After Transformers: Age of Extinction, I got my hopes up that the franchise was taking a step in the right direction. The characters were less annoying and it felt like a great continuation of the first three movies. Best of all, they gave actual characterization and screentime to the Transformers themselves! The Autobots had diverse personalities and Lockdown was an AWESOME villain! I even forgave the fact that the movie slammed on the brakes to explain the Romeo and Juliet law to the viewers! I even forgave the fact that the Dinobots didn't show up until the final action scene! I would go as far as to say that it's my SECOND-favorite TF film, just behind the first one! Yeah, say what you want about Michael Bay and these movies, but the first one has the most heart! You can clearly see that they were trying to make something special! Sadly, the same cannot be said for Transformers: The Last Knight. This movie SUUUUUCKED! And it's not even the fact that they're doing the same thing! No, no, they tried something new and different with this one, but it was stupid! Not only was it stupid, but it was BORING AS HELL! Worst of all, it completely ignored the continuity of the previous films! Like you said, it ignored the fact that the Allspark created the Transformers, in favor of Quintessa being the Creator. I get that they were doing a shoutout to G1, with the Transformers being created by the Quintessons, but they could have had Quintessa be the creator of the Allspark! It wasn't that hard! But no, FUCK any sense of logic and consistency! Let's just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks! They tried doing all of this garbage with the Transformers being on earth and shaping all of these moments in history, but I just rolled my eyes because it didn't just feel forced, but it just felt like a total ass-pull (which it totally was)! And yeah, that little tomboy character they advertised so much in promos, she didn't amount to jack! Just like you said, it would have been more interesting if they focused on her as the main human character. Hell, I thought they would have featured those boys who ran into her, but they ALL got shafted and pushed to the wayside! There was absolutely NO POINT for them to be in the movie! As a matter of fact, ALL of the humans felt wasted in this movie! THE HUMANS!!! You know, the thing that they focused way too much on in the previous movies! The characters all felt forgettable in this movie! Even Josh Duhamel has no reason to be here, other than the writers trying to establish some flimsy continuity, but failing miserably! Hell, MARK WAHLBERG was wasted in this movie! I actually thought he was a very likeable main character in the previous movie, but here, he doesn't even feel like he has a real reason to be here! Speaking of wasted characters... I may not be as big a fan of Hot Rod as you, but preach on, brother. He got screwed in this movie. Oh, and they ripped off the hit show, Transformers Prime with the plot twist of earth being Unicron! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I'm not against them taking inspiration from other incarnations of the franchise, but it's yet another result of the writers throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks! Oh, and big surprise, it doesn't connect with the previous movies, either! For years, I tried my best to give these movies the benefit of the doubt, but I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. I wash my hands of this franchise. Don't get me wrong, I can still watch the previous four and get some enjoyment out of them, but FUCK THIS MOVIE! Age of Extinction was so much better than Revenge of the Fallen. ROTF had god awful humor, like Devastator's balls, a tiny robot humping Megan Fox's leg, and the obnoxious twins. And Optimus Prime was gone for half of the film. Optimus Prime received over 20 minutes of screentime in AOE and the humor was toned down by a lot.

There's this whole damn seen were Megatron gets a gang of deceptions together to go find this staff thing or whatever and legit 20 minutes later they get fucking destroyed by the Autobots in 5 minutes, like this shit isn't even close, they get fucking destroyed. then at the end of the movie there fighting on this giant battleship and you see Megatron and Optimus squaring off, and i just think to myself "alright awesome, we get to see the biggest matchup of the transformers." but legit the fight lasts 10 SECONDS. all that happens is Megatron says "we were brothers once." and then Optimus says "once." and kicks the dude off the damn planet or something, idek. I legit shook my head and just thought to myself, "wtf was that."

The marketing for the movie was also horrendous considering how much of it was emphasizing Optimus Prime being under control even though that only lasted for about 5 minutes total.
Quick little Transformers fact actually in 17:00 you were actually right with both Armada and Energon as Hot Shot appeared in both and he is the same Hot Shot in both too. Also as Rodimus, Hot Rod also technically appeared in Energon. Though from the sounds like they completely botched his character in The Last Knight regardless so the point is mute. Also, high five for the 1986 movie love cause sounds like you need a bit of positivity after this. As for myself, I gave up after Dark of the Moon so I haven't seen it nor Age of Extinction. As for favorite Transformer, I'd say a few from me are Grimlock (G1 Era), Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime (G1 Era), Dinobot (Beast Wars Era), Megatron (Beast Wars Era), Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime (Unicron Trilogy and Prime versions).

The only Transformers films that I like is Transformers (2007 film) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011 film). This is my own opinion.

I don't get why Bayformers (aka the non-animated Transformers movie series) has a fanbase (that demands us to like non-animated films based on cartoons including Bayformers, Bratz: The Movie, M. Night Shaylaman's The Last Airbender, Dragonball Evolution and much more by calling us jealous and/or pussies for having harsh opinions on these films).
The bayformer community is the most toxic fandom I've ever seen, and that's saying something since I've been a lot of the shit in the Star Wars fandom.
"Top 10 Reasons People Hate the Transformers Movies" is overly flamed by Hannah Montana fanbrats with no artistry nor good taste. (*cough* Thiti2000, Austin Plaz, many other trollers) They demand us to like product placement (*cough* The UTTP including The Real Nostalgia Critic).

Honestly, The Last Knight made the 1st movie look like it didn't make sense. Watch all the transformers movies and you'll notice what I'm talking about.
L Lawliet All of the history has been retconed. This series doesn't make sense anymore, and it never made sense to begin with.

Remember when Transformers were originally a cartoon and toy line for kids, now it's a movie franchise that has gotten to a point where it doesn't know where to stop and even forgotten that is was even meant to be based on kids toy and tv show.

from the start of the Transformers franchise people saw the potential in it, but for many times the director has not listen to people's critiques.
Michael Bay is a good visual director but he's a great example of a director or artist that is ego dampers the movie. Well not only Michael Bay but the writers too, but they don't care because it's a big huge paycheck for them.

The marketing for the movie was also horrendous considering how much of it was emphasizing Optimus Prime being under control even though that only lasted for about 5 minutes total.
You know, I hate to be that guy but...those Disney remakes aren't sounding so bad now, don't they?
I noticed that to the camera change it was very weird one it would change back to back after 5-10 seconds.
Quick little Transformers fact actually in 17:00 you were actually right with both Armada and Energon as Hot Shot appeared in both and he is the same Hot Shot in both too. Also as Rodimus, Hot Rod also technically appeared in Energon. Though from the sounds like they completely botched his character in The Last Knight regardless so the point is mute. Also, high five for the 1986 movie love cause sounds like you need a bit of positivity after this.
As for myself, I gave up after Dark of the Moon so I haven't seen it nor Age of Extinction. As for favorite Transformer, I'd say a few from me are Grimlock (G1 Era), Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime (G1 Era), Dinobot (Beast Wars Era), Megatron (Beast Wars Era), Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime (Unicron Trilogy and Prime versions).
In my own opinion my favorite Transformers movies are the first 3 and than after that is was downhill after the 3rd film.

To be honest, I don't remember ever watching live action Transformers movies. Even when my cousin bought a whole tonne of them, they were the old handrawn animation one and the good CGI one from the nice reboot.
