- In this video we take you to the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at!
Hotel La Casa del Mundo is such an unreal location, sitting cliffside overlooking the incredible Lake Atitlan, you can't really ask for much more. Starting at $50 a night makes this hotel so affordable to any traveler which is why we are so happy to share it with you guys. We know it can be hard to find nice hotels for cheap prices, but this is just one example of many we hope to share with you!
There are so many places and towns to explore nearby, you really feel like you are part of the community. We interacted with so many locals and were able to really learn about their history and culture.

Hmm that’s a tough question, but if you want to explore the towns, do some hikes, I’d say anywhere from 4-6 days is perfect

We just withdrew from an ATM and our rental car was from Discover, at the airport also

Hi I'm going at the end of the month. I was wondering what company did you use for the Indian nose hike? I'm having trouble finding one that picks up from the hotel. Or did you schedule a boat to take you to the town the hiking company starts at. It's early so I was wondering if boats are working at that early time. Thankyou
We did it last minute so it was a bit more expensive than normal but here is the number for our guide Domingo. I 100% recommend him, he was such an incredible and kind person! +502 5634-1393. He can arrange everything

Once you park at the lot, there will be somewhere there offering both a private one and a public transport :)

Do the boats and parking at the marina accept cash only, and in quetzal or dollars? Where is the best place to exchange if flying into Guatemala City airport where the fees are lowest?
hey, Adri, sorry for the late response. So the boats and parking only accepted cash, yes. It was Quetzal. We withdrew from an ATM in Antigua and made sure to keep enough cash with us. Also, our hotel on the lake allowed us to exchange US dollars for Quetzal. Never withdraw or exchange at an airport as you will lose so much money with their weak exchange rate. Best is to either request it form your bank before your trip, or just withdraw from an ATM there
How long is the boat ride to the hotel?
It took about 10 minutes, super quick and easy!

guatemala city airport is the one we flew into and found it was great!
We loved staying here, but the bugs were horrendous at night!
oh wow, thankfully we did not have that problem when we went. Maybe it's seasonal

I don't remember them having AC while we were there. However, it was always cool during the nights where we didn't even miss it
How wheelchair accessible is it? 🤔
not very accessible from what I can remember. It was mostly stairs to get anywhere you needed. And even when there was a flat path it was usually a dirt road which would make things difficult
