I like how you don't cut too many corners in your cooking...the techniques are solid and you spend time when it's necessary to make things taste wonderful. Another mouthwatering dinner party! I am doing menu planning now. My husband will be coming home from the hospital where the food was horrible to say the least. All your menus will help him regain the weight he lost and strength his spirit. I love everything you do. I am so happy I found you on UA-cam!

What a coincidence. Here in France hospital food is just as bad. It reminds me of my husband's reaction when back home after he broke his leg and spent 4 days at the hospital. He told me the worst pain wasn't in his leg but in having to face the plastic "plateaux" (trays) with greyish, unappetizing stew or boiled fish without any sauce followed by some bland jelly. Almost cried of joy and relief when I served him delicious ... leek soup ! And his favourite home made pistachio/vanilla cream.

I recently discovered your channel, and I'm so pleased that I did. What a delicious looking meal, and lovely table setting you've prepared for your guests. And stress-free on top of it all, which means you as the host get to be your best self when company arrives. How lucky they are! I can only imagine the scintillating conversation, and delightful background music accompanying the the evening. The pandemic still has me leery about having too many people in for something like this, but hopefully some day!
Lovely, stress-free entertaining! Your guests should be honored to dine with you and Mr. Fox. I have not yet acquired an Instant Pot, but my mother always made beef stew in a pressure cooker. You'd think that since I pressure can so much, I'd have one, but since I'm retired, it's just as easy to start in the morning and slow-cook my beef stew. I definitely will be trying that apple tart tatin and the potato-leek soup - Both look amazing!

Love your simplicity of the leek soup. However, you may want to mention leeks are known to have sand and dirt hidden within. I soak and rinse first before adding to my pot. No one wants grit in their soup. I also use chicken stock instead of water adds volumes of flavor. Try northern spies apples (availability is limited and only available after a hard frost) definitely worth using and you'll be pleasantly pleased with the flavors of your apple dishes. Thanks for simple fall menu.
Fabulous menu as usual, Kevin. Your leek soup looks positively delicious. I'm going to try making it but serve it hot rather than cold. Your beef stew, again, fabulous and leaving it two days before the party means all the flavours had time to develop properly. Your apple tart is a sensation. I love apples and make a version of your apple pie so I'm going to give this recipe a go as well. Your table too looked fantastic. Perfect for Autumn. Kevin, these how-to videos of make-ahead meal menus and setups are absolute gold, especially in the way you present them. Haven't seen anyone here on UA-cam present something like this with all the details we need (e.g., actual sequence of production across days, measurements in Imperial and Metric, simplified cooking, storage tips, serving tips, etc.). You also have a great camera presence that's friendly and calming. Best of all you've been creative in your choice of recipes and decor, so that while they're inherently easy recipes, they still look and taste/feel "like a million bucks." I guess that would be the kind of mantra for your channel.
