- Statement from Merseyside fire: “Firefighters have been called to a fire this afternoon at Trinity Catholic Primary school, Titchfield Street near Vauxhall Road, Liverpool
Crews were alerted at 14.25 and were on scene at 14.29.
On arrival crews found a large fire in progress involving the school building.
Five engines a combined platform ladder and a command unit are attending the scene and four main branch jets are being used to tackle the fire.”

Merseyside Fire & Rescue is the only service in the UK who think they should use navy blue for some of their emergency vehicles instead of red. Just to confuse the general public further the writing on them is yellow so at first glance they closely match the corporate colours used by HM Coastguard.

WTF is an operational assurance officer, it all went tits up when the Home Office decided to rename the whole rank structure. We are becoming so Americanised in the fire service, we don't have appliances anymore we have trucks and every third firefighter has a tabard with a long winded stupid function printed on it.
Thank goodness it’s disused it happened on a Saturday anyway if it was used bang drive down to Liverpool
