    Western 49. Hands down one of the best Bowie knives ever made. I have two now and I won’t take anything for them my oldest one was a vetinam carry for a chopper pilot. 1970-1972.

    I'd be proud to own any of these. I'm a PUMA guy but I like their SGB Bowie as it's very versatile practical. The knives you own are museum quality. If you ever decide to donate your least favorite to a Poor boy like me, let me know and I'll be happier than a fox in a henhouse... thanks for taking the time to make and share this video of your world class collection.

    I have the l36 and l66, North American hunting club special edition I believe it’s run was 2000. Knives, I believe mine is like 1236 of 2000, awesome wild life scene etched into the blade. Nice file work on the spine. Then I have another western 49’ with D date code. Awesome blades and as always they shine like a new car. Awesome again jake

    very original video; great collection of blades. My favorite was #3 because this one was a real Bowie knife and the spanish notche makes it even more beautiful. Is the clip point sharpen on the back? Thanks for the music 👍

      @jakeivdbach4665  8 років тому +2

      Hi Hans, "Old Whisky's" Broomhead&Thomas knife is the #3. Its false edge isn't sharp. This is a pefekt replika of a sheffield 19. century bowie knife. Best regards Jake

    Those are all beautiful knives, :-)
    I was recently able to buy my first custom Bowie at a gun and knife show, a 15 inch 22 Grandmaw
    (That's the actual name on the certificate) made in March 1993 by L & B Knives in Colorado Springs with a thick 1095 blade and an elk handle with solid brass fittings that is thick and dense and the overall weight of the knife is nearly two pounds and it's hand stamped. I was able to get it for something of a bargain $150 because it had never been sharpened after it was forged and it was completely rounded off and edgeless on the blade and a sheath had never been made for it. It now has a sharp edge thanks to a local knife shop,
    but I still have to get a sheath made for it.
    If it had been completed with a sharp blade and a sheath back in 1993 when I bought it recently; I think it probably would have gone for at least a few hundred dollars. I'm no expert but the maker really put a lot of love into this knife when he made it and I'm really proud to own it.

      @@brandtbollers3183 The Frontier Bowie, is a great big knife and I like it a lot. Haven't had the chance to use it yet. No Bears or any other large varmints to fight. I have sharpened it to a really nice 24 degree edge. So its nice and sharp. Might redo the sheath, although its nice, it's a bit big and bulky.l Have a good one and stay sharp.

      Just watched him showing huge collection of the actual rarest from Bowie to California Gold rush..In 1940's around the globe,especially Germany they amended for their region and needs,just as James Bowie did for his region.

    Ich schreibs mal in Englisch, damit es jeder versteht ;)
    This Knife would fit your Collection:
    achtzehner.de/Messer/Archiv/Nr-112-31eh-Bowie-Messer::1859.html
    Handmade and only 360€
    If you ask him, he rebuid the Knife for you !
    Anmerkung:
    Den Messermacher habe ich erst letzte Woche selber im Internet durch Zufall gefunden und der macht extrem geile und günstige Messer, fast alle mit spiegelpolierter Oberfläche (Markenzeichen).
    Gerade gestern habe ich die ersten 2 Messer von ihm bekommen und kann sagen, sogar die Klingen sind handverlötet da wo es sein soll, um Dreck und Rost zu vermeiden.
    Exzellente Arbeit und für den Preis findest du fast nichts besseres, dem kaufe ich nach und nach alle Messer ab ;)
    Hier ab 13 Minute und 28 Sekunden kannst du die Messer mal im Video sehen:
    ua-cam.com/video/KRykEkcZKTk/v-deo.html
    und hier ab 2 Minute und 29 Sekunden
    ua-cam.com/video/HJlbytz8IDo/v-deo.html
    Da gibt es nichts zu meckern, ein besseres Preis Leistungsverhältnis kenne ich NICHT !
    Der macht alles, von einem Küchenmesser und Jadgmesser bis Folder, oder Bowie und Kampfmesser.
    Das einzige Küchenmesser habe ich mir dort für meine Mutter besorgt (das zweite Messer und seine Frau hat es netterweise sehr schön mit Geschenkpapier eingepackt), jetzt hat sie ein handgemachtes Einzelstück und ist voll HAPPY ;)
    Und das Küchenmesser hat eine LEDERSCHEIDE, wie geil ist das denn ;)
    Und alles ist ein Familienbetrieb, er und seine Frau und glaube ich seine Schwester schmeißen den Laden, er ist gelernter Maschinenbaumeister, anbei ein Eindruck wie er Messer macht und wie seine Truppe aussieht :)
    achtzehner.de/shop_content.php?coID=10
    Der hat auf jeden Fall Ahnung von seiner Materie !
    Hier das nachbestellbare Archiv, einfach anfragen ob er das Messer noch mal nachbaut, dort steht auch EXTRA: "Dieser Artikel wird auf Anfrage erneut Produziert"
    achtzehner.de/Messer/Archiv:::25_474.html
    Und hier die aktuellen Messer:

    • @jakeivdbach4665
      @jakeivdbach4665  4 роки тому

      Hi Jesse!
      I have to disagree. People generally think that Bowie knives should have a clip point blade. But many experts are of a different opinion. It's not even certain which shape of knife James "Jim" Bowie used. It could just as well have had Spear Point, Trailing Point or even a straight back.
      Greetings Jake

      These are all original brand knives from Solingen Germany, Maniago Italy and Seki Japan, plus the craftsmanship of German knifemakers such as world-famous Wolf Borger, Georg Wysniewsky, Jerry Romanczuk and Michael Freund and others.
