Angus is the most humble idol of all time. He acts as if he didn't realize that he is Angus Young. He is the greatest of the greatest.
Malcolms playing inspired me
I heard he doesn't drink at all. Never has.
Just a normal nice guy who rocks out like a madman!
2nd greatest. After Malcolm. 🥰
I will never forget the first time I saw him and AC/DC in London in 1977. He was non-stop, like the energizer bunny. And Phill Rudd having to fully concentrate for 7 mins on the metronomic drum beat of "let there be rock" hit me aswell. Amazing band.
@@JesseJuup It was Malcolm Young's band. They are both genius rock masters though, cuz it was Angus's energy that really hit me, especially in the late 70s.
This man has nothing but class. He's a celebrity, a rock star, a multi-zillionaire, and a member of one of the most successful rock bands in history. Yet, there he is... all 5'2" of him sitting in a chair with a cup of tea in his hand answering all of the interviewer's questions in a manner that would be appropriate for even a kindergarten class. No bragging about himself, giving most of the credit to his beloved brother Malcom, and not a single foul word all through the interview. It's almost like an interview with Jesus.
“An interview with Jesus”
I don’t think anyone ever recorded an interview with Jesus, so there’s no way of knowing how polite or rude Jesus was
@@Thebigdogbluesband
“Pamphlet” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Anatoli Smorrin Angus is a giant in the music world. Despite his height, his shadow totally eclipses over most other rock stars.
@Anatoli Smorrin True🤘🤘🤘

During one interview, the interviewer said something about Angus being one of rocks greatest guitarists. Angus said “Oh please, I’m not even the best guitarist in the family”.
Class act.
Love that quote
This unassuming man in his late 60's is in fact the embodiment of what rock & roll is all about, and he can command a crowd of hundreds of thousands with his sheer, perfect, unequalled badassery and stage presence. There will never again be anyone remotely like him.
And we are the lucky ones who share our lifetime whit him.
Well said!!
He is definitely unique in his own right. Most legends are imitated or even copied, but this guy is not copiable. Sure, we can learn his songs, but no could ever be the whole package like this guy.
I agree. He's a one-off original. Few rockers can say that.
Love this! You can tell how much he looked up to and respected Malcolm
His hero is Malcolm
Yes he certainly looked up to Malcolm and makes it quite obvious that he was the driving force behind the sound of the band.
@Philthy Casual How Malcolm never gets name-checked as a guitarist is beyond me
@@sniffrat3646 Non-musicians look at Angus. Angus is the show face of the band. But, Mal was the musical force behind ACDC. (no slight to intended to Angus, he is a great player too).
Malcolm young The rhythm master and driving force behind ACDC, Angus Young's idol Too, rest in peace Malcolm young
Malcolm was really the heart and soul of ACDC. True Badass.
No doubt. There's always the guy/gal that we all love to watch, but there's always someone in the background that props them up.
That person has just as much talent, just in a different way. We all would be blessed to have a Malcolm with us.
Wow, Malcolm really looked after his little brother - he was definitely the leader of the band. You will always see Angus on stage with his uniform and always holding a cup of tea in interviews- what a legend and treasure he and Malcolm are!!
A guitar hero with zero ego. Unheard of and refreshing. Makes him all the greater for that. Humility is the greatest quality in any musician.
I'm 60 now but I get the same feeling I did when I was 16 listening to them.
I truly feel so sad for Angus here. He misses Malcolm so so much. He is still mourning that loss. Bless his heart Lord.
Yep, for sure... the death of his brother Malcolm totally knocked the stuffings out of Angus. It's clear to see in any interviews he's given since 2017. Malcolm was his guidestone.
👍🏾
God bless Malcolm Young!!!!
The person responsible for making me want to play rhythm guitar. God bless you Malcolm. We miss and love you for your creation.
Mal was responsible for everything and gave his baby brother all the spotlight. RIP to Malcolm, the greatest rhythm guitarist of all time and Bon Scott, one of the greatest singers, frontmen and lyricists ever and long live AC/DC.
LONG LIVE ACDC
Malcolm was the heart and soul of AC/DC and as you said, the best rhythm guitarist ever. Angus is the face of the band but Malcolm was the band. 🤘🏻
Bon Scott was the best rock singer ever ....besides Elvis lol.......
@@afterburner2869 That's so much B.S. Does not even make any sense. "Malcolm was the band"?? So, if there was no Angus, and no lead singers, AC/DC is still the same looking back as it is now? People let their emotions get in the way of common sense.
@@ericmcelroy9366 No...many, many great rock singers, all "great" in their own way. It is only fan magazines who make it a beauty contest in order to sell copy. If you think there is a best group, a best singer, a best guitarist, etc., then you have had only limited exposure to great music, or you do not really understand it.
I'm 45 and AC/DC was rocking before I was born. I own almost everything they ever released and have seen them live 4 times. I thank the Young family for all they have done for music.
Ich trauere heute noch um Bon Scott. Sie waren mit ihm perfekt. *
Very clear Angus can’t tell his story without mentioning Mal every step of the way. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.
RIP Malcolm. Take care of yourself, Angus. Your fans love you.
Thats what it means to have a big brother like Malcom, amazing.
angus, brian and the rest of the guys are so humble. They don't realize the impact they've had, and they're so down to earth. their music has saved more lives and been the soundtrack to more life stories than anyone could ever comprehend. POWER UP!
Don’t leave out bon scott!
True true
Love ACDC an Angus, right there with you on that comment, never be the same without Malcolm
What a fucking legend !!!
I could hear him talk for hours. So interesting what he has to say
Same here.
@@YourFellowRNRSisterFan98 your everywhere in AC/DC videos true fan!
Once again, we see how important Malcolm was to the sound of AC/DC and to Angus. Such a humble player is right.
Angus and Brian are go great story tellers so was Malcom. You can tell Angus likes to talk up his brother.
The Yardbirds Concert Angus went with Malcolm has to be one of the concerts from 21st to 23rd of January 1967 in Sydney, because the band played only one tour with Jimmy Page in Australia. Angus was 11 at that time.
Good info, well done.
Angus is the man that inspired me to pick up a guitar all the way back in 1990, I was 13 years old when I first heard The Razor's Edge, from that moment on I knew I wanted to be a guitarist just like Angus. Thank you Angus for changing my life for the better, plus AC/DC was the first concert I ever went to, love ya brother.
Are You like him already?
Angus seems like a really down to earth kind of guy, definitely didn't let the stardom get to him. Great guitar player with some of the best licks.
Nothing like hearing him live and the crowd chanting, "Angus" over and over. I'll never forget it from the 3 times I've seen them.
Hope you get to see them again. As well as myself. Seen them once and it was almost magical & mythical at the same time. 40,000 light up devil horns screaming his name simultaneously in an open stadium in while it was raining during the fall. The cannon firing blanks at the end of "For Those About To Rock" made it feel ceremonial in a sense.
It’s almost a religious experience
Nothing gives me that kick in the guts feeling like Angus’ vibrato technique. The way he plays is simple to understand but difficult to replicate with sincerity.
Malcolm was such a huge foundation for Angus. RIP Malcolm. The best rhythm guitarist to me and Angus was the perfect compliment to him. Edit: Only true fans would know how great a lead player Malcolm was also. Listen to their Album ‘74 Jailbreak. 🤘🤘🤘
Which songs?
@@RockResume335 Soul Stripper, Show Business, You ain’t got a hold on me. Little Lover which was on High Voltage.
God yeah, malcolm was sooooo understated. What an amazing guy.
Angus always said Malcolm was a better lead player than himself. Mal just didn’t want the spotlight.
Malcolm has also stated that him being a better lead player than Angus is absolute nonsense, and his little brother is just being super humble. Malcolm has said people have yet to realize how truly great Angus is as a player, and he will eventually go down as one of the best to ever pick up a guitar. I fully agree with him. Angus is well liked but he hasn't gotten his just dues on how brilliant he really is. I think his superb showmanship often overshadows just how good he really is. He has some of the best vibrato in the world, and that's one of the most challenging aspects of the guitar to have great vibrato. You can often judge how great a player is by it.
I always thought that Malcolm Young was 'just' a rhythm guitarist, and of course songwriter. But watching this interview with Angus, it seems Malcolm was the brains and experience of Angus's guitar and amplifier knowledge.
Gives credit for everything to Malcolm....Such a modest guy...and an eye opener to the driving force and generosity of Malcolm. Makes sense they played so well together.
Angus really looked up to his older brother Malcom and I can tell that they were close brothers and had respect for each other. , well, they were family.
Great story about Jim Marshall, the guy that started Marshall. He was a jazz drummer back in the day and owned a music store. There was a scrawny little kid that would hang around his store with the drumkits. That kid was Mitch Mitchell, who later played with Jimi Hendrix! Jim was his first drum teacher. Who would have thought. This all ties in together.
Angus and his brother taught me how to play and I haven't even been able to thank them. Whenever I pick up my guitar, even 11 years after my last tour, you can still pick up the Young influences listening in.
I just want to say... This is awesome!!! 🤩Angus reflecting with his brothers genius background activity with riffs and amp checks. including "checking every amp to find the hot ones" is such a real reflect of one musician reflecting on another musician and admiring their attention to detail, let alone it's his brother! 🤩 Very Cool Man!!
He will always be the best guitarplayer in the universe. 🤘🏼⚡️
Lol
I love Angus…but it’s a BIG universe! 🇨🇦
Agree, the shear variety and quality of his riffs, licks ,call em what you will is astounding, and Malcolm likewise,, people say they sound the same!! Well I wish mine sounded as samey as those . truly the top of the tree BUT you'd think this humble gentleman was in A pub band somewhere if you hadn't Heard of him,, love this man like a brother.🎸🎤✌️😎
@@will-wf6sb Variety pffft
God bless Angus Young
Kinda moving how many times he said "Malcolm" ...he must be sorely missed by him
I like the way he is giving Malcolm credit for helping him so much. He wants the world to know about his brother. Any piece of machinery like these guitars and these amplifiers or even cars that come off the same assembly line have minor differences in them. The average person would not be able to tell them apart. With these instruments and amplifiers who really knows what makes the difference? It could be a million things.
I imagine losing his brother/band mate was a terrible, terrible blow. Only people like Alex Van Halen and Vinnie Paul Abbott could understand that kind of sorrow. Bless them all.🇨🇦
Really. you think non famous people don't suffer loss via death eh. your in for a shock.
Vinnie is dead too
what a legend! I can't even imagine R&R without AC/DC.
Same, maybe put them on the top of all lists of greatest bands
God bless your soul Malcom! Love you Angus. One of my favorite rock bands of all time. Rock on AC/DC. One of the most inspirational guitarists of all time. Thank you for posting this.
Angus has got a smooth voice with a dangerous overdrive/distortion sound
He is the lightning in AC/DC
Angus uses the natural breakup of an over-driven valve amp but it is actually a much less overdrive than a lot of people realise because he still gets a massive tone with dynamics .
No Bon was the lightning bolt in the middle....that's out of his own mouth..
Angus is the good Soul of the 80s Rockmusic
He was on fire in the late 70’s
Brilliant to see this interview with Angus. He's such an unassuming guy for being loved by rock fans all over the world.
u reds
The thing about Angus that always fascinated me was the fact that he's so tiny where and can barely get his hand around the neck of his guitar but yet so how he manages to do it and when he does and starts playing he creates that trademark AC/DC sound. Angus truly is a living legend 🤘🤘
Thank you Angus and the rest of the guys from AC/DC.
The power of brothers working hard together n succeeding, creating some of greatest Rock n Roll tunes,, killing us with ur humbleness Angus,,RIP Mel n Bon
Tightest family EVER!!!
Best music I ever heard live, and couldn’t hear anything for some time after the concert…
Those cannons omg
Let's all remember the genius of Malcom Young. His singular vision of what a rock n roll band should sound like created the blue print for so many classic songs and a unique sound. Thankyou AC/DC. Thankyou.
AC⚡️DC - formed today 12/31/73. Best band ever. Rock on Angus , you are a true legend.
I’ve seen DC probably ten times ! They’ve been a huge part of my life for over forty years !
They are the ‘ precision engineers ‘ of rock and roll.
All roads lead to Malcolm. R.I.P.!
Angus Young is the greatest guitarist ever. He have so much humility. So much kindness. Always giving the best for his fans. Unlike some other stars, his goal was never to win more and more money, but to give people great music and see them having fun at their concert. Definitely one of the greatest person.
Angus is a great guitarist - no question - but he would always argue that his brother Malcolm was better. Most of the riffs that Angus is famous for were written by Malcolm. Malcolm Young was a powerhouse of rock and the undoubted leader of AC/DC but he knew that Angus was the better front man.
I saw him so many times, even from the rows up front. He seems to be a possessed man in a different state of consciousness, channeling so much energy into his small body. How his body withstood that treatment is a mystery.
The hardest working man in show business! An-gus!
It’s astounding he can hear the questions! Can you imagine standing in front of his cabinets while the band is playing???😮😮😮
Angus Young is a genius, and I will never forget his and the bands amazing live performance of "let there be rock" in 1977 at the London hypodrome. He was non stop, and Phill Rudd concentrating on the non-stop drum beat was amazing.
This was a fantastic interview. Good job! I hate when people get a big artist and keep interrupting them. Learned some interesting things I didn’t know 👌
It is fantastic how mature, focused and relaxed Angus is despite being a rockstar, a guitar god.
Always a pleasure to see and hear Angus talking.
This is so amazing!! 🙏
I really can see this Young Brothers doing their Thing when it all started .
Mal organizing the *Needs* and Agnus plays and *Feels* !! Both did!!All of em did !!The Result is what we are enjoying for so many Years and they learned the World to FEEL..... pure, handmade Rock Music ,!!
❤Gratitude and Blessings🙏
We would have appreciated a longer interview! What an awesome brother Malcolm was. I still remember seeing AC/DC in concert as a teenager back in the 90's. Will be taking my kids next time AC/DC are back in the UK.
My first electric guitar was an Encore Strat copy, sunburst and a solid state amp from Sears.
Reminiscing is great. Man, that was 47 years ago.
Now I just build and review guitars and pickups.
Most humble guy paying tribute to his big brother Malcolm. Thanx for the great music guys!
I had no idea Malcom was such a big part of Angus's sound from learning songs by ear then teaching Angus and even pointing him towards using an SG, It's also pretty mind blowing to learn that Malcom got him to use the wireless set up that made it possible for him to be so physical onstage. It occurs to me that the story of ACDC is really more about a family than a rock band. You may have heard the name came from their sister seeing on a sewing machine. Let's not forget George Young rhythm guitarist for the EasyBeats who were considered to be the Australian Beatles. Having an older brother who had some success in playing in a rock band, I would have dropped out of high school at 15 too!
I went to their concert in Auckland NZ in 91 when I was 11, he's an amazing guitarist and still the most awesome songs to cover at gigs
Angus is honest. This is unscripted and not predetermined BS to satiate the casual fans. Perhaps, 'the' last REAL rock and roller from our late 70s, early 80s teenage years. In this video, we are hearing-it as it really happened for-the-time. Something that is a premium in 2021.
Awesome as always...hopefully a tour one day🤙🤙🤙
Angus young is a down to Earth and humble human being and doesn't get the credit he deserves
He seems like such a great guy. He is one hell of a guitar player
I was honoured when l met the whole AC/DC band back stage in 1987 blow up your video tour and Dokken who was supporting them back then. All this taken place in London Wembley arena which holds 12,000 people. Plus meeting George lynch was superb too. I’ve never forget that evening ever. Angus young was so nice to chat with and his brother and Brian Johnson, Simon wright was the drummer then, so l never got to meet Phil Rudd other than that such an awesome experience though.
Angus is the reason i play guitar and love music. Back in Black had just been released and i loved every note .... still do. Theres a lot of heart and soul in angus' playing, he deserves far more credit
He does. Best vibrato in hard rock.
What a wonderful interview. Thank you for posting.
Great Interview ! Thank you both.
I'm 52 and Angus was my NO#1 Inspiration , every note , lick and song a HIT !
I first heard AC/DC in 1976 on a late night radio show, a live recording in London. I was just 14 years old and the whole thing affected me massively, I just totally got it. It was the essence of raw rock and blues, no frills, 100% commitment and honesty. Then I saw Angus throwing himself about in a school uniform and I was sold through the heart. I loved it then and still play it in a band now. Angus has been the soundtrack of my life. Thank you AC/DC.
Thanks. Great interview 🎶🎵🎶
Possibly a Jansen amp Angus was referring to being made in New Zealand ,they were made in the 60's along with the Jansen invader Guitar which out sold Fender in NZ & Australia & were high quality & highly rated among musicians .
More likely a Holden Wasp built in the seventies a clone of a Marshall.
he said it was made in NZ ,,dummy listen next time ..Plus he said it was really old the guy had it for years but never used it ,& that was in the 70's so how the hell could it be some aussie made amp from the 70's gee .@@murraymoyle473
Great tribute to his brother here. He misses him so much I'm sure. Angus got the most attention but he shows in this interview how vital Malcolm was and he made ACDC who they are in my opinion.
AC/DC, is the best rock'n roll band in the universe!!!! I grew up with them!! Thank you!!!!
Angus sure loved his brother! You can just hear it.
Thank you sooooo much for this very intress Interview with My Idol Mr.Angus Young!!!!THX!!
I love Angus 👍 thank you Angus for being an inspiration to me and your music has been a blessing in my life whenever I feel down or feel negative energy I put on my favorite ACDC songs and I always get uplifted thank you
I would like to say that I found this band when I was in my first year of high school I would love to say that they brought me through my entire life their songs reminded me of all kinds of moments and and beliefs I guess you could say of everything in my life every song meant something to me I'll never ever forget these guys they brought carried me through the thick and thin of rough times in life which was a lot thank you AC/DC thank you each and every one of the members I sure wish you the best Malcolm rest in peace.
Vielen dank Guitar Magazin for this interview. Like the others here obviously noticed, it seems that Malcolm had a lot to do with helping Angus define his sound -- from the Marshall amp, to the SG, to the wireless.... Of course, Angus gets total props for his playing. He always had a bite to his lead riffs, even back to the first two (Oz) albums. I never heard him play a bad note. And he's a great guy.
Angus is so much AC/DC he actually gets electric shocks
🤣🤣🤣maaaan... that's a good one.
WOW MAN!! Thank you so much for this! What a great interview. H'es just such a humble regular guy. And actually admitting his brother showed him everything! (my uncle did for me) God bless you, and God bless Mal and BON!!
Love this. What a lovely guy. Clearly massively influenced by his brother Malcolm. Great interview.
Angus is the greatest. Thank you for all you did. ACDC is the best band of all time and I will always miss
Angus is the perfect guitarist. I cant imagine him doing anything different. His whole family has the music in their blood.
Loved this! It's Angus!!! Malcolm was such an awesome player as well. It was interesting hearing him talk about how important Malcolm was to him. it left me wanting more!
Among all the things amazing about AC/DC is when Brian Johnson on Top Gear talks about how nobody knows them. Like they can go down to the shop and buy some milk and a sandwich and nobody goes OMG IT'S ANGUS YOUNG or Brian Johnson.. Which I think is so cool. They are one of the most know world wide bands over decades but don't have to worry about the media BS. Also THEY ROCK!
I saw them in Montreal old Forum back in the 80's for the Back In Black album. The verry best day of my life after the day my daughter was born.
Angus Is Such A Great Man 🙌
ANGUS YOUNG !!!! One of my A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E Heroes !!!
He misses His Brother So much ❤ its Hard to deal with sometimes ! i know the feeling my friend !
Angus Young has been the recipient of more real and true fan and audience adulation than 99.9% of any rockstars that have ever mounted the stage ,up there with jagger .Just watch live footage of their concerts you can feel the love from the crowd towards him.
God Bless that man. Most humble man I've ever listen to. Loves his brother's dearly
So down to earth, and respects his brother ❤️
What a lovely bloke. Love Angus

I remember meeting AC/DC many years ago at the MGM Grand Garden Arena when i was working one of their concerts in Las Vegas. Great people. A honour and a pleasure to work backstage for their concert that night. Both the Young brothers are legends right up there with Mr. Hendrix and Mr. Page.
Very humble indeed! As great of a guitarist and a talent as he is, take notice how often he gives his brother Malcolm the credit! Brothers for life 👍
The reason I started playing drums was Phil Rudd. The reason I quit drums and started playing guitar was this man.
Great to hear Angus,,good onya ,mate
