You helped me beat a scammer, he sold me a dead GTX 1080TI SC2, but I watched some of your vids and replaced the C1 memeory bank which was faulty/dead. Now I'm up and running and it has been working for a good 3 months now!
What heat station did you use? did you get the memory only?
@@euphoricmonk got a shop near me to do it, I ran mats/mods to diagnose the card then asked a local shop near me to replace the faulty bank.
Did you have to buy and provide the memory bank or did the shop have them handy?

Am I the only one or is it hard to find good working Gddr5x memory modules?

Good question. You can call a rename function in the start bash file i think. After end line in the video. And you can use the system time to make a specific name.
Is unbelievable one of the hardest things to fix is gpu, and do it do easily, outstanding knowledge

My HIS RX 560 2GB has the same problem.
Sometimes it freezes under heavy/light load. When I run Furmark and 3dMark Time Spy it passes the stress test. But sometimes when I am browsing the web it freezes or when I am gaming. I reduced the the clock speed of the VRAM and the core in MSi Afterburner by about 100mhz and the problem went away. Its the only thing I can do since I dont know how to do a hardware repair.

What pads do you use? I recently repadded my Precision M6600 with some Gelid GP-Extreme pads and they seem to hold up just fine.
Gelid Extreme or Thermalright Odyssey, whichever is cheaper that week.
@@TechCemetery I wonder if Gelid is softer than Thermalright, sometimes their stiffness leads to trouble. Laird 90000 are quite soft.

How do I produce a bootable USB that has the Grub menu you have, the one I have just goes straight into a test. Do you have a .img of your flash drive available? Great vid as usual.

I have the Dell 3080 with similar issues (loads driver, runs ok then crashes under load) and it will not run test 178. Loses display near the beginning of the test and power consumption drops from 300+ watts to 141 watts and nothing else happens. Any ideas?
Excellent video! What temperature do you use for soldering the Gddr6x modules? And do you use a preheater?
For a gpudoctor that shouldn't even be a question. If you don't preheat your board upon cooling down you put tension between the chip and the board. Do the preheat always and you'll do fine.

I have RTX 3080 it no display. but when i use Display from motherboard it still detect that GPU but cannot install driver . i'm notis that VRAM issue. Question is ? how can i check which memory bank are having a problem? i try to use MATs/Mods but not working with RTX 30xx series. (i used to replace 8 Bank for RTX3070ti in my prevues repair).

Your knowlage is great but its a bit poor and annoying to have those 80 lights dots blocking most of what you are trying to explain and are doing at the bottom of the screen, Why have you got those lights on the screen anyway???
Can you recommend a place to get capacitors from? I have seen plenty on aliexpress just am hesitant as I do not know the quality. I've got a lot of graphics cards now thanks to you giving me the courage to try attempt them. Been having awesome success.
I have a broken 8800gts dead under load and show artifacts and x1950 pro AGP in BIOS the screen turn on off on off and have a wrong color image post of the BIOS screen but i don' t have the tool for fix these two old beast

My 1080 Ti did exactly the same thing, would boot and all and worked in games at first but declined during 2 month to not even boot in the end but actually post with no image once.
it will be good to have app that put load on mem and test its results. it is hard to find mild mem corrupt

Hi, I have old Gigabyte gv-n1070ixoc-8gd. Generally it works, but in any OS UI mouse pointer during movement periodically frozes for milliseconds. In 3D games scenes with large number of 3d models shows well, but for example if cam shoes flat sky it may frozes for seconds, tens of seconds... but pc will not halt. I not tested ram ICes yet, the only thing I noticed that one pcei diff pair has significally different resitance to ground than other ones. Can this behavior goes from ram or nvidia chip is partually broken?

There's nobody in electronic repairs who has a friend who can make a GUI for this so we could click an option and have all the shit done? Can't we pay 5 bucks each to give the man some recognition for the guy? Or if someone is wealthy enough to pay the man or if someone is wealthy enough and has the will and the knowledge to do it ?

I am running dual PSUs (server+breakout board and pico) I am using a a 160wat pico the problem is my cpu is a ryzen 9 cpu which the pico cannot power!
So can I hack up a PCI-e 6pin cable and solder an 8pin atx head(in the correct orientation and polarity) and run my cpu directly from the breakout board!?
What could be the cause of code 43 with 0mb memory in GPU-Z for an RTX 2070? mats shows no errors whatsoever... On a side note I really enjoy watching your repair videos mate keep them coming when you can :)
I had this with a 1080ti, but the issue was a faulty mem module. Maybe run MODS to see what it says?

Oh crap I have this problem when i play anything at a 300w load for more than 15 minutes. If I get to 200-250w everything's fine for however long I want to play. Im hoping it's just a PSU problem. But seeing this makes me doubt it :'(.

Gj there :) i have an msi 1070 gaming x 8gb and randomly loses therm_overt signal, it may work for hours and it may freezes all time, any ideas? Maybe the hot unplug circuit causes the signal goes low? Or gpu?
Hi did you fix gtx 980ti or gtx titan x? I have burned pcie pcb bus on 12V and after remofing burned part and connecting everything (smb data etx) i dont have any voltages on gpu, i think the v12 cant get intu 3,3v converter. Do you know what volage is on Vin in referent gtx 980ti or gtx titan x?

I have a similar issue with a 2070 super. Screen will turn on and off, doesn’t hard crash in windows driver installed. Under load it’ll crash to desktop. Works under clocked. I’m guessing core or power delivery. Anyone else wants to weigh in?

Hey I have a 2080 with mild memory corruption, it crashes under load I ran mats and mods, I am getting problems on D0 from 00 to 31 bit so it's the whole bank, but I am only get 33 write errors and 0 read errors all your videos when you have a bad memory bank you get like 1milion errors why do I get only 33?
I don't know I fixed mine by going -502 on memory clock and it works fine for a year now.@@MightyGimp

Anything by Alienware is broken from the start!! Too much reliance on software/hardware that can only be used by/on Alienware/Dell computers.
Green pcb is always a red flag in case of gaming hardware. It's a sign the producer cheaps out on anything.

I had a similar issue with my 3070, just that it black screened under high load. If anyone else has this issue: make sure your vrms are properly touching the heatsink and replace the thermalpads on em. Thank me later
@alexunltd I had mine undervolted as well, the vrms were overheating anyway
