What is the S.F.M. And feed rate for this drill ? I also notice you have an insert so you don’t have to center drill the part first. But I would still center drill the part first .
if you work on milling machines or CNC with an auto tool changer ISCAR is the BEST TOP of line tools you can buy. if you know the right speeds these tools can last a LONG time. Lockheed Martin and Bowing use these tools on all their CNC's. some hardened steel like D2 don't use cooling at all. these cutting tools are used in aerospace industries Very often. I run 7 CNC's with an auto tool changer at once. Very seldom will these tools break, if it happens often you must be doing something wrong. or the spindle is worn out. yes, they are expensive. but its well worth the money. these tools are NOT made in China. its made in Israel with super high precision. they even have a super high-end line with impregnated tungsten carbide. you can cut ANYTHING with those tools......

Austriaball really? i had no idea... good to know. at ny shop we only used hss drills and multi insert sandvik drills. i digured that the single insert drills were useless cause we didnt use them. how very close minded of me

He has no idea what he's talking about. You can get drills in double the XD ratio, and you can feed it more than triple the feed/rev.
