Hello everyone, I apologize for the cold. I felt like I had to clarify myself a little bit here regarding my previous videos. Anyway, let me know your thoughts on this version of this song, I really prefer the live version. Thank you all so much! Y'all Keep TCB'ing!
Hi Eric, your kitty cat is super cute😍 Well, I don't know the story behind the fading, but what I do know is that I love Elvis any ways, "plain, fried or scrambled", just to quote him (from 'Wild in the Country'). And he was so playful during live performances🤣: I laugh so much watching the 'I-hope- this-suit-don't-tear-up, baby' scene from 'Ahloa Concert'🤣 or: 'I've never lied to you - not that much'🤣🤣 Great, just great! Recover from your cold and TCB, Eric! Thanks for sharing👍🤗
Hi Anna! I've been telling her about all the comments she's been getting, she doesn't seem too have the time to be bothered by the sudden fame haha! I definitely like the live version better myself. I'm feeling much better thanks!
Surely there's nothing like seeing him do this live, but I find something very soothing about this slow version & hearing his voice slowed down. I read the fade out/fade-in story long ago -- can't recall all the little details but the article said something to the effect that -- per Chips Moman -- Jarvis wasn't happy with Elvis recording at American Sound Studio, that it was a control thing & he decided to add that fade-out to the song that lasted about 15 seconds before fading back in. What I found really interesting is that regarding his live performance, the article said Elvis didn't know the fade-out was going to happen. Whether that's correct or not, as w-all things Elvis, will we ever know truths. Whatever, I love it -- it's a very unique & great finish for that particular song, both for the live performance, which gives it an air of mystery, & on the recording. (Btw, I just searched you out since there was no notice.) Adorable cat. Missing mine a lot since losing her last May. But she had a very good 15 yrs.
Hi Carol! YES! That's the story I was trying to recall, Jarvis was pissed he didn't have total control because of Elvis recording at American Sound Studio. From what I remember reading or seeing, Elvis or maybe it was Parker didn't like the pause and wanted it removed but lost the battle somehow and it stayed in. If anything, whether he knew the pause was there or not, he surely forgot it when it came to doing it live, especially for the first time, haha, we all know him! Sorry about your kitty, mine will be 8 next month, seems like I just brought her home yesterday!
@@TCBEric Like I said, I think it was very fitting for the performance & even for the recording. Where else have you ever heard or seen anyone do anything remotely like that - very unique, very special. In fact, I don't know that anyone could pull it off - it might look ridiculous & make you say what the heck is going on. But it was perfect for him. I've seen many reactors stop the video once it goes black & those who let it go get a real shock seeing that finish. Oh, I took a couple of screen shots & now you & your kitty are in a folder.
I can imagine some people aren't expecting it to start up again! Haha! I've been passing along all the comments about her to her, she doesn't seem too bothered by the fame... Haha! Thanks Carol.
Thanks! Feeling a little better today, but not by much. From what's been going around at work the worst part lasts about 4 days, today is day 4, so hopefully I'll be on the down slope soon. Mow mow says Hi🐱! haha
No confusion whatsoever on my part about Moody blue topping the country charts and I’m really glad you did that video because all I knew was suspicious minds was Elvis Presley‘s last number one hit in 1969. How about playing the album version of suspicious minds and the live version That could make for a lively discussion in the comment section. Coincidentally my cat was pestering me while I was trying to watch this video 🐈⬛💨. Thanks for the wonderful video Eric. 🏎️🏁⚡️
Thanks Dave! I got bombarded in the comments about Suspicious Minds being his last number 1 hit. And I felt obligated to say everyone is right. His last Hit 100 was Suspicious Minds, his last Hot Country 100 was Moody Blue. I knew you probably got what I meant. Haha, my cat will usually lay at my feet while I'm doing a video, but this time she must have wanted some attention, so I obliged! Love my cats!
How lovely to see your pretty little kitty there with you 😻. Have you heard the midnight show on 8/26/69 ? Elvis doesn't know it was already released and someone tells him it was. It was a hilarious show thanks to Charlie Hodge making poor Elvis have fits of laughter. That's the one that the laughing version of Are You Lonesome Tonight comes from. Oh and no doubt, no better Elvis than live Elvis for sure! However, I do believe we are spoiled because we have been blessed to see him ( not really live obviously ) during his live performances. I'm sure this hit hard back then to anyone who hadn't seen him perform live or any footage. I do recall what you are talking about regarding the controversy, but can't say for sure. I think * though don't take this as fact* that the producer ( sorry his name is slipping my mind at the moment ) hated that fade out and felt that it ruined the song. I remember reading about this, but I don't remember the details too clearly unfortunately. I'd have to go searching. I am sorry you are battling a cold and I hope you have a speedy recovery! Thank you so much for the upload and you take care of yourself! TCB⚡
Haha she wanted my attention so I gave it to her! Usually she's a good kitty, just laying at my feet during my videos, but for some reason she wanted my attention. She says Hi🐱! I've head that laughing version and it's just awesome, I can't believe I haven't covered it yet. Going on the old mental short list! Thanks!
@@TCBEric Aww please tell her I said HI!! 😸😻...Oh yes, the whole album is great, but that laughing version just makes you laugh so much! 😂...I hope all is well with you!
