That’s a pretty cool system for add on hot water system. Although I totally freak out at the idea that there is so much electrical wires right under the sink where it may leak someday and cause a bigger problem. Over here the code don’t even allow sockets underneath the kitchen sink and if you want hot water there you gotta use the storage water heaters. But it was so interesting to see this install mate. Thanks for the video
Under many sinks there is a socket for the washing machine and one for the dishwasher. I always put them away from any potential leaks but most houses have RCDs so a leak would not kill anyone! (UK)
That tool to cut the pipe is mint, normally heat up some 15mm to make a hole. Them boiling taps look a mess underneath, so many pipes but they am good, do like them.
Nice video Dan, hell of a lot of pipes. I must admit I don't usually read instructions, unless it doesn't work. Then of course you may have buggered something up. So I must behave in future! They are there for a reason.
I've only ever fitting one boiling tap before and I thought to myself then, I wonder if it'll void the warranty if I hard pipe all this rather than these flexi's everywhere, would be a much neater job :D Easy mistake on the non-return valve, oops! ah well at least the sink won't gurgle while the dishwasher is emptying now
Haha yeh that’s true mate. If the Flexis were shorter, we could make it a neater job. I understand why they make them long though… so diyers can install them haha.
@@Heatking yea not allowed to be connected environment act 2021 , I think it’s because treatment plants and sewers can’t handle the thick soup, yummy cant beat those tradesman special flavours m8 🤣
@@Heatking your joking, I looked after my gas engineer, and electrician’s when I moved here in March, bacon butties, fry up, tea coffee and cake all the time. I’m too soft hearted, 😂
Trying to work out if I can fit this myself and kitchen fitters look like they were paid commission by the complexity and number of connections they can fit under a sink. According to regs this should be a 300mm down but Qettle supplied a 280mm run (that's including the bottom of the elbow supplied) so don't know, I'm just assuming I'm wrong at this point. My waste pipe probably needs extending grr and it's not a vertical, it's like 65 degrees vertical with a load of other pipes routed around and in between everything (all kitchen fitters work as they had a clean slate starting).
I've also just watched their video and they claim a 750mm hose which according to regs is 150mm too long (Reg G 3.54 "The tundish should be vertical, located in the same space as the unvented hot water storage system and be fitted as close as possible to, and lower than, the safety device, with no more than 600mm of pipe between the valve outlet and the tundish")
Mate you did avreal tidy job of that. I think the boiling taps are a complete waste of time. Luckily you had a nice big unit to fit in. I fitted a Quooker unit in a 600mm wide base unit….not even room to fart in there😂😂👍🏼👊🏼
I had a a scale reducer fitted as part of a new boiler installation. It was fitted around 200mm below the boiler yet the instructions said it had to be a minimum of at least a metre away. I made them move it despite them saying that was where they always fitted it.
These things are the thief of time to fit, I've been caught out pricing kitchen/extension jobs when the customer/kitchen company supplies a fancy setup that has a PRV to outside and a separate vessel. You allowed a hour for undersink second fixing and end up spending half a day ! and customer never wants to cover the extra....................

great job Dan they always look messy when I fitted mine, her indoors said "do we need all those pipes?" great video keep them coming.

Cheers Keith! Youre right mate 😂

Thanks mate, and interesting to know what it’s like over there too! Yeh it’s quite common having sockets under kitchen sinks here in the uk! Haha

Good vid Dan - we all do the same, fit it and then check the instructions 😂
Haha cheers Chiggs 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Cheers mate, yeh the little tool was a beast 😂😂 and you’re right.. you can’t really make them look pretty underneath!
Everyone makes mistakes bro great videos👍

Haha. Yeh that’s the same attitude I have mate 😂😂 Us men should learn to do better 😂
You made it look so easy Dan 😂😂
Brilliantly Done
👍👍🤜
Haha thanks Tony, although do I detect a hint of sarcasm? 😂😂😂
Expensive to run hot taps!!
Instructions? What does that mean? 😂 great video Dan
Haha That’s what I thought mate. See if I hadn’t of read them. I’d of been none no wiser so shouldn’t have read them! Haha
👏😂😂
Brilliant timing for your video. I have a Quooker tap to install in January. I'll take your advice - spend time reading the instructions first!!
Haha thank
You Richard! Yes definitely do that. And it should be straight forward! Haha
That's alot of things to go wrong in terms of pipework and t it takes alot of space aswell I will stick to a kettle thanks 👍
Cheers Jay, yeh going forward I don’t think I’d recommend this particular brand.

Great video! OMG that dishwasher outlet drip! Hope you didn’t get a bad reaction from it!
Haha cheers mate. Nooo thankfully it didn’t react with me 😂😂😂
You did right Dan sink macerators are banned from being connected to mains drainage last year, I’m imagining the flavour out that overflow
I didn’t know that! So they’re no banned from mains drainage? 😵 and the flavour… 🤢 rank haha

Like the explanations on things mate ❤
Thank you Lee 🙏🏽
Yuk, did you wash it down with a cup of coffee, enjoy your weekend Dan. 😊

It's probably better where you've put it as you can actually see it if it goes wrong.
Yeh that’s true mate.
You could have just ran a new prv to outside like you would on a boiler or cylinder.. great video mate
I thought of doing that at one point mate, but thought it would have been easier to connect into the waste 🤦🏽♂️😂 thanks buddy!

Possible boiling water discharging through a flexi pipe into solvent welded plastic pipe!!!

Bit violent that thing 😂
😂😂 you’re not kidding!
Real blokes don’t read instructions! We just mess it up and then go back to them to see what we done wrong! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 this is true mate!
Such a pain! Seriously, just boil a kettle?
😂 I don’t see the appeal either.
😂 I don’t see the appeal either.
I don’t silicone my kitchen wastes
Better off with the Scott and James hot water tap no blow off or anything required.
I agree mate, this was a right pain! Customer supplied though.
What i don’t understand, my Nespresso is tiny and produces almost 100 degree water. Why are these units so large (and expensive) lol
Valid point haha. The size is down to the amount of litres they boil up. But the expense… haha no idea!!
🤘😎🤘🫖☕️💨
Happy new year pal! 🙏🏽
I never read the instructions 🤦
😂😂 I think it’s a male thing mate.

Yep I fully agree with you Julian. I’ve fitted other brands of these though that don’t take any time at all. But this was a pain 😂😂😂
As you get older you’ll realize that this sort of job is such a pain in the arse , you can say no
Haha I always realise it afterwards mate! 😂😂😂😂
