looking at the Stealth 700 Gen 2 for better sound (although out of the box it’s better for gaming than this). The justification of the 700 G2 is improved comfort (seriously the ear cups are insanely good), better microphone, and nearly double the battery life. I get almost 30 hours on one charge on the 700. For pure sound and functionality alone the Xbox headset is a great value. It’s up to you on if the other upgrades are worth the price increase or not.
Just an FYI. You do not need to buy the Microsoft wireless adapter to allow this headset to work on PC. If your PC has bluetooth built into it, you can connect to it via bluetooth. You can also just buy a bluetooth adapter if your PC does not have bluetooth built in. This is a cheaper alternative to the Microsoft adapter. Might be able to save yourself 10-15 bucks. EDIT: Awesome review by the way. I'm not a fan of the ear cups they come with, so I bought some replacements. They're the same size ear cups as the Arctis 7 headset. Amazon has a ton of choices
I've been using a50s yesterday I just got a pair of philips shp9500 with a nomad mic and theyre the best headset I've ever used right out box . In warzone footsteps are perfect . THEY ARE NOT BASSY . When you shoot your gun u can still hear everything else perfectly
mute light is what i would think it would be think of a studio the light is on when recording and off when not its the same thing so it makes sense to me.

I've just had to return my headset which I've owned since launch. One of the dials used to increase volume clean came off. I had heard a grating nose when changing the volume. I thought it was the mic rubbing against the dial but no. What holds the dial on is ONE of the flimsiest piece of plastics I've seen. It was only a matter of time. Anyway I've now bought the lucid l15x. Couldn't be happier.
Hi just watched this top review and the one from TB stealth 700 gen 2. In resume, which one would you pick, after EQ tuning, if both cost 100€? I just got my hands one both for that price each and I'm 50/50. I do think the TB has a little bit better sound (because of less bass). But the ergonomics on the Xbox headset are such a nice touch. I mostly play Warzone so it would be more directional to that . Anyway, thank you for the reviews. Earned 1 sub 👍

But sound wise, which of this 2 is the better one when it comes to games like cod (warzone) and other fps and battle royal games. The prize difference dousnt really matter. Withiut the prize, what would you recommend or which would you use?

Everyone is different cause our heads are different sizes obviously. I had these and like most headsets they hurt my head and ears after an hour. Mic quality ain’t great either according to my friends in party chat. They instantly knew I had a new mic and said it was muffled garbage. The features are sooo good though. Really liked the audio controls and multi Bluetooth support. Dolby atmos sound really good on these. But.... if they are not comfortable as a gaming headset...what’s the point? I went with steel series Arctis 7X and they are the most comfortable gaming headset I’ve ever had. Mic is better too. Missing Bluetooth and other cool features but I still got Dolby atmos. Oh and they work wireless with my PS5 as well. To each their own. If the Xbox is comfortable for you then I’d buy those for sure. Maybe you can try them at a store in person first....some day
Just found the channel and just picked up an Xbox series s. These do look like a great deal. Don’t you have to pay extra for Dolby Atmos? Curious can’t seem to find out how much that costs. Seems like it would be worth it though. Thanks for posting.
I really wish MS had hit the $125 or 150 price range and given it a better mic. My friends said the mic isn't great, and the mic monitoring is poor. If I position the mic in front of my mouth (obviously you can't wear the headset like this), they said the mic quality improved. Hopefully it's something that can be improved software side
If it helps they are doing Firmware update soon apparently that will boost mic monitoring and perhaps overall sensitivity. Otherwise the Stealth 700 Gen 2 has a better mic and great sound.
I watch a lot of your reviews, they are very knowledgeable and informative. I think u ought to do a video on headset audio formats vs Dolby Digital 5.1 The older headsets used to use the optical cable from the Xbox, this is how they achieved using the Dolby Digital format I think it’s superior to headset format. A comparison video would be lovely.

I just feel if we don’t raise enough awareness about it, that there’s a superior audio format out there for your headset, they’ll go the way of the dinosaur. All the new headsets now do wireless pairing, super convenient, but still restricted to headset format (2 channel) And I understand why, the next gen consoles don’t have an optical out port. But I’d say 90% of people are playing on a Flat screen tv, and all flat screens since the 2000’s have an optical out port. So firmware updates such as Astro’s audio over usb really weren’t necessary, unless your gaming off of a monitor, then yes the firmware update was needed. That being said, once u do the firmware update, it is impossible to use Dolby Digital 5.1 again, even if u plug an optical cord into the A50’s base station, audio is defaulted to USB there is no choice. However, if u do plug the usb cord into anything else besides the console, it will start to pull audio from the optical input, but then u lose mic functionality. Even if u don’t end up making a video about this, I think a person like u will find this interesting. U should compare for yourself between Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Atmos for Headphones. The only headsets I’m aware that can do this kind of comparison are the Astro A40 and A50’s and Turtle Beach Elite 800x, since they used optical input in their base stations. Since Turtle Beach never released a firmware update for next gen consoles, your still able to choose between Dolby Digital 5.1 and Headset format. Tho it’s not very clear how to go about this, it will make sense after u do it. Once u plug the 800x into the Series X it will detect the headset and say “headset assigned” It will automatically gray out “speaker audio” making it unselectable and change HDMI audio to “headset format” 2 channel. To allow u to select Dolby Digital again, u need to switch “headset audio” to uncompressed Stereo. This is fine because the audio is coming thru the optical cable. After doing that speaker audio is now selectable again, switch HDMI audio to bitstream out, and bitstream format to Dolby Digital. Voila, u now have 5.1 channels going to your headset and your mic works. The same can be done for A40’s and A50’s pre update But if they’ve already been updated u need to plug the usb cable into another power source, or the Xbox will detect it and automatically assign headset format. So many words 🤣 it’s probably all very confusing, but like I say, once u do it, it will all make sense And again, in my opinion, Atmos sounds flat and approximate compared to Dolby Digital, which is a 5.1 signal, having all its channels separated must be how it’s positional audio sounds more accurate to my ear.

I was considering buying this to use on PC to chat and play games but totally forgot that using the mic wirelessly is only possible in this "handsfree headset"mode where the audio quality goes down quite a bit,is that right? If you use the Xbox Wireless adapter ($25 addon) you can use the mic and headset in full quality on PC. The app on PC will let you customize the headset as well! Only in bluetooth mode will you have the mic quality issue and a slight increase in latency.

Great review thanks to which I bought these headphones, overall they great but I have one problem. When connected to a bluetooth device I can hear a continuous noise, mostly in the left ear cup, have you noticed similar problem?
I have these, yes, the bass is a little much, it's mind blowing there is a seperate option to add even more considering it's way to much to begin with. My only real complaint so far, I have these paired to my TV, and if I wanna use them to watch a show, it turns on my Xbox when I power them up, which is annoying. Not sure if there is a way around this, but if not I hope MS patches in an option to disable this. Another plus, very comfortable after a long session. Watched the 4 hr Snyder Cut with them on and they were great. Normally I'm not a fan of headphones for more than an hour or 2.
Lucids are a little more clear and have pretty amazing sound/openness to them. I would consider the LS50X over the LS35X just for the wireless stability alone. They sound pretty amazing.
7X is a great headset but it's a little finicky with placement of the wireless adapter. The 7X is the best value if you want one headset that works wirelessly on Xbox, Switch, Playstation, PC, and mobile (via headphone cable). If you are only gaming on Xbox, then the Xbox Wireless Headset is a better value. I think the Arctis 7X is a little more comfortable both initially and for long term gaming, as the ear cups breathe better so it's up to you if that's more important or not.

Thanks so much Syed I appreciate it. The headset actually comes with a 6 month Atmos trial. From what I saw, enabling Atmos with Game - Performance mode was the best setting to add. Otherwise, when off it works perfectly well.
quick follow up. the EQ settings you have are fantastic for games and metal, but they're really bad for rap and hip hop and R&B music. Highs are way too high and lows aren't low enough. In rap and hip hop, vocals tend to be higher and with these settings, the vocals pierce. In metal they're fine because the focus is the instruments, and these settings work well. Different genre's require different EQ settings as you probably are aware, so having it where you can save custom EQ settings would be fantastic. This is something I know they can add in. I'm 100% with you on that.
Thanks for the feedback. To make things worse, some hip hop tracks are so poorly mixed, if you fix the EQ to accommodate them, it kills the sound elsewhere. I have a lot of higher end audio stuff and have some go-to music playlists in Tidal Master that I'm very familiar with and use for tuning. In the end this EQ was the most universally applicable, but like you said it'd be great to have multiple modes to cycle through.
@@GadgetryTech that is something im noticing when messing around with sound. I did a lot of coding for the game engine called Mugen, and I would use different music for different stages and when I would use a hip hop track, and I go into audacity, you can see how badly mixed the sounds are. It hit me at that point, I was like wow, audio is really an art, and who are these producers mixing this stuff???

Question, does the voice isolation work with yours?, I recently got mine and the mic picks up all the background noise, compared to the astro A10, this one falls short when it comes to that.
How is the surround sound/ directional hearing for games like Apex Legends, Battlefield, COD? I play a lot of those 3 games, especially Apex and I have the hyperX cloud alpha pro wired headset and it stinks for directional audio. Before this headset I had the Official PS4 Gold model headset. It was wireless and had exceptional directional audio IMO all for $99. How does this Xbox headset compare to that? Does anyone know?

Good to hear. I had an identical issue on Warzone at first as well but I had a few other headsets on while I was testing things so I assumed it came from interference. Mine too cleared up and hasn't had an issue since.

I value in this order: comfort and quality of life, sound quality and connectivity ( i have both consoles). Right now im torn between Steel series arctics 7x, Stealth 700 and the Xbox ones. At first after watching your videoa, i was between the arctis 7x because of the comfort and connectivity, and the the Stealth 700 for the great sound and the cool gel which sounds amazing. But now you throw the Xbox one in the mix at a 100us and things get harder. At the moment, the arctis 7x stands at 120us on Amazon and Stealth at 149. I wanna know which one would you recommend between the Xbox official and the Arctis 7x with just a 20us difference between them. Are the Arctis way more comfortable? Great review! Question I’m having issues with the mic not connecting to my game right off the bat. I have it connected to my Mac while playing and for some reason it goes to the mac rather than the Xbox. It takes a while for it to work. Anyone else experiencing this?
Do you know if the ear pads are replaceable at all? I don't want pleather ear pads because they sweat and split and flake away over time. I've asked Microsoft "experts" and they don't have any info. The specs say they're 40mm cups. Could they be swapped out for other 40mm ear pads on Amazon?
So I have some good news! The Arctis ear pads fit perfectly. I swapped the air weave ear pads onto the Xbox headset and it works perfectly. Anything made for the Arctis ear cup (which is one of the most popular headsets for modding) should work on the Xbox Wireless Headset. Can it be used wired over usb on Android? xCloud bluetooth Im sure would be a latency problem but if they can be used wired on Android phones then you take away any chance of that being an issue.
Pulse is definitely more clear out of the box. I don't like how Sony puts all the audio controls as small buttons on the side, and the Pulse lacks Bluetooth. Before Microsoft dropped this headset, Bluetooth at $100 was not a thing at all. With that being said, once you tune the Xbox headset, it's a much better package overall.
I connected it wirelessly to my laptop but it doesn't pick it up in xbox accessories. Do you need to buy that dongle for it to read in that app? Picks up my elite series 2 just fine through bluetooth in that app without the dongle
You need to use a USB-C cable or purchase the official Xbox Wireless Adapter. If you just want to tune it, use the USB-C cable to tune, then you're good to go. The headset has memory built in and will keep your EQ settings even when using it on Bluetooth.

Thanks! Dolby Atmos enabled - Game Mode+Performance. Nothing else needed there. Otherwise these still work incredibly well with Atmos off too.

I found this beyond helpful. I have been wanting to get a headset for my new Series X and have been on the fence about a certain few. But after watching this I am leaning a little more towards this headset due to all the cool features including the EQ and overall just great looking controls. Best and most thorough review on these I have found yet. I am still struggling with the decision of keeping these or my stealth 600 gen 2. I love the highs and the cloth cups of the gen 2's but I love everything else about the Xbox Wireless.
Thanks Balistik! The 600 Gen 2s are better for hearing footsteps and more accurate positioning. The Xbox headset has bluetooth and the nice ear cups of course, but it doesn't sound as good as the Stealths do.

Hey man great vids and thanks for the EQ configuration. My headset arrived yesterday and i used your config this morning on warzone and sound quality was amazing. I also paired them with my phone to use discord along with game chat simultaneously and was blown away at how well it worked.

Thanks! I'm likely going to take a tiered approach for Xbox. It's likely going to be the best for $100 or less, $200/300 or less, then any price goes. I can tell you know I think these are one of the best under $100 right now. It get's complicated after that because some people like different features.

Awesome review! Thanks for explaining the sound issues and how to fix them. Most of reviews out there just complain about sound muddiness, but no one really tries to solve the problem and leaves bad scores to the sound quality. Really great job!

Given the drivers are tuned up in the EQ and we've got all those neat headset features, does it still make sense to consider any ~150$ Xbox specific headsets (like SteelSeries X9, TurtleBeach 700, Razer Kaira Pro or Corsair HS75)? Let's skip all 200$+ headsets.
I'm about to make a purchase this weekend and based on all reviews, still cannot decide whether it's worth paying extra 50-80$ for the other brands.
I don't really care about medicore microphone, the key thing for me is the sound quality & Bluetooth for phonecalls. Will use the headphones mostly for Xbox single player gaming, UA-cam, Netflix and work (video calls on PC). Music is also important (in terms of game background music like epic Doom Eternal soundtrack). Not gonna listen to any Mozart or Opera stuff ;)
PS. I'm currently using HyperX Cloud II and I'm perfectly happy with this level of sound. Just wouldn't like to downgrade.
Thanks for the kind words Pawel! I wouldn’t be looking at the Stealth 700 Gen 2 for better sound (although out of the box it’s better for gaming than this). The justification of the 700 G2 is improved comfort (seriously the ear cups are insanely good), better microphone, and nearly double the battery life. I get almost 30 hours on one charge on the 700. For pure sound and functionality alone the Xbox headset is a great value. It’s up to you on if the other upgrades are worth the price increase or not.
Just an FYI. You do not need to buy the Microsoft wireless adapter to allow this headset to work on PC. If your PC has bluetooth built into it, you can connect to it via bluetooth. You can also just buy a bluetooth adapter if your PC does not have bluetooth built in. This is a cheaper alternative to the Microsoft adapter. Might be able to save yourself 10-15 bucks.
EDIT: Awesome review by the way. I'm not a fan of the ear cups they come with, so I bought some replacements. They're the same size ear cups as the Arctis 7 headset. Amazon has a ton of choices

I've been using a50s yesterday I just got a pair of philips shp9500 with a nomad mic and theyre the best headset I've ever used right out box . In warzone footsteps are perfect . THEY ARE NOT BASSY . When you shoot your gun u can still hear everything else perfectly
mute light is what i would think it would be think of a studio the light is on when recording and off when not its the same thing so it makes sense to me.

I've just had to return my headset which I've owned since launch. One of the dials used to increase volume clean came off. I had heard a grating nose when changing the volume. I thought it was the mic rubbing against the dial but no. What holds the dial on is ONE of the flimsiest piece of plastics I've seen. It was only a matter of time. Anyway I've now bought the lucid l15x. Couldn't be happier.

I just got my hands one both for that price each and I'm 50/50. I do think the TB has a little bit better sound (because of less bass). But the ergonomics on the Xbox headset are such a nice touch.
I mostly play Warzone so it would be more directional to that .

Everyone is different cause our heads are different sizes obviously. I had these and like most headsets they hurt my head and ears after an hour.
Mic quality ain’t great either according to my friends in party chat. They instantly knew I had a new mic and said it was muffled garbage.
The features are sooo good though. Really liked the audio controls and multi Bluetooth support.
Dolby atmos sound really good on these.
But.... if they are not comfortable as a gaming headset...what’s the point?
I went with steel series Arctis 7X and they are the most comfortable gaming headset I’ve ever had. Mic is better too. Missing Bluetooth and other cool features but I still got Dolby atmos. Oh and they work wireless with my PS5 as well. To each their own.
If the Xbox is comfortable for you then I’d buy those for sure. Maybe you can try them at a store in person first....some day

The original launch included Atmos for only 6 months. I’m not sure if they still offer that but it is still considered separate
Dolby Atmos is a one time fee of $14.99.
I really wish MS had hit the $125 or 150 price range and given it a better mic. My friends said the mic isn't great, and the mic monitoring is poor. If I position the mic in front of my mouth (obviously you can't wear the headset like this), they said the mic quality improved. Hopefully it's something that can be improved software side
If it helps they are doing Firmware update soon apparently that will boost mic monitoring and perhaps overall sensitivity. Otherwise the Stealth 700 Gen 2 has a better mic and great sound.

You’re right about it confusing people. I just feel if we don’t raise enough awareness about it, that there’s a superior audio format out there for your headset, they’ll go the way of the dinosaur. All the new headsets now do wireless pairing, super convenient, but still restricted to headset format (2 channel)
And I understand why, the next gen consoles don’t have an optical out port. But I’d say 90% of people are playing on a Flat screen tv, and all flat screens since the 2000’s have an optical out port. So firmware updates such as Astro’s audio over usb really weren’t necessary, unless your gaming off of a monitor, then yes the firmware update was needed.
That being said, once u do the firmware update, it is impossible to use Dolby Digital 5.1 again, even if u plug an optical cord into the A50’s base station, audio is defaulted to USB there is no choice. However, if u do plug the usb cord into anything else besides the console, it will start to pull audio from the optical input, but then u lose mic functionality.
Even if u don’t end up making a video about this, I think a person like u will find this interesting. U should compare for yourself between Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Atmos for Headphones.
The only headsets I’m aware that can do this kind of comparison are the Astro A40 and A50’s and Turtle Beach Elite 800x, since they used optical input in their base stations.
Since Turtle Beach never released a firmware update for next gen consoles, your still able to choose between Dolby Digital 5.1 and Headset format.
Tho it’s not very clear how to go about this, it will make sense after u do it.
Once u plug the 800x into the Series X it will detect the headset and say “headset assigned”
It will automatically gray out “speaker audio” making it unselectable and change HDMI audio to “headset format” 2 channel.
To allow u to select Dolby Digital again, u need to switch “headset audio” to uncompressed Stereo. This is fine because the audio is coming thru the optical cable. After doing that speaker audio is now selectable again, switch HDMI audio to bitstream out, and bitstream format to Dolby Digital. Voila, u now have 5.1 channels going to your headset and your mic works.
The same can be done for A40’s and A50’s pre update
But if they’ve already been updated u need to plug the usb cable into another power source, or the Xbox will detect it and automatically assign headset format.
So many words 🤣 it’s probably all very confusing, but like I say, once u do it, it will all make sense
And again, in my opinion, Atmos sounds flat and approximate compared to Dolby Digital, which is a 5.1 signal, having all its channels separated must be how it’s positional audio sounds more accurate to my ear.

If you use the Xbox Wireless adapter ($25 addon) you can use the mic and headset in full quality on PC. The app on PC will let you customize the headset as well! Only in bluetooth mode will you have the mic quality issue and a slight increase in latency.

Great review thanks to which I bought these headphones, overall they great but I have one problem. When connected to a bluetooth device I can hear a continuous noise, mostly in the left ear cup, have you noticed similar problem?
I have these, yes, the bass is a little much, it's mind blowing there is a seperate option to add even more considering it's way to much to begin with. My only real complaint so far, I have these paired to my TV, and if I wanna use them to watch a show, it turns on my Xbox when I power them up, which is annoying. Not sure if there is a way around this, but if not I hope MS patches in an option to disable this. Another plus, very comfortable after a long session. Watched the 4 hr Snyder Cut with them on and they were great. Normally I'm not a fan of headphones for more than an hour or 2.

Lucids are a little more clear and have pretty amazing sound/openness to them. I would consider the LS50X over the LS35X just for the wireless stability alone. They sound pretty amazing.

How would you pair this to the arctis 7x.
7X is a great headset but it's a little finicky with placement of the wireless adapter. The 7X is the best value if you want one headset that works wirelessly on Xbox, Switch, Playstation, PC, and mobile (via headphone cable). If you are only gaming on Xbox, then the Xbox Wireless Headset is a better value. I think the Arctis 7X is a little more comfortable both initially and for long term gaming, as the ear cups breathe better so it's up to you if that's more important or not.

Thanks so much Syed I appreciate it. The headset actually comes with a 6 month Atmos trial. From what I saw, enabling Atmos with Game - Performance mode was the best setting to add. Otherwise, when off it works perfectly well.

quick follow up. the EQ settings you have are fantastic for games and metal, but they're really bad for rap and hip hop and R&B music. Highs are way too high and lows aren't low enough. In rap and hip hop, vocals tend to be higher and with these settings, the vocals pierce. In metal they're fine because the focus is the instruments, and these settings work well. Different genre's require different EQ settings as you probably are aware, so having it where you can save custom EQ settings would be fantastic. This is something I know they can add in. I'm 100% with you on that.
Thanks for the feedback. To make things worse, some hip hop tracks are so poorly mixed, if you fix the EQ to accommodate them, it kills the sound elsewhere. I have a lot of higher end audio stuff and have some go-to music playlists in Tidal Master that I'm very familiar with and use for tuning. In the end this EQ was the most universally applicable, but like you said it'd be great to have multiple modes to cycle through.
@@GadgetryTech that is something im noticing when messing around with sound. I did a lot of coding for the game engine called Mugen, and I would use different music for different stages and when I would use a hip hop track, and I go into audacity, you can see how badly mixed the sounds are. It hit me at that point, I was like wow, audio is really an art, and who are these producers mixing this stuff???

How is the surround sound/ directional hearing for games like Apex Legends, Battlefield, COD? I play a lot of those 3 games, especially Apex and I have the hyperX cloud alpha pro wired headset and it stinks for directional audio. Before this headset I had the Official PS4 Gold model headset. It was wireless and had exceptional directional audio IMO all for $99. How does this Xbox headset compare to that? Does anyone know?

Bro... I love your reviews, but you are so positive about everything that now im torn on what to buy. I have 100-150 budget. I value in this order: comfort and quality of life, sound quality and connectivity ( i have both consoles). Right now im torn between Steel series arctics 7x, Stealth 700 and the Xbox ones. At first after watching your videoa, i was between the arctis 7x because of the comfort and connectivity, and the the Stealth 700 for the great sound and the cool gel which sounds amazing. But now you throw the Xbox one in the mix at a 100us and things get harder. At the moment, the arctis 7x stands at 120us on Amazon and Stealth at 149. I wanna know which one would you recommend between the Xbox official and the Arctis 7x with just a 20us difference between them. Are the Arctis way more comfortable? Great review! Question I’m having issues with the mic not connecting to my game right off the bat. I have it connected to my Mac while playing and for some reason it goes to the mac rather than the Xbox. It takes a while for it to work. Anyone else experiencing this?

Do you know if the ear pads are replaceable at all? I don't want pleather ear pads because they sweat and split and flake away over time. I've asked Microsoft "experts" and they don't have any info. The specs say they're 40mm cups. Could they be swapped out for other 40mm ear pads on Amazon?
So I have some good news! The Arctis ear pads fit perfectly. I swapped the air weave ear pads onto the Xbox headset and it works perfectly. Anything made for the Arctis ear cup (which is one of the most popular headsets for modding) should work on the Xbox Wireless Headset. Can it be used wired over usb on Android? xCloud bluetooth Im sure would be a latency problem but if they can be used wired on Android phones then you take away any chance of that being an issue.
How does it compare to the pulse 3D headset?
Pulse is definitely more clear out of the box. I don't like how Sony puts all the audio controls as small buttons on the side, and the Pulse lacks Bluetooth. Before Microsoft dropped this headset, Bluetooth at $100 was not a thing at all. With that being said, once you tune the Xbox headset, it's a much better package overall.
I connected it wirelessly to my laptop but it doesn't pick it up in xbox accessories. Do you need to buy that dongle for it to read in that app? Picks up my elite series 2 just fine through bluetooth in that app without the dongle
You need to use a USB-C cable or purchase the official Xbox Wireless Adapter. If you just want to tune it, use the USB-C cable to tune, then you're good to go. The headset has memory built in and will keep your EQ settings even when using it on Bluetooth.
