This must all cost a lot.. all of those plants, the sand/substrate, the rocks. I would have to order all of those online, and shipping would add to that cost. Great video by the way, you guys are awesome.
Very nice indeed!!! Please tell me where I can purchase the tools you used, not so much the fanned out scrapper for the substrate, but the hemostat/ tweezers and the scissors. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.
That is an AMAZING tank! When I saw it at first I was like okay it looks pretty good. Then it said 8 weeks later and I was thinking eh won't look too much different. Then I saw it and was purely amazed!!!! I just dirted a 10 gallon today. Took forever though :D
i liked this video very much and it also inspire me to set tropical fish aqurium at my place also i just wanted to ask that how much amount of substrate and river gravel should i use for my tank with the size 30 x 82 inch can i use normal garden red soil at the extreme basement before i add substrate ??
It depends on the fish. If we are talking SAE (Crossocheilus siamensis) or the Odessa barb (Puntius ticto) I would not hesitate to introduce them just after planting. However, you should always meticulously rinse the plants in order to avoid carry over of excess fertilizer which in high concentrations potentially could harm sensitive fish. This is exactly what Oliver Knott is doing on the movie when he removes stone wool and rinses the roots.
On the Tropica website it says he is dosing 50ml a week of premium ferts and 100ml a week of specialized ferts. This is a 300L tank. That is a lot of liquid ferts. Co2 is continuously kept at 25mg/l. Lighting is 4x54w T5HOs, and he only does a 25% weekly water change. This is some extreme aquascaping.
Hi man i lov ur video , i wanna ask u some questions. 1. what lamp do you suggest for a tank of 3m long , 90cm width and 70cm tall because i want a full planted tank. 2. do u have any experience using led lamps, wath u can tell me abour them. thanx and pls answer.
in the maturation period (ciclage): for plant grow: co2 and light (with no fish before 4-5 weeks)... to not grown algae: Partial water changes every 2-3 days...
Love your aquarium. Looks great. I am a newbie when it comes to aquariums and i would like to know if my progress in my tank is well. Please respond anyone.
Hey you did an amazing job, I am really awe struck. I've recently had a big interest in terrariums and made a couple over the last few days but I wanna see that it thrives before I move onto something like this. I am just curious where you found those rocks cause those are nice formations, (pet aquarium?), and the substrate is that something that is just needed since it is under water plants?
The volume of the tank doesn't really matter but what matters is the dimensions. I think the light you listed would be good enough. BTW, How well the plant does has more to do with your substrate and Co2 level than lighting. Not saying lighting isn't important, the others are more important.
What products are used here exactly (brand and material name)? and the last layer looks like a type or coarse sand, not gravel. Please correct me if i am wrong.
can you help me? what are your specs? i have a 75 gal tank, a little more than 2 watts per gallon, co2 with inline reactor and ph controller set to around 7.1 to 7.2, bubbles going at 2 drops per sec. lights on 10 hrs a day, i'm getting algae on the glass, and hair algae growing on my plants, and the plants don't look like their growing well and slowly losing color...the substrate is eco complete, and i use liquid ferts every 4 days...what's wrong??? the tank is only 2 weeks old... thank you
im 14 and ive been thinking about creating my own aqua scape for a while but i need to know if there is a certain scale of a tank and how much it will cost to make one and what type of fish i want to make a freshwater aqua scape. If anybody has any suggestions im all for it.
Dreamer Me: Ooh, how beautiful! My tank is going to look gorgeous after I've followed these easy directions! Me while I'm planting: WTH! They keep popping up and the substrate is all lumpy now!
what is the top layer of soil he starts adding in around 41-52 and man alot of pots i'll go poor trying to set up the foreground, i've seen hemiantnus callitrichoides for $20 a pot in Australia which would cost me about $300 !!!!!! no way.
Have a look at the tank on my channel, it's not a very big tank but it has one of the Atman filters on there. I have another filter in storage that I can't wait to setup, it holds about 500 liters of water I just don't have anywhere to put it at the moment. I keep looking at different videos on UA-cam all the time for ideas.
@Light236 He's probably a doctor, specifically, based upon the fact that he is using more than one type of hemostat to prune and plant his plants, I'd say a surgeon.
@imarealbigmike for me i dont use any Co2 diffuser, i put like a ton of guppy and molly, and my plant seem to growing pretty rapid. I think it cause of the co2 that these guppy and molly put out
I wish they'd make a bowed scissor with a larger cutting tip, I have a 150 gallon with carpet all over bottom and it takes bloody ages to trim with the tiny cutting part of the bowed scissors, can't find any larger ones. That , or I need longer arms so I can reach the bottom with a normal scissor.
he is more detail then Oliver in terms of start up on mixing the soil, subsrate and faterlizer. Thanks for the detail.
anybody here in 2023
We're still around 😁
This must all cost a lot.. all of those plants, the sand/substrate, the rocks. I would have to order all of those online, and shipping would add to that cost. Great video by the way, you guys are awesome.
was just gonna ask the same thing
This tank is my favourite one. I love cuba plant.

Thank you, it is never too late to say something nice :-)!
Beautiful that is. It’s just so awesome. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Matthew. 😊
Nicely done! Can't wait to get to that level.
Very nice indeed!!! Please tell me where I can purchase the tools you used, not so much the fanned out scrapper for the substrate, but the hemostat/ tweezers and the scissors. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

i just wanted to ask that how much amount of substrate and river gravel should i use for my tank with the size 30 x 82 inch
can i use normal garden red soil at the extreme basement before i add substrate ??
am i the only one feeling heartache when he cut those plants like a maniac?
i admire you work and if you dont mind me asking how mutch did that cost because i know that i do have enough i just was wondering

thoses stones are cool! how are they called?
what kind of rock is used in the video it's nice
Those rocks are pretty epic looking! If I was looking for them what would I call them?

Excellent video, thanks !
Amazing 👌😍 did you do dry start?
@trojanshawaii those are SAE's (siamese algae eaters).
Fine gravel and fertilizer mix.
in the maturation period (ciclage):
for plant grow: co2 and light (with no fish before 4-5 weeks)...
to not grown algae: Partial water changes every 2-3 days...
the awsome benefits of high lighting :D
with a carpet of plants on the ground, do you scifen the gravel, if not ,what do u do to clean the poop and crap out of the tank?
do you have a filter or pump? or is this a closed ecosystem?
ahhh, uploaded in 2008. My 2nd fav year.
@inaturales what fertilization plan do u use for that aquariun.
Really nice videos, still wonder, why doesn't he put water in first? Interesting that he uses an pincet to apply the plants.
A question ;when u prepare this aquarium like dont you need to clean the aquarium?
how do you go about cleaning a densly planted tank like this, does syphoning harm the carpet plants or do you not bother with it?
Love your aquarium. Looks great. I am a newbie when it comes to aquariums and i would like to know if my progress in my tank is well. Please respond anyone.
What did you use to fertilize (except CO2 and Plant Nutrition +)?
what kind of fishes were those?
and does any fish eat plants?
where did you get those types of plants? please PM me I love your design by the way

Cheers mate,thanks for sharing,AMAZING!!

Where did you get those rocks because I'm new to the planted aquariums and I wanted some rocks like that but they were sandy colored?
how do you keep a tank like this clean
Where did you get the plants?
do you have a filther in there?
is styrofoam really ok to put in the water?
where I can buy these plants? i live in los angeles
@TheAsianVids also wondering what type of rock that is
how do you clean tanks full of so many plants?
how did u fill up the tank?
loving this video.
what is the rock you guys used in this tank?
what's the name of rocks you used in the aquarium
I'd also like to know the name of the rocks!
Depends on how much light it gets, how hot it is where you are and how the tank is setup.
does anyone know what brand is that aquarium he is using? who makes it? where can i get it in southern california? thanks
sweet video *thumbs up*

whats the name of rocks?
I've been looking around for a while and can't seem to find out where you find rocks like those?
Those are called dragon stone
What are the names of the plants u used
Hmm, not sure why you would ask me that, but on my planted tank, I use T5HO.
hmmm... so the substrate is just sand and fert tablets?

@Light236 what makes you say that?
so you don't need to feed them anything?
which fish is that ?
What type of rock is THAT?
Could someone tell me what kind of rock that is? :) I'm kinda intrested in getting some ^^
Dreamer Me: Ooh, how beautiful! My tank is going to look gorgeous after I've followed these easy directions!
Me while I'm planting: WTH! They keep popping up and the substrate is all lumpy now!
i'm using sometimes styrofoam to elevate stones-substrate like that and i had no problem.
i see so they mix large gravel with sand ?
what is the top layer of soil he starts adding in around 41-52 and man alot of pots i'll go poor trying to set up the foreground, i've seen hemiantnus callitrichoides for $20 a pot in Australia which would cost me about $300 !!!!!! no way.

how to differentiate ?
yeah! i wish i can work for them!

@MsAndreaxox ur right man!! i thought my speakers was damaged
Personally im a bigger fan of it before the pruning...I like the overgrown look
i need help with my hc
Nice to see an aquascape without the use of specific aquarium Soil 😁 ... I think soil didn't exists in 2010
i kinda wanna start a low tech planted tank.......Im getting there i have 5 living plants ....well only 3 are doing any good :/
that is awsome

magnificent
i like that, but im a sucker for making little holes where my fish can swim, this would do my head in because its tight.
