One thing I forgot to mention in this video is that they may not be renewing the lease on this location and they may be relocating. That is why they haven’t gotten 2.0 and could be part of the reason why it wasn’t saved. UPDATE: This store permanently closed on September 15, 2024.
That was the Showbiz Pizza I went to so much as a kid. Basically, the show would have been straight ahead of you as you looked into the windows of the Bingo Hall. The bingo hall doors were the entrance to Showbiz. When it opened, those windows weren't there. When you walked in, to your right was the prize area. Then walking to the back just beyond that was where you placed your orders. Then beyond that on the right side was where you picked up your orders. Of course, that meant the kitchen was behind that whole area. After that was where they had the balloon machine. Then it turned into a hallway which led you to the restrooms, office area and the backstage area for the show. Going back to the entrance, immediately to the left was the "sports room" with a big screen tv. Beyond that was the game room. Probably about where the wall is that looks to be the Bingo Hall's snack stand, that's about where the wall would be that separated the game room from the show. In the last year or so before closing, Showbiz ripped out the sports room, put in those windows and added to the game room. When Major Magic's moved into the place, they didn't change a thing about the layout. They just swapped out The Rock-afire Explosion for their characters. After that, the building housed an Army and Navy store. I remember them not changing anything as far as the physical layout of any walls or physical setup of the building. After they moved out, it eventually became the split use building it is now. One thing I've heard over the years, but I've never found any proof of, is that there was a Chuck E Cheese at the Berkshire Mall around the early days of the Reading Showbiz. I know there was a Gadget's there at one point. But I've never been able to find proof of a Chuck E Cheese in the early 80's. Does anyone know if there was, or do I have some friends whose memories must be hazy?
8:07 I agree 100% man. Out of all the stores I’ve been too, Wyomissing is my favorite. It’s literally stuck in the 90’s with all the old art and signage. It’s gonna be a crying shame once it gets removed
I’ve been going to Chuck E Cheese’s that have animatronics. I went here! I love the Jasper art! I have also been to Altoona, Whitehall, Hicksville, Warrington, Staten Island, Middletown, Springfield, and even North Wales ( closed in 2018). I do agree that Wyomissing should have been saved, the location has so much cool art!

@@user-ee1vs6wt2b Not extremely often. As a kid I was always trying to be old for my age and Chuck E. Cheese to me was “baby stuff”. Now as an adult I have no problem going in there for animatronics.😂
