is a salinity tester the same as a total dissolved salts tester unit ? also I noticed eBay item number:282068283938 grabbed a screenshot from your video!
Yeah I noticed, just some are titled specifically as pool salinity testers, and others say total dissolved solids, for purposes of checking contaminants in water
How often do you calibrate the tester?..thanks
Needs very rare calibration in my use of this tester.
How do I recalibrate? What fluid do I use? And where do I get it? Thanks!
You would need a 3000 ppm salinity solution. They sell it online.
Could this be used for reef tanks. Instead of using a refractometer
I don't see why not. It is a salinity digital tester so testing the salt level in a reef tank should be similar to pool testing use.
How does this compare to manually testing using chemicals??
edit: I commented before watching the whole video :)
Sure thing. This is what I recommend for salinity testing over the test strips for sure.
Much mahalo. I just bought one. A very informative video
Do you now Where buy tha solution?
They sell it on Amazon.com: Hach LZW9721.99 Conductivity Standard 12.88 mS/cm, Certificate, 125mL
thanks!

Not exactly sure. I just use Salinity Testers. There are low priced ones on Amazon also.

Yes, TDS and salinity are different. Sometimes they come on the same tester. For you I would suggest just a straight salinity tester.
