Rise of the Guardians is the most touching story about life and death, our fight against evil and the innocent heart and mind of the child inside each of us. This is a beautiful song, sung by the beautiful and captivating Renee Fleming. It takes my breath away.
Sandy Garlick I noticed the movie was dedicated to the author's child who died and within a few years after that his wife died as well. Somehow a feels like the music as well as the movie Echoes his experience.
@@benbrown8258 I guess the only silver lining there is that the author himself is now 61 years of age today, meaning that his days are somewhat numbered as well - so his reunification with his daughter and wife shouldn't be too far off now. :-)
This song is dedicated to William Joyce's Daughter, who died of cancer in 2011 at the age of 18! It makes it sadder! For those who don't know it, William Joyce is the writer of the Rise of the Guardians...
Yes i agree with you and if you look closely when pitch is knocked out they set up the possibility of a sequel. The butterflies around his head are referring to his daughter.
Well..There's a writer called William Joyce who was a guy invented all these characters so it's a possibility to continue draw yourself into this fairytale, Miss:) I'm pretty sure that plot isn't so far away from this movie adoptation. Haven't read it yet by myself, though..
I agree, but you know the first movie 🎥 should’ve been the sequel and the first movie 🎥 should’ve been how North 🎅, Bunny🐰, Tooth 🧚♀️, and Sandy should’ve became guardians and the Jack Frost’s epilogue would’ve been an after credit scene.
Even in the darkest of places, light exists. Dreams are born here. Never give up....especially not on yourself. I listen to this almost daily and know it by heart. I keep waiting for my neighbors to bang on the door telling me to stop singing so loud :-)
No disrespect to Wes Craven (RIP), but I would love to see the Guardians fuck up Freddy Krueger one day - a character who arguably has no soul, so he collects the souls of others. lol
Heaven's Angels weep with envy when they listen to this woman's voice. Hopefully when she gets there someday (decades from now, God willing) she'll be able to give them some pointers.
this music inspires me a lot.. especially the movie. it just not gives me hope.. but always reminds me to remember to stay my heart like a child. To dream of wonderful things and to live even if i everybody doesn't recognize my presence.
The most beautiful song ever! It's the melody so plaintive ,sweet, and hopeful all at once. What can I say about the incomparable Renee Fleming, AMAZING! I cry every time .
At first, I was not impressed and didn't expect that this would be the theme song but every time I hear and see this, it gets better and better and more emotional. The scenes are great and hope I can "Still Dream" again.. this is one of my fav. songs, others are Jonsi's "Stick and Stones" ...
when i was in the dark season of my life, this movie shone light, teaching me to find my center. Taught me that i can hope again, dreams can happen if i will just believe. thank you!!!! Will forever be grateful to this movie. the soundtrack is spectacular.
am I the only one that probably over-sympathizes with Pitch and though understands the need to stop him in the movie, kinda bashes the guardians in my mind? I mean, fear is necessary in order to grow up. Only when someone is most afraid can they be brave and move forward after-all.
+Sezja Atrinae I kinda view him as the Guardian of either Chaos or Courage. More courage than the latter. It's just his tragic backstory gives me a smidge of understanding, mind you I have a terrible habit of siding with the villains. But I don't view Pitch as evil... certainly not good, but not evil either.
Oh I never get tired of listening to this song. It gives me the same feelings I get from reading a William Joyce book so getting to watch a movie with him involved. ^-^
This was on today and they Fast forward this beautiful song just so they can get to croods.... When this came out in our theater , and this song played at the end credits. I thought this movie had to be epic to have such a beautiful orchestration!! Great song to a neat movie.
This movie was the best like for real. Its different from every other movie i ever watched. And i remember back when this came out it really got me through tough times. I believe in all these guys idgaf if im 20 believing in them makes me feel like I'm not so alone anymore
@Littlefrancy Dici. Yeah... William Joyce didn't write the film. He WROTE the books the film is based on but he dropped down from screenwriting after his daughter died. And I think it was May 2, 2010 when she died of brain cancer.
I just found out about this movie Las week and can't stop thinking about it since then. Of all the Christmas movies I've watched, this one hit different. And oh, did I mention that I have a crush on Jack Frost. 😍 Now I have to save money cuz I want to buy the books!
@@aoto8897 I'm currently reading Bunnymund and the book series has more characters than the 5 guardians in the movie. We get to know their past and how they became guardians. 😊 It was interesting and I couldn't wait to read Jack frost story. ❄️
this song is amazing. This movie is amazing. This movie and this type of song... not so great. How I wish it didn't seem like such an odd combo for me. But the awesomeness of the movie segueing into this in the credits is... well... a let down. I expect something upbeat like "Sticks and Stone" with "How to Train Your Dragon" something catchy. But this song IS and will ALWAYS BE AMAZING.
Just got the DVD yesterday and I've watched it 22 times already. Im hoping they make another sequel about Jack Frost. He will always be my fave character not because of his looks, because he made me believe a lot more than I usually did. The whole move made
I can't say that I watched all cartoons this animation studio can suggest, but maybe this fairytale is the best they made. At least this charming story is among 5 of my favorites heart-touching art. Order is this : The Tale of Desperaux, Wall-e,Rise of the Guardians,UP! and The Little Prince. Not including Stuart Little dilogy, cause it's closer to usual movie than to animation.
i just got this movie on DVD and omg i've watched it 6 times already. call me crazy but i could care less. I've heard that there's talks of a sequel. i'm hoping they do a sequel but who knows, i'm content with just this one movie :D
I LOVE that movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like pop and rock and alternative rock, I'd love to do an alternative pop cover of this. I just think it'd capture the orchestra like feel but give it a bit of an energy boost that would get kids on the same level as many older people who like this slow paced song. It's a great song, just by itself. It really is but I'd love to cover it in a way that would make it also exciting for anyone to listen to if you want soemthing just a bit upbeat. That's why it's fun to lisetn to different ways of one song to be performed. That way, it's enjoyable depending on the mood you're in.
I've seen the movie 13 times and this video like 9 times both punched in the emotions.........th,they punched me right in my happiness XD, I luv rise of the guardians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't knew it was related to that. It's so heartbreaking that such an incredible story is motivated by such devastating circumstance of life. Thank you for that info. RIP Mary Katherine Joyce.

When this movie becomes a classic in 10 years, I will not hesitate to feel nostalgia as I watch it.
This movie already is a classic in the same vein as wall-e.
I daresay that thousands of years from now, beautiful films and songs like these will be as timeless as Greek Mythology.
There's only 5 years to go
Five years later
About two more years, and you'll have your answer.

Yes, he is
8 years later
And the book series rise of the guardian is based on the books guardian of childhood William Joyce wrote
And he based the character of Katherine in the books after his daughter
Please, please, a sequel!!! We want to dream again!!!
Yes i agree with you and if you look closely when pitch is knocked out they set up the possibility of a sequel. The butterflies around his head are referring to his daughter.
there will be a new character Cupit, Moter Nature, Sint Martin, and Fater Time,
And of course Eve too!

Hands down. My #1 favorite DreamWorks film.
Finally, something outshone How To Train Your Dragon 1 and 2.
Now I can't say outshine but I can say a amazing movie none the less.

This song blows me away every time, it perfectly captures the concept of the guardians, and the magic that surrounds them.
We are each and ever our own guardians. I take nourishment from this beautiful song.
Amen.
if this song doesn't touch you at all, it means you don't have a soul.
It means that you have to go back BEFORE you stopped believing to regain the magic you once had.
Or it means you just don't like opera music
No disrespect to Wes Craven (RIP), but I would love to see the Guardians fuck up Freddy Krueger one day - a character who arguably has no soul, so he collects the souls of others. lol
Beautifully enchanting. Thank you, Renee.
Amen.

I have listened to this song around 30 times today. Every single time it gives me goosebumps. I want this played at my funeral.
Still do 8 years later?
still do 9 years later?

If Pitch chose to be good, he could have been a Guardian to help children to overcome their fears :)

pitch killed off all of bunnys people so id call that evil
I like that!
I actually wished he would be part of the guardians.. I was a bit disapponted because i do understand him 💔
I don't care what my best friend says, this song is FAR from ugly. It's amazing and beautiful. I tear up just a little when I hear it.
