The Bee Gees brothers started singing when Barry was 9 and Robin and Maurice (the twins) were 6 yrs old. But they didn't become famous till the early 60's. They also write all their songs as well as for other people.
Yessssssss. There was a really good reason why that became the biggest selling soundtrack of all time when it came out. The combination of the movie and the music was epic.
Dude, they were kicking ass on EVERY body's record sales, the #1 Band in the World by the time this came out. To answer your question, Yes, they knew how big they were. Fan's went nuts for a while. They were HUGE!
That Saturday Night Fever era of The Bee Gees is epic still. Listening to the music and watching the movie brings a joy unspeakable to your soul. I love this era, always have always will. ❤
As you now love the Bee Gees and this song, you now have to watch & react to the Film... Saturday Night Fever... Staring John Travolta The score for this film was mainly The Bee Gees, but there were several other great artists and bands and songs, this is a must see film 🎶 🕺
Your comments are spot on. They were the first to sample drums. Maurice was a musical genius. They always looked good. Especially later in their career too. Try Fanny be tender with my love...their voices are insane!
You're right......The Gibb Brothers (including baby brother Andy) were every young girl's dream....especially Barry....Andy was a chip off his big brothers' block.....he idolized Barry.....
The Bee Gees has always and I mean Always been my top 2 band of all time. I’ve never as a man felt emotions the way I feel when I hear these men. Their harmonies are impeccable. It’s so heartbreaking that Barry is the last one left.
The Bee Gees started recording this in April 1977 , it was finished in September 1977 . A music video was made for this song in 1978 , but was only shown to the public in 2004 . 3k tonight or tomorrow easy..... party 🥳 .
This was on the soundtrack of movie "Saturday Night Fever". They had 5 other songs on the soundtrack-“How Deep Is Your Love,” “More Than a Woman,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “Jive Talkin'” and “Stayin' Alive
They were already legends in their own time. This is the Title Track for the MASSIVE HIT MOVIE, Saturday Night Fever, essentially about the explosion of Disco, starring a young John Travolta and filmed in Brooklyn. In a stroke of genius the filmmakers decided to release this album before the movie, the album EXPLODED, top of the charts for months, then the movie EXPLODED too.
The way it worked out is that the BeeGee's were working on their own album.. it was being produced for the movie Saturday Night Fever... But when one of the produces heard the music.... Well, the rest is history...anyone who likes to dance, can't help but get up and jam to this sound, it seems to stay alive!!
They weren't before their time, the disco era was their era. What they were, was incredibly talented and versatile, able to adapt to whatever genre was out there at any given time....something that very few artists could do, really rare! God gave us this unbelievable trio, to entertain and bring joy in to our lives!!
another great song by the bee gees ... they have so many wonderful songs . and of course a great and wonderful reaction like always . keep up the great reactions. and i still love the banner that comes up in the videos droppin reactions like its hot .. much love and peace
One of the sad notes of the Bee Gee's career is that when the 1980's came in they were pushed out of the music scene due to their link to Disco music and the rise of Anti Disco people with the "Disco is Dead" "Disco Sucks" mentality. But it was during this time away that the lead singer Barry was able to write some memorable music for other singers that went on to be chart toppers. They did make a comeback in the late 80's and into the 90's which was great to see them back together and Barry continued to write new music for other singers, which did help lead the Bee Gee's to do a duel/collaboration with Celine Dion called Immortality, which is a hauntingly beautiful song.
I'll tell you why so many are subscribing, including me,its because youre keeping it real with the reactions and all us old people like the fact that you young people really like the music that we came of age,to.And the fact that you are attractive, doesnt hurt.
Another vast hit for the brothers Gibb when I was knee high to a grasshopper. It is important to note the disco sound was as pervasive as autotune is today. People were suddenly lining up to do a song in the style. But you're looking at the unexpected kings of the genre, who walked away with the biggest Billboard prize since The Beatles the previous decade.
Bee Gees - Ellan Vannin (1998) is a beautiful song sung by robin that you could check out. Also, it's been a while since I checked out your channel are you still in the healthcare industry or are you doing UA-cam full-time now?
They were part of the time and as definitively pop as anything you regard as pop is today. It's just that the content, the sound, or the musicianship, happened to be different. Paul McCartney once stated that pop music was the classical music of today. To invert that, classical music is merely the pop music of yesterday. And this is as good an example as any.
I just found you and hope to become a regular viewer. But I feel I have to tell you something about the Bee Gees. They had what I would call 3 careers. The first was beginning around 1966 or 1967. This was when I was 13 and boy were they cute. Also there were 5 of them back then. Those songs were : I Just Got to get a Message to you. Words To Love Somebody I Started a Jokeg And many more great songs! Then in the seventies they had their Disco years which you've covered pretty well already. No they probably didn't know that this sound that they create it would take off as it did and bring about all this Greatness 😀 But this was 70s and it was looking for change and a new sound or groove and The Bee Gees filled that void perfectly 😀 But you really need too see The Movie Saturday Night Fever along with there music which was part of the movie soundtrack too really get what impact was with there music 😀😃🙂🙃 Because that movie and that sound track together is what truly changed the 70s and every decade after that forever 😀 😄 😊 😉 ☺️ 🙂 😀 😄 😊 😉
I’ve got no issues with folks liking The Bee Gees. That’s cool. It really brings back a lot of conflict for me. Disco was really geared for the generation before me. I was (am?) GenX. Disco was really a Boomer thing in my eyes. And it seemed geared for the slightly more affluent. We were just dumb, poor suburban kids in the Midwest. We didn’t “get it.” There weren’t discos where I lived. Maybe strip clubs lol. “Aja” came out in 77 if I’m not mistaken. It wasn’t like there wasn’t excellent music to be had. Zep was still relevant. Zep III came out about 78, 79 right? Disco just didn’t resonate with MY clan. It was “rich kid stuff.” We seemed to be wired more like Billy Corgan’s “1979.” A bit off-kilter. Restless. I don’t have a problem with disco or even The Bee Gees. They just didn’t hit the radar of the kids I hung around with. So it doesn’t really ring for me. Glad you appreciate them, though. I’m certain my viewpoint is jaded and biased. Edit: Zeppelin III came out in 70! I was clearly referencing something else lol (likely “In Through the Out Door”)
The beegees definitely weren't only disco....that was only 2/3 years out of their 45+years career....they already had 2 or 3 platinum records before disco was even coined as a word.....please familiarize yourself with their pre and post disco material.....you'll be surprised.....
Nobody knows it just happens , the best part of it is finding out and having a lot of fun while you go on your journey , it makes us all smile 😁 A gift to the world 🌎✌️
THE BEE GEEs are AUSTRALIAN AND THEY WERE BROTHERS BARRY Gibb Robin AND MAURICE Gibb, BARRY HAD THE FAULSETO (high) voice BUT SADLY THEY HAVE ALL PAST AWAY
Barry is still alive. First to die was their youngest brother Andy who had a solo career at a very young age. Next to die was Maurice and later his twin brother Robin.
I only have one word for the Bee Gees music "ASTONISHING"!!!!
Simply, spectacular, unique and unrepeatable 👏👏👏
The Bee Gees brothers started singing when Barry was 9 and Robin and Maurice (the twins) were 6 yrs old. But they didn't become famous till the early 60's. They also write all their songs as well as for other people.
They knew, the songs were on radio daily & they were super popular.
However, you would need a radio for that.
It’s important to watch Saturday Night Fever to really appreciate and understand how huge these guys were.
Yessssssss. There was a really good reason why that became the biggest selling soundtrack of all time when it came out. The combination of the movie and the music was epic.
Bee Gees great memories
I grow up listening to the Bee Gees and nothing ever have been so hot like these guys it really was beautiful life back then
disco era in the late 70s was amazing, bee gees ruled it, the movie Saturday night fever with john Travolta showed what it was like!!
This song is from the greatest movie sound track ever, Saturday Night Fever.
They have been singing for over 50 years. Barry Gibbs is the 2bezt song writer in history.
Dude, they were kicking ass on EVERY body's record sales, the #1 Band in the World by the time this came out. To answer your question, Yes, they knew how big they were. Fan's went nuts for a while. They were HUGE!
70's baby! Disco
That Saturday Night Fever era of The Bee Gees is epic still. Listening to the music and watching the movie brings a joy unspeakable to your soul. I love this era, always have always will. ❤
The air was electric when these songs were climbing the charts. Disco was so much more than dancing. Disco was a way of life.
When this album came out the instantly became the biggest band on the planet 🌎🥰👌
As a former DJ who's only in his 30s
But knows so much about music history.
You're 💯 Right
@@cjturner370 i know 😉I’m 57 years old I saw it myself
Saturday Night Fever was a huge movie back when I was a kid. Such fun times growing up back then 🤔
I still get my groove on when I hear this song and I'm now 72 💕
The Bee Gees were already big stars years before this recording.
bee gees blue island live
Mia, I graduated from high school in 76 so I was in the disco age. The legal age was 18 and we teenagers danced and dressed so cool💃🕺💃🕺

God given talent.
Their song "Too Much Heaven" will have you "GASPING FOR AIR"! I listen to this song everyday of my life! "I'm not joking"! It's a masterpiece!
You're right......The Gibb Brothers (including baby brother Andy) were every young girl's dream....especially Barry....Andy was a chip off his big brothers' block.....he idolized Barry.....
I am shocked that you have not reacted to Bee Gees Too Much Heaven. CAN'T WAIT for your reaction. Earned yourself a sub today :)
kings for sure
Hi Nice reaction. They were already pretty legendary. The disco era took them to the next level.
The Bee Gees has always and I mean Always been my top 2 band of all time.
I’ve never as a man felt emotions the way I feel when I hear these men.
Their harmonies are impeccable.
It’s so heartbreaking that Barry is the last one left.
Wish I was alive during the time all 3 of them were active... I was 9 years old when Maurice died but didn't know of them yet...
By the time this song came out the Bee Gees knew that they were a sensation. They'd been at this since they were little guys in 1958.
The Bee Gees started recording this in April 1977 , it was finished in September 1977 . A music video was made for this song in 1978 , but was only shown to the public in 2004 . 3k tonight or tomorrow easy..... party 🥳 .

I was preteen then but what i can remember is that there was a distinct beautifulness about the 70's

They had 5 songs in the top ten in 1977
This is actually one of the few disco songs they did.
My favourite BeeGees song is Run to Me.
Go back to their beginning and it was a different sound but still great. Like 1967
We need more sweet young ladies like you♥
still good today as they was back then

You should react to the Bee Gees 'Alone' It is now so poignant as Barry, the Lead Singer, is now alone as he lost his two brother band members!

You need to react to KC & The Sunshine Band. These were the best years of music coming out of Miami. That’s including The Bee Gees as well.
