@@millomweb Loading and unloading is not: Purchasing something from merchants. It must be pre-ordered on an account. Otherwise, its classed as shopping. Load of BS.
@@HeatingGeek I was dropping off a video for repair. So now you have to sit in your car outside the shop order your pencil then you can pop in and buy it :)
@@HeatingGeek I've had visions of having a 4 wheeled hand cart/trailer. Parking at the edge of the city centre then walking down the road (any side of it) with the hand cart, ignoring traffic lights & one way streets to pick up say a microwave or washing machine or whateva ! Being a pedestrian even with a cart, you rule !
Cheers mate good stuff. I have a three way Honeywell. Spindle feels free with head off. Warm rads when heating hot water tank. Watching it drive to close with the tank switched on it seems sluggish and doesn't seem to get to the end of the gear track, it will if encouraged a little with a driver. Seems fast driving the other way so I guess it's leaving a crack open to warm rads. Would you suggest changing the head only or reckon there might be a fault inside the valve? Cheers
@Mircea I know the motor is constantly trying to turn. I also know they get hotter when kept like this. Im not educated in electronics and cant give you factual info. I can only tell you what I have noticed in the last 20 years of working with them as a gas engineer. As they get older the thick grease leaks out of them with the heat and they begin to get noisy and seize.
You don’t like seeing bare cores but you don’t mind using non compliant test leads as specified by GS38 which is a minimum of 4mm exposed tip (recommended 2mm, spring loaded), a good helpful video though.
hi my honeywell valve was stuck inside brass body like youres wouldnt budge had to use wrench to open partially but still would stay in open position why would that part go bad??
Im in Reading and NW London tomorrow so I think I will have to give it a miss. There is one at Alexandra Palace and Earls Court most years thats the ones i try and pop in. Coventry is a bit far ;-)
HeatingGeek my first switch master done me and cost me an extra 20 mins realising white and grey was different lol but love to see your understanding and breakdown of approach to a wiring centre keep the good up dude 👏🏻
And then 12 months later same thing happens again. I’ve had a plumber change mine twice and now it’s broke again! No way am I paying another plumber to quickly free up the valve and install a new motor when it’s clearly the valve that’s causing the motor to break! I’m just going to change the whole thing and be done with it which is what the plumber should have done in the first place. I understand why though, because it’s fkin ball ache and most plumbers just want a quick fix and outta there!
Did ir work after he fitted it, therefore why are you complaining, probabky wanted to save you miney as draining and refilling a sytem, venting radiators, making sure theres no airlocks, letting heatinf reach temp all takes time which costs you money and takes us his time
@@MMKLYH money wasn’t an issue and I told him just to change the whole valve and motor but like I already said, plumbers don’t want that sort of work, they prefer easy jobs that are quick. Took me a full afternoon but I changed it myself, inc draining/refill/vent - plumbers are overrated 😁
Another top job Ollie.❤ . You make it look easy buddy.
It is when you break it all down. Usually a simple problem :-)
Nice to see old school techniques used. Great video as usual. Hope your hearing went well.
I lost the hearing but learned some of the new rules around loading and unloading.
@@HeatingGeek Feel free to tell.
I had similar issue years ago - cost me a 50p stamp to defend myself but parking fine avoided.

I alway try and free them off first. :-)

@Mircea exactly :-)
Valve looks like it will only ever be on as it doesnt turn enough to shut off the water? Or am i missing something.
It's fine - those Honeywell ball valves have a small range of motion.

Bet your fun at parties.... I'm not worried about myself but worried for my customers.
Good job and Honest, respect 👍

I don't know. Honeywell have defiantly dropped their standards.
@@HeatingGeek I've not yet had to lube a Honeywell but have had to do a Drayton.
Maybe I should have kept that 40 year old Honeywell after all !
Do you ever change the actual syncron motor so you don’t have to then touch the wiring centre?
Yes, 90% of the time. ;-)
Are you going to installer show this week?
Where is it? I don't usually go to them things tbh. If I'm out and about and passing I might pop in.
That was a quick comment. I thought this video was still processing!!
HeatingGeek It's at the Ricoh arena in Coventry, haven't been before either but going tomorrow.

Why wasn't the old head not working - was it stiff too ?
I don't know. I cant remember. I don't rewatch my videos. :-)
@@HeatingGeek You should remember - it's a vital part of learning !
Good vid as always very valuable
Mate just a suggestion you should show the wiring difference between switch master and Honeywell / Drayton valves

As soon as I get a switch master I will film it. Needs to be a Vid on them
Hope the hearing went well
..
Nope. Lost. Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea get a bit more money from the poor.
0:09 - yeah that's the Drayton programmer that doesn't like working in airing cupboards - relays stop working yet the lights come on.
Great tips
Glad they help :-)
Quality - wish we had plumbers like you near us!
You probably do, Just have to find them :-)
great vids thank you we want more please
It's too busy at the moment to get anything done. :-(
