The yellow raven sipped the air
Of thunder and of rain ...
The yellow raven sipped the air
Gentle eyes kissing the rain ...
Where do you go, fantastic dreambird?
Take me away to somewhere
Take me away from here!
Where do you go, fantastic dreambird?
Answer to my yearning
Take me away from here!
The firebird began to cry
When the music died away ...
The firebird began to cry
And smoke was slowly drifting by ...
Where do you go, fantastic dreambird?
Take me away to somewhere
Take me away from here!
Where do you go, fantastic dreambird?
Answer to my yearning
Take me away from here ...
I'm here because I had a dream last night about traveling to a place called 'Yellow Raven Beach'. I have never been to such a place and don't know if it exists - but when I researched the name on the internet, I found this song which I have never heard of before - and found a yellow and black logo which matched the logo on the sign at the edge of the beach ( in the dream ) wow! I love the song. Now let's talk about Jungian collective consciousness. Truth is stranger than fiction!
Truth is stranger than fiction indeed!!! 🙂😉😎
hi, what is Jungian Consciousness ?
@@Lowered_Gadh Carl Gustav Jung - psychologist from Switzerland - see theory of bringing collective unconsciousness to the conscious.

I read your comments with interest. My daughter and I tried to capture and convey to you our awe and feelings towards this song through pictures. Its musical approach, an almost unearthing whisper triggering a river of sweet melancholic emotions, that cannot go unnoticed, haunts you. This radically unique song conveys an incomparable, sensitive sense of simplicity in its interpretation. It's not a song for everyone, and it's not a commercial song either. That's why it will remain timeless for its fans.
the memories of this , hearing it in 76 are indescribable
one of the greatest ballads ever! Killer solos and haunting beautiful Vocals by Meine!
Bravo 🤘
💝💝
I agree 100%
Killer solos - Virgin Killer 😉
@@Mellon9309, another Scorpions' masterpiece!!! 😎
What a beautiful song!!! A very old song, but people will always listen to it! Yes???
O yes
Why isn't this song and the album on Spotify? It should be.
It's a really good song.

No better way to spend a night at home alone. Smoke a little weed and listen to old Scorpions. I just takes me back to my parents basement and being 17 all over again. I'd give anything to go back in time and hear this version of the band play live, even if it's in some little basement bar somewhere.
Agreed 🤙🏼
I'll join yer man
Согласен. Но мы не траву курили, самогон пили🤣. USSR.

Yes, weed and 70s heavy rock just fits together so nicely. It's not commercial, overproduced or predictable.
It is shame this song is not well known as other scorpions’ songs ....It is 2020 and I am still digging Yellow Raven.
I agree yet its the simple minded who will never get this stuff brother...so in the meantime...it is perfection for those of us who get it to enjoy!!!
Who cares, people who know this song, know what's up!
@@maniacle Cool, well said.
2022 and I am still digging it!
Agree! I remember I my high school days back in 2004. My uncle got a record tape of this song cause this it’s very rare to find original hot & slow records in my country. When I heard this song for the first time I got feeling goosebumps!
One of mankind's few perfectly written songs. As higly praised as Scorpions are, I still feel like they are underrated. This song has it all. Percectly written, performed, and recorded.
BECAUSE ITS ULI ROTH ON GUITAR AND not THE BUBBLEGUM METAL of rock you like a hurricane etc.etc.
@@paulkcormier Both are excellent in a different way.
💯💯💯 Couldn't of said it any better 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼
The Uli era was their best work imo.
Uli had such an influence on their sound that they don't even sound like the same band.
They are not underrated, if you know you know! the word underrated is freakishly over used by morons these days, this is underrated!
I’m 29 and I love them. My mother got me into the oldies and was suprised when she went to their concert the other day and saw people my age there
Sang this to my kids at bedtime. Good times

This is the fantastic Klaus!
These are the fantastic Scorpions!
I’am so happy and glad that all you love this great music. No way to convey this stuff to people of this day and age. Only old friends would understand that.
Scorpions is the proof that Music is timeless.
How could any lover of music possibly give this a thumbs down for dislike???
That's assuming everyone loves music the way we do.
Not so.
Many people, possibly most, only care about music tangentially. They have no deep inner desire to be swept by the emotions that music creates.
They don't feel that way for various reasons- some rather sad- that their hearing apparatus doesn't function as well as others and so they just don't experience the nuances and flow of the melodies. They can't physically hear the harmonies as intended, and so they have to pretend the clunky sounds that their ears are receiving are enjoyable.
Some other"s reason for not appreciating music is temperamental.
There are many humans who don't take pleasure in any art. Period. Painting, music, sculpture. Whatever the medium, they don't hardly care. In fact, they'll often voice derision at some artistic expression that they consider unsuitable,- unwarranted.
Those people will often seem to have an exalted opinion of art, and present themselves as only meaning for the best- but in actuality, likely not realized by even themselves, their emotions are somewhat deadened to outside influences, especially art. Close family and religious ceremonies might shake them emotionally- hence their approval of artistic religious projects- but artwork outside of those realms they feel nothing for- except dislike and contempt.
More positive of that type are probably perplexed and confused by the motives behind different artworks.
Either way, their disapproval is inevitable- and not always kept to their selves.
And so the dislikes.
I can even hear them complaing-"and what exactly IS a yellow raven anyway?"
Masterpiece. A rock band who in 76 stayed truly European in their roots, as this magnificent composition shows. Uli is absolutely at the top of his game
..an underrated classic. words cannot even describe..
Most beautiful song I've ever heard and always carful not to overplay it.
When someone says not to overplay a song, it means that you appreciate it and know that is magical. It's the Holy Grail of music treasure found only in this cosmic song.
Fortunately, this song can be played plenty of times over and over without getting old, it's that good.

This song is magical
I've been a Scorpions fan for nearly 40 years. It's been nearly a decade since I last listened to this song. I don't know what my life would've been like had I not just magically found it again. Thanks for posting this.
So you are NOT a scorpions fan then!

@@dadashaNo, this has happened to me, as well. I found again this song after 30 years and added to my playlist. Amazing how easily we can lose such gems!
Magic…
The Yellow Raven called…
The vocals, the guitar tone, the bass. It just makes a mood. Which is a great thing about music.
A hypnotic masterpiece that takes me to far away places a long time ago - loved it then and love it now

What an intro...WHAT AN INTRO! aaaah i am being transported to some other place, some other dimension, where a gentle breeze of comfortable sadness cools my face, calms me down...
..a gentle breeze of comfortable sadness.. I Agree. That` s exactly
the feeling you get hearing this song.
And what an outro...That heavy Uli Roth outro riff is epic.
Intro sounds like a Hendrix song with those triads
Thank you for your help in getting to say anything about it and I have a good day at the same thing as much as I can see you in the eyes of the world

J'écoute scorpions depuis toujours et ça n'a pas pris une ride musique exceptionnelle et qu'elle voix UN GROUPE👍💪 FABULEUX , EXCELLENT 💋🌞
This song was always so special and dear to me. But last year it was that I realized why. I struggled with mental illness my whole life, but then it was at it's peak and honestly the suicidal thoughts had become massive(now it's better, don't worry!). But last year that evening I took a long walk at a place where there is nothing but nature for miles. No humans, no civilisation. Places like that always helped me. The sun was setting and I stood on top of a hill and looked into the burning sky and listened to this song. Wasn't on purpose, it just came up on shuffle of all of my music. And suddenly I didn't feel only that horrible despair but some kind of idk.. safety somehow. It soothed me which was sth nothing else could do at that time back than. Bc somehow I felt understood and grounded in this world, as if I had a place. Don't know how to describe it, but it was a beautiful and such healing feeling. Oc it didn't solve any of my real promblems or life circumstances, but it did something with me that day and I'm not sure if I wouldn't have sth really fucked up if that wouldn't have happened. So fucking big thanks to the Scorpions again for yet another song that helped me and influenced my life over time in such a big big way.

Scorpions gigantic band. I'm from Brazil and I've always loved their sound. Those older ones are creepy. I also love In your Park. It has a chilling opening solo.
At first its Uli's typical Hendrix knock off stuff then....BAM ! Scorpions DNA right there . They influenced so many NWBHM bands but get very little credit for it . Had three legend lead guitarists - Michael Schenker ,Uli Roth , Matthias Jabs. Their body of work is astounding ....some of the lesser known songs are real gems !
The BEST-Uli. Micael and Matthias! Gems all THREE!
Speaking of little credit no seems to give Michael credit for this album which I think is they're best (was recorded before Uli was in the band)
My favorite scorpion's song..ULI playing like a fuckin dream come true!🎸🎸🎸
"where do go fantastic dreambird, answer to my yearnings, take me away from here" this is so depressing yet energizing
