I'm kinda with you both on the notes/second brain issue. I think Ian is right that mixing your personal finances in the same app you're using for work automation may not be the best way to go; and I fully support Aaron's effort in creating his own workflow/app (I happen to be doing the same, and I will be adding my finances to my app, to track things the way I want them to be tracked).
I lived in NYC for 2 years. Great time for myself. But being from the midwest, it would be too foreign to me to raise kids in the city. Obviously millions of people do it every day. Just didn't see it for myself.
Notes should be sync to an email account that is accessible to all your devices that use the Mail and Notes apps. Configure in Settings -> Mail -> Accounts

Evernote seems to be making good progress on getting good again. The new company seems to be putting some real effort into it.
