Well, this song is not only about feeding little birds.
Zacharias Topelius wrote the lyrics after his little son's sudden death.
So, the bird girl feeds is actually her little brother from the Land of Angels. That deep an touching context makes this song so special and dear to us melancholic Finns. I can't hear or sing this without 😭😭😭.

I first heard this song when I was listening to some Raskasta Joulua songs a couple of years ago. It instantly grabbed me and I didn't even know what the song was about. After finding out the meaning of the song (I can't remember if I looked it up or if Pekka told me), I liked it even more. Marko's version is super!

Love this song and during this season I listen to this version practically every day. I always enjoy your reactions because I learn something every time about how my favorite singers and bands create the sounds that they do.
This was different, but I enjoyed every minute. 🤔👍 I love Marko's voice but the choir was my favorite part, "so good". 🏆🇫🇮 Great reaction.

Raskasta Joulua sovitukset näistä perinteisistä joululauluista on olleet todella piristäviä 😄 Vuosia oon haaveillut pääseväni livenä kuuntelemaan mutta vielä jäänyt väliin.
Multa kans ääni JP:lle! Tonttu ja Konstan Joululaulu on aivan huikeita vetoja. JP:n baritoni on tosi piristävää vaihtelua muiden tenoribiisien seassa ja toki itselle äärimmäisen mukava mukana laulettava 😂👌🏻
Tää biisi taas on ollut itselle sellainen "treenibiisi" korkeille nuoteille kun mennään vähän jo ylärajoilla ja varmaan ylikin oman tekniikan/äänialan kanssa 😅 Enkä päästä itseä helpolla kun tykkään toiseksi viimeisen säkeistön laulaa vielä oktaavin matalampaa jolloin loppuun tulee pieni kahden oktaavin hyppy 🥴🙈 Treeniä treeniä 😅
