This is propper diy mechanics trial and error and going back to standard part we have all been there keep up the good work farty pants 😂👍
If I’m honest I spent most of my money on brakes for my last Trackdays at brands hatch, new lines all round disc and the right pass and the correct brake fluid to deal with the heat. Managed a good 10 laps of the GP TRACK without any brake fade, and all the stoping power I needed.
Would love to see the conversion to megan/clio's brembos, also i think the rears from a focus would fit, i just think the fronts are a problem
Sounds like it was worth a shot. Plan B sounds good with the Clio Brembos.

I've got a set of 300mm K-Sport 6-pots on my ST. Highly recommend them over the Clio/Megane upgrade. Affordable too, £1200 including YellowStuff pads and express delivery.
Is there any problem with Clio brakes set up? Or is it just 6 pot is just betterM

Theres a lad on Facebook called Alex fibreworx Wilson has his own business page called fibreworx he'll be able to make you some vents to attach on to the brake cooling hoses to go in the gaps in the front bumper Steve 👍
For your break air intake intake behind the front bump the Escort mk2 windscreen de misters might fit the opening better than the trumpets or something similar
Xp10 brake pads are also great, but expensive.
Resonating vibrating , hm sure you wasn't farting mate causing that lol I've done the brembo conversion on my vxr miles better and look good aswell keep up the good videos

Probably didn't work right as the SiCo kit is supposed to be used with mk3 mondeo calipers. Not st 170 ones. Megane brembos will look ace

I’d put some Brembo’s on there, one place you never scrimp on is brakes suspension and tyres
Although that doesn’t seem to be the norm nowadays with all the nangkang tyres and £180 coil overs 😂

If them calipers are from a fiesta st170 cant you just get st170 pads

The pads fit perfect. But the conversion brackets from sico mount the caliper in the wrong position relative to the disc.
@@Sparkplugsteve gotya, so you need a different conversion bracket if such a thing exists and new unmodified pads now. :-)

I'd like any of the big brake setups but cost is my biggest factor. I can do the megane brembo conversion for around 500.

Aren't the focus st170 calipers the same as the fiesta st calipers in relation to piston size? 54mm from memory. I know that the mondeo mk3 calipers have a larger piston 57mm which is why people go for them.
I never done it to increase piston size just disc size. The mondeo calipers are useless for race pad choice so is not an option for me.
Are you sure you’ve fitted the conversion bracket the right way up ?, the callipers look further round anti clockwise to me !. Obviously being a Vauxhall man I’ve not had owt to do with ford conversion stuff maybe those brackets only fit one way, was just the callipers look high too me !.
Yes the caliper is sitting too high. Definatly fitted correct but iv since found many more people suffered the same problem after using these brackets.
Iso confused mix match modeo mk3 and st170 pads and caliper? ofc they are not conpatable, but thats nothing to do with the st180... its you putting a square in a round hole... if they are mondeo mk3 calipers then use mondeo mk3 pads and there will not be a issue....???? Am I missing something?
Yes you missed a bit. They are st170 calipers with st170 pads.
Have you managed to find a good enough brake upgrade
Yes standard Ford discs and endless me22 pads. Phenomenal.
Spark Plug Steve if your looking for a 4 pot Caliper use the calipers of a 225 Megane, I have installed them and they are amazing :)

You might be better off having a set of pads ready modified but instead of taking metal off the hooks, maybe trim back the actual overlapping friction compound.
Use an angle grinder to trim the friction material back and wear a mask when you do it.
If I do that I will have less pad surface area than standard fiesta brakes and defeat the object of the upgrade.

standard fiesta has 280mm discs and the st170 is 300mm. shame it didnt work, thanks for watching
