I think what you did has to make a difference. You said in the video, you didnt think it would. Opening up the airflow has to work. It might not be easy to measure or feel the difference without a dyno. If it doesn't make a difference, you may not have found your restriction yet (it could be the size if the throttle body etc) Like some old oem air cleaner assemblies, some are much more restrictive than others, and by flipping the lid you can actually measure gains. On other cars, zero gains. Even though our cars are vastly different, many principles are the same. On some cars flipping the lid did give some free hp, granted, it wasnt usually much, but it was still free👍
that was my initial thought too. i found a way to log and plan is to üut the old setup back on and compare the data of the afm and see what the difference really is.
Spring is calibrated different on 318i AFM, so all you're doing is feeding your ECU incorrect air readings. This is actually worse than stock 316i AFM since you're not getting correct air-fuel mixture.
It won't gain anything. I have a 316 E36 with a maxxecu, drove it without any MAF since it has a MAP build in. There was no gain in peformance really. Now it has a turbo, now it has gained quite a lot lol.

@@thevirqnope. Flashed the ECU with a b18 ECU flash. Fuel trims are in check..

How is it while driving ?
feel strong but cant tell if its a gain or not. need to log with stock vs this setup and look at the maf values..not sure when i will get to that
