My ancestors came from Country Cork in the 1890’s. They were O’Connors. Some went to New York and some to Minnesota. We have a family cemetery here in Minnesota.
"The synthetic world of cinema and television....." "The civil war without guns...... That poisoned and revolutionized our society." There's a wise man.
He could have mentioned how close Cork is to sea-level. Only 4 centuries ago Patrick Street and the Grand Parade and the South Mall were esturine rivers. At high tide you could row down (the now) Patrick Street in your boat, turn left and row along the Grand Parade , turn left again and row along the South Mall. All reclaimed now....but terrifyingly near the High-Tide mark still. The street in front of the Mercy Hospital...Henry Street... was also a river back then.
Jane Manesfeild visited cork in the 60s which she described as a cemetary with lights😂...have to say it is my favourite city in Ireland now and quite vibrant,to late for Jane unfotunatly..😅
Who where the Cramer family from Cork? That's my grandfather's father's side DNA through a man name Ambrose Nicolas Yates (Cramer) he took up a man that wasn't his father last name which was (Yates) so my DNA & last name should be of a Cramer.
Aye I notice that a wile lot too no matter where I go in the world. Funnily enough when you ask them why didn't they stay in it they have nothing to say 😂

Could listen to his dulcet tones all day...He has a way with words..

P.S. The winding shape of Patrick Street was not an architect's fancy design....the street follows the route of the old river.
@@petergibson2318 ah yes that makes sense

Never knew there was a racetrack at the Ford site..
Centre park Rd. is a road through the middle of that racetrack. The track eventually made way for the Ford tractor plant.
I never knew J.J. Horgan made it onto TV. He had a long career & wrote a lot. He was in charge of the Cork harbour board.
Without Cork Ireland would sink
Never set foot in the kip and no intention of doing so ever.
Whining stnuc.
That is completely correct. When the sea level rises so will Cork City, Cork will never sink
the real Capital
Dumb idiotic statement.
Cork is going to build the first underground rail system In Ireland.
My beautiful city
When the sea level rises so will Cork City, Cork will never sink
Echoing Dan Healy, the real capital.
Does anyone know who narrated this clip?
Rory Gallagher hung out there in his youth!

If only they could see the state of the place now lol
Please tell?
They are the most arrogant people you could ever meet, and i'm from Cork.
Q How do you know someone is from Cork? A Don't worry they'll tell you.

You haven't met me yet. Under my bucolic façade of jaded kindliness lies a true man of Cork and Ireland.
Whereabouts Dave?
