Sunshine Garland with Phoebe English I Hospital Rooms Digital Art School

Fashion designer Phoebe English will run a workshop making scrap paper sunshine garlands painted with natural pigments and inks. We will start by exploring colours and natural dye pigments and then create our paper decorations.
You will need:
Scrap A4 paper
Turmeric
Hibiscus tea (OR something for a pink / red colour)
Sieve or coffee filter if you want to refine the "paint"
Ruler
HB Pencil
Pritt stick
Lukewarm water in a container or jar
Scissors (or you can tear)
Paintbrush

A4 Workshop Guide
Hospital Rooms is a London-based arts and mental health charity that radically transforms inpatient mental health settings with contemporary art.
While our usual work in mental health units is on hold, we have joined forces with internationally acclaimed artists to lead art workshops remotely from their studios and homes.
The artists leading these sessions have exhibited in many of the world's best galleries and have taught in some of the country's best art schools, including Royal Academy Schools, Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins. Over the coming weeks they will introduce you to their creative practice, help guide you to create your own artworks and answer questions along the way.
These workshops are for inpatient mental health units, as well as people accessing community mental health services and the wider public.
