    Yvonne, it is a no brainer that Peking Duck comes in at number one. It would easily be anyone who is a human being as the number one dish. So succulent and also a variety of sauces with hoisin, chili to topped it up. Wow, love your list and you must also give Malaysian food a try as we have a mixture of three cultures there, from Hainanese chicken rice, to fried kway teow and roti canai to nasi kerabu. Stay safe and masked up.

I've never had the real thing, but I bought this frozen peking duck kit in a box that came with 2 duck legs, the wrappers and sauce, and the sauce, and I put some cucumber and spring onion in it. Only discovered your channel today and really enjoyed watching the salivating savoury dishes. I personally prefer Cantonese roast duck to Beijing roast duck in that the flavour of the latter is heavily dominated by the Hoi Sin (seafood) sauce and the pancake which means the duck meat is somehow subordinate to the sides, and in most cases, you can only eat the skins of the duck and the rest of the meat would be taken away by the waiter; whereas the flavour of the former fills with the entire duck meat and you can enjoy the whole duck, not just the skin 😋anyway this is personal preference of course. Thanks for the lovely video ❤️❤️🙏🙏

    • @GeorgeLouVideo
      @GeorgeLouVideo 4 роки тому +1

      @@GoYvon I'm copying this straight from the Wikipedia page: "Claypot rice (Chinese: 煲仔飯; pinyin: bāo zǐ fàn), sometimes translated as rice casserole, is a traditional dinner dish in Southern China and Southeast Asia, mainly Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. The rice is presoaked, or in some cases par-cooked, and finished in the claypot with other ingredients which then flavor the rice. The rice develops a crust similar to that in Korean dolsot bibimbap or Spanish paella.[1] It is commonly served with chicken, Chinese sausage and vegetables in some regions, but most restaurants offer a customizable dish with many protein options."
      The crust that forms on the bottom is so crunchy and amazing.

    Thank you for this video. I'm not sure if you mentioned any rice dishes. Have you any favourite rice dishes or does it just come boiled or fried in Beijing? We get the western style of chinese cuisine here in England except in Chinatown in Soho where the restaurants catering for the local Cinese population serve up what seems to be just about anything. I've even chewed on a plate of chicken claws on one visit. Those dumplings you were eating looked tasty..what's the best filling you've tried?

      Mmm, not sure about the rice dishes. It's mostly boiled here in Beijing. For my dumplings I like pork filling or mushroom.

    after a year, I got so sick of Chinese food. Id go to a restaurant and ask them to just cook chicken with nothing but garlic and salt. Still most restaurants refuse to give in to the request. My Favorite Chinese Food is from Anhui, Shaanxi, Guanxi, Guandong, and Xinjiang.

    My favorite Chinese food are Chinese foods, I make my travel plans in China after foods. But after I experienced " 15KG increase in only 2 weeks" I both LOVE and HATE them. I don't want to be fat, but they are soooo delicious!!! kind of drugs to me.
