    That is the most violent wreck I have ever seen for a Legends Car. Hope he survived it.

      Usually even tho these crashes look brutal it means that a lot of energy gets dispersed which is usually good and saver for the driver than a dead stop

      This one's right up there, as well, from Lincoln Speedway.

      @@TristanJ22 thats what they say, a sudden violent flip like this is even more dangerous than a sudden stop with these cars.

      @@TristanJ22 ehhhh, depends on how many hits the vehicle takes directly to the roof. Just kinda tornadoing like this is usually pretty good for the driver injury-wise, but flips open drivers up to injury through the car taking impacts with the ground in some less protected places.

      @Tristan Jochheim there is not many crush zones on these cars, and the flipping is so violent. This was brutal...

    That is the John mickel accident. Pescara productions has their own video of this and that is how I know. John is not dead. Very lucky man indeed. I think we can agree that is the biggest crash of the year.

    as a fan of BSB, I have watched many a race at this track and seen quite a few shunts given how narrow it is and my dumb ass never even comntemplated full-sized cars going around what is essentially a go-kart track based on width. Glad he survived!

      @@frl6683 that is incredible, I am glad he is alright and that he still has the passion and the ability to race again. I have seen many crashes but in those cars a roll like that can't feel good lmao

    • @NolanRempel
      @NolanRempel Рік тому +5

      As for the how, it's a big tendency with these cars. The semi-open wheeled nature makes them easy to catapult off of each other, and with the shape of the roof and fenders, it's just as easy for the car to dig into soft surfaces like grass or sand traps and go tumbling. You see it all the time in asphalt and dirt oval races with the same cars.

    • @Glizzyyyy420
      @Glizzyyyy420 Рік тому +3

      @@NolanRempel it just seems crazy to me that rolls that violent tend to happen in cars that go much faster like an old 90s pre-roof flap era NASCAR crash at Talladega or something. This crash reminds me of Davey Allison's crash at Pocono in 1992 with the way the car rolls into somersaults before coming to rest

    • @NolanRempel
      @NolanRempel Рік тому +8

      @@Glizzyyyy420 Lack of safety features back then tended to do that lol. Though for these it's just because of the car's structure, can't really be helped. Much like how midgets and sprint cars tend to take nasty tumbles instead of softer spins.

    My brother in law had a similar crash here in the states. Same incident wheel hopped a guy beside him. They estimated he flipped 13 times. Asphalt oval. Hi hands came out the roof during the flip cutting off a good portion of his ring finger. Knocked him out banged him up good, but he is doing well today. These cars get violent when they flip due to the small size.

      Tbf in a lot of racing series driver tend not to, the more professional a series the more likely you have things like a medical car, on track ambulance, well distributed marshals with fire safety equipment etc. Its more often than not far better as a driver to let the marshals and medical staff handle the accident and focus on just getting your car beck to the pits and out of the way. Unless your in a fully am series that doesn't have that kind of support you may well just end up getting in the way of the professionals and causing more harm than good if you try to get involved in the accident response.
