Haladhar Das demonstrates how Hattuti 1 can be applied in Kirtan and then shows you how to build the speed to be able to play all the beats he plays.
3:08 - Practice Hattuti 1 with him, starting slow and gradually speeding up. See if you can keep up with him ;-)
You can find the mantra here:

Hope you find this helpful and inspiring.

What he is using isn't exactly Da guru gur or gher geda or other pieces of 1st hatuti. In 1st part of demonstration, It sounds just random beats to me. I am not an expert by long shot but would it not have been better if there was actual usage of hatuti 1?

@@akashjodha9182 It is not. I know and have played all the beats he has.
Anyway, I was expecting some real use of Hatuti 1. Should not, nothing is free.

Impressive... This was amazing and highlighted what can be accomplished in just a year but I have a question. What is played at 1:05? it sounds like an alankar in the 3 beat but It was too fast. Especially at 1:50 what is being played? it sounds amazing but I don't know what haladhar prabhu has played. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me the mantra of what is being played at 1:50 it sounds amazing.

1:05 application of "Da - terekheta ta khi terekheta" Bhajan style.
1:50 is also the same application.
You can create many variations just by changing to open and closed sounds on the big side and by changing the order of the beats. You can also add more style by applying the "stroke", aka "nak" technique in different spots.
Build your speed up with just that simple mantra written above. Use 3/4 on the metronome playing 2 beats per click of the metronome. Once you get to about 360 bpm (720 bpm on the mridanga), you should have the skill to play what he's playing.
Refer to our metronome video for help.

@@MridangaStudios Thank you so much for the reply prabhu, I've been practicing for a while and getting used to playing along with the metronome and I've gotten close to playing the 360bpm however I couldn't achieve getting the same sound from playing da- terekheta ta khi terekheta. I will keep practicing, I might get it soon. Prabhu if its possible could I get haladhar prabhu's contact info if possible such as an email, I just have some questions to ask after watching the recent videos featuring him. Thanks again for your service, Hare Krishna
